Tramontina Gourmet Tri-Ply Clad Fry Pan

Nice pan at a nice price. As some of the reviews have pointed out, the pan discolors on the inside with use. Washing doesn't remove the discoloration, but presumably a cleanser might. Tramontina recommends Barkeeper's Friend but I haven't tried it. Regardless, it's just cosmetic. The pan has a nice handle, is oven safe, and is induction range compatible. No complaints, especially at this price point.

Excellent Pan for the Value

This stainless steel fry pan has worked beautifully right out of the box. It has quickly become a workhorse in my kitchen. The key is to cook at medium heat or lower to achieve the desired browning. No need to cook high as you would with cast iron. Buy this fry pan!

Great pan

I love this pan. I was expecting a big learning curve with stainless steel (switching away from teflon bc I got tired of constantly replacing), but this guy heats really evenly and is fairly easy to clean -- even more if you have Barkeeper's Friend for those tough bits! It's helpful to preheat the pan for a little while on low/medium heat before adding oil. (And do be generous with the oil, of course!) I even make eggs in mine. Comfortable handle and not too heavy to maneuver either. Get this pan, it'll be a friend for life!

Much better than All-Clad Pans!

I had previously purchased an 8 inch All-Clad fry pan but found that the handle was awkward and uncomfortable to grab. The Tramontina pans however, have a very comfortable handle and I find that I can cook food at a much lower temperature. Even my husband is enjoying using this pan to make his morning eggs!

Over all solid pan

Dont have an amazing pan to compare it to but it seems to be well made and heats up relatively quickly. However, it heats up unevenly but I think that my stove might be to blame for that? Between that and it scratching to easily I gave it 3 stars. Oh and as far as size personally I can comfortably cook 5 whole eggs in it and max it 6 if need be no problem. Price was fair compared to other online options.

Perfect! NOT a "non-stick" pan.

I wanted a fry pan that DID NOT have non-stick coating. I like to cook and using a non-stick fry pan doesn't give you any of the little browned bits that stick to the bottom of this pan! Using it to sauté veggies, garlic, sear meats - this pan leaves behind those bits to scrape up and use in a sauce or gravy. So yummy!

Solid little pan

I'm tired of buying new non-stick pans and wonder how much of that coating we are eating. I bought a different brand larger stainless steel fry pan. Seems to be lacking so I decided not to be so cheap on this pan. It is definitely worth paying a little more. As I buy more stainless steel pots and pans, I'm going to stick with this brand.

Very even heat

Nice quality and even heat. This is not non stick so you have to use a little oil or spray oil. All non-stick pans require you use plastic utensils and no hotter than medium heat. I chose this option which will hopefully mean I don't have to replace the pan every two years and I can move the pan to the oven for some recipes.

Website discript and Use & Care Card contradict

10 in Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel Fry Pan arrived today. Washed with mild soap and immediately used it. Went back to Use & Care card that comes with it for cleaning, but then the temp rating caught my eye. Just did a filet mignon for 10 minutes at 450F, webpage says safe to 500F. Use & Care says 350F, so which is it? If its 500 you get 5 stars, if it's 350 I'm mad and it's1 star.

I read quite a few reviews and articles before purchasing this, Tramontina seemed to be a high quality affordable alternative to All-Clad. I've never owned a stainless skillet before. The skillet is very large, it takes up a little more than its share of my apartment's gas stove, but I usually end up using the whole cook surface. I haven't cooked eggs or fish in it yet but I have simmered sauces and otherwise cooked without much sticking. It's pretty easy to clean and I enjoy cooking with it. It's not too heavy and I like the handle shape.
