They're a lot thinner, bendier and flimsier than you'd think. The metal itself is quite flexible and will bend with 3 moderate slices of picanha on it and the connection between the metal and the wooden handle is pretty soft too. I ended up having to use a grill grate under them, which might be acceptable for a regular skewer, but certainly not acceptable when sold as "churrasco" skewers.
