Tramontina 80116/249DS Gourmet Stainless Steel Induction-Ready Tri-Ply Clad 12-piece Cookware Set, NSF-Certified, Made in Brazil

I received the 12 piece set of cookware the day after ordering it. It was well packaged and represented accurately in the description. I checked first to see that it said "Made in Brazil" on the bottoms of the pieces since I'd read a number of comments about whether it was made in China or Brazil. I've had it less than a week so have only used it a couple times, but it seems to work fine on my new induction cooktop--which was why I bought it in the first place. It's heavier than my old Farberware but I understand it needs some weight to it to cook properly. The weight is not unmanageable. I do wonder about not setting the burner higher than medium, because it took nearly 1/2 hour to boil water at a medium setting, but boiled immediately when the number was bumped up ... MoreI received the 12 piece set of cookware the day after ordering it. Tramontina is an excellent investment. While the price isn’t astronomical, they are on the more expensive side, HOWEVER, Tramontina brand cookware is of the highest quality craftsmanship, and is comparable to products that double, or even triple their price. I was first introduced to Tramontina in 2011. Prior to making the switch, I was going through basic brand pans every couple of years. They would warp, dent, peel (non stick) and just become useless, which was very frustrating to someone who enjoys cooking every day! Not to mention, expensive to keep having to replace! Best set I’ve ever owned

Beautiful set! I’ve had a chance to use all the pieces and I’m very impressed with the quality. These pans are not only lovely to look at they are well-constructed—sturdy without being heavy and the ergonomic handles are easy to hold (they’re also long enough to stay cool as they are not directly situated above the burner flame). The even heat distribution makes a high setting unnecessary and food cooks as expected. Clean up is easy with Bar Keepers Friend and a non-abrasive sponge. A home run!

Discoloring

Not much on sending in reviews, but this purchase was very disappointing. May be me but never had a pan/pot or any cookware discolor with boiling water for pasta. Customer service was a laughable. Days to respond with little to no answers other than "Oh this is how you can remove the rainbow effect, or use some sort of chemical to clean them. After several emails back and forded between the company and showing photos, I finally gave up and donated them to a local homeless shelter to use. They felt good, looked good until you cook with them for the first time.... Sorry but a mistake I will not make again.

EVERYTHING STICKS!!!

When the box arrived, I took all of my old cookware out of the cabinet and replaced it with the new set. I read the information and tips for use and care before using it the first time.Unfortunately, I'm extremely disappointed.EVERYTHING sticks - from eggs to pancakes to pasta. As of yesterday, I started using the old cookware I had put in a box to donate to charity.I reached out to the company. To be able to return it, they said the set would have to be unused (How would I know if I liked it???) and in the original box. I was concerned about buying these pans because of the reviews about food sticking to them, mainly eggs. However, the pans were rated highly and they were one of the top two sets of pans rated by Consumer Reports; the other set being more than twice the price.I did some research on how to cook with stainless steel pans and decided that the complaints about food sticking were most likely due to improper cooking techniques. I decided to take the plunge and order them. The picture attached shows my pan after cooking eggs. (It is not washed in the picture so you can see a little butter residue but you can also see that nowhere in the pan is there egg residue stuck to the pan.)The pans are heavy duty and provide for even cooking throughout the pan. I would suggest that anyone purchasing stainless steel pans, regardless of purchasing this set or any other, watch the YouTube videos on how to cook with stainless steel. Also, research the different kinds of stainless steel pans and I am sure you will find that the construction of these pans is of high quality and the price is unbeatable for the quality of the pans.Key points when cooking with stainless steel: Heat the pans prior to adding oil; use the water test to determine when to add oil/butter (watch videos on YouTube to learn about this); use only low to medium heat.While these pans are dishwasher safe, I would highly recommend hand washing and drying them right away to keep the shine and prevent any damage that can occur from chemicals in dishwasher detergents.I find comfort in knowing that I am cooking with a high quality pan and not with pans that could possibly emit carcinogens into the food that I am cooking.

Nice Set

I needed new cookware when I got an induction stovetop. After much searching, I decided on these. I definitely do not regret my decision.They are a nice weight. The handles are amazing. They feel so solid, they do not get hot when on the stove (I read some complaints about that from other sets), and they are extremely comfortable to hold. The pieces are easy to clean for a stainless steel set. If something does stick or if they become discolored, a little bar keeper's friend cleans them right up.The pieces in this set are extremely functional, and it contains almost everything I need to cook. I had to separately purchase an inexpensive steamer and square griddle for pancakes, but that's it. The pots are a great size and shape. It left me wondering what I would use it for and what I would use to cook large family meals since there was nothing larger in other sets. This 6-quart deep sauté pan is exactly what I wanted. It replaces the one I had to get rid of and is the piece I use the most frequently. So glad Tramontina had the insight to make this piece larger and functional. I wish the frying pans had a larger surface area and less rim, but that's my only "complaint."

This set looks fantastic out of the box, and my husband who likes to cook much more than me was so excited to use them. He has been impressed so far, and says they cook so evenly. However, I am the one that washes them, and I am not a fan. They are so hard to clean! I get that I am used to nonstick, but we also use a lot of cast iron and that is way easier to clean even with having the extra step of seasoning it. I had seen that sometimes you may have to use Bar Keeper's Friend on these, and even with that sometimes I struggle to get them clean (and that is not anything burned or scorched on the pans, just from regular cooking). One time we did make something that slightly scorched and I literally spent 30 minutes cleaning the one pan!! Quality made and sturdy

Was gifted this set in 2021. Ended up being the absolute best cookware I've ever used. Quality made and sturdy. Cleans up very well. I mostly hand wash but the occasional run through the dishwasher doesn't seem to affect the finish.I do oil and season each item before used and very rarely cook on extreme high temps.As far as value, I've spent this much on single items from other 'high quality' brands and not been anywhere near a happy.
