To be honest i wrongly ordered this hdd, i actually wanted the usb type-c connection but it is totally my fault - I reviewed the same series by many other sellers so I'd got confused with the product model number. Anyway, this 25M3 is good enough. The file transfer speed definitely way better than my other HDD and it has on-top transfer status pop-up box which is great, i dont have to keep changing window to check the transfer status. I love the sleek design, it's slim and light. Product recommended. Nice packaging by seller, delivery only took 2 days and using LEX 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽.

I had been wanting to get one of these for far too long. Don't wait as long as I did ! ! ! When I was first looking into one of these I was only actually considering a 1TB version. And, since this was my first one, I could still have gotten one of those for a little less cost, and probably much like yourself,, I'm on an iron-fisted budget,, which I seldom make an exception for.. ...but this time I did. I just installed a brand new USB 3.0 4-port PCI-Express based expansion card into a 2012 desktop running Windows 7 64-bit with a Duo-Core Intel based chip and 8 GB of RAM. When I simply inserted the USB 3.0 cable into the USB port (prev mentioned) nearly INSTANTANEOUSLY the taskbar (lower right area near system clock) popped-up the familiar Windows has discovered a ... PRESTO JUST THAT FAST.....all by itself And this EXTERNAL drive, using the SuperSpeed capabilities of USB 3.0, at least on my machine using a dedicated card exclusively handling those 4 USB ports, appears to perform at least as fast as my oriiginal installed INTERNAL hard drive. I cant say for a fact if it's actually faster or not, honestly, but I can say that whether working off one drive or the other what I dont see is any performance LAG. Doesn't exist. With a 1 GB EVGA $49 basic level add-on video card I can run saved movies/videos direct off this drive at any resolution on my LG 55 Widescreen HDTV monitor with FLAWLESS 1920 X 1080 resolution with no stutter, no stall, no hang, NO PROBLEM.. YOU'VE GOT TO GET ONE OF THESE - - - YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID !!! Thanks guys at B&H PHOTO for making this 5-Star OUTSTANDING product available at a realistic affordable deal, excellent fast shipping, received in immaculate perfect working condition brand new. P.S. The drive is good as long as you can get data to it, its fast for the price point and seems relatively sturdy though I wasn't going out of my way to drop it on things. However, and this is ridiculous for a drive that is marketed as being rugged, the connecting port built into the drive is ridiculously flimsy. I could feel it wobbling around every time I connected the drive. On top of that the included cable, which is the less common and more frustrating micro-B USB variety, is so short and tense that it's difficult to place the drive ANYWHERE without putting at least mild pressure on the port. Unsurprisingly, the port failed within less than 2 months of use. I have used a lot of portable drives in my work and I have never seen a port fail that quickly. Sad as I ... If they honor the warranty smoothly and quickly I may add a star but I've already been without the drive for too long and have no assurance that I will get back whatever data was on the drive that hadn't yet been backed up.

I already have a transcend HD from a couple of years ago. My new Transcend took a half an hour to format. Mac Utilities had some problems erasing HD in some cases not recognizing device and erasing errors. After several more tries I finally got an initialize disc request from my Mac and then was able to Erase/ Mac/journaled the Transcend HD. Not sure if their software is up to date with Mac 10.14.3 it sure was a hard to re-format! I dont see why their packaging or inserts do not contain fast start instructions, just tiny advertising, also the online resources are lacking ( although they did get back to me in 24 hrs.). Great product though. The hardware guys got it right! A real PISSER is the packaging and serial/model##s SO microscopic !!! Is this a conspiracy to ... I purchased this about 8 months ago specifically to backup my files. Every attempt to use the included program, Transcend Elite, ended in failure. I resorted to just copying folders. Today I decided to search for a solution online. Apparently everyone using Windows has this problem. Here's what I found on the Transcend website: "The Windows system drive (C:) contains many temporary program files and hidden system folders, causing a backup failure. If you want to back up files, we recommend manually selecting folders/files on the C: drive instead of selecting the whole C: drive." I decided to try Windows Backup software. This also failed. More reading online led me to another user reporting the same problem. The tech at Transcend software told this user that they had ... (1) Why bother putting out software that you know doesn't work? (2) I depend on this drive to back up my files. I need to know I can recovered my files if/when I need to. I will be buying a different hard drive for backup because I don't trust this one.
I am giving it 5 stars as this is my second Transcend Hard disk. The first was bought in April of 2013 and bought it for AED 349 at GITEX. Working fine. This new one is 2TB. On one of my MacBook it suddenly disconnects and computer shuts down. This happened twice while I was transferring data from MacBook to Disk. But on my other MacBook it has no issues. I will observe of the next few days and see.
Well my intentions purchasing this item was to download all my files, what I felt is important into my personal storage. What I have encountered is difficulties in downloading the materials. My Laptop keeps popping up with the message that the Recovery X is not found, or when I was downloading in progress it stop and message stated that it wasn't working or couldn't be found. I haven't tried going into the laptop and figuring out what might be causing that message, nor have I gotten in contact with the companies tech line, to discuss this issue I am having. It just might be my setting, who ever reads this and is simpler, I would contact the tech line and discuss this issue I am having, so they don't experience what I am experiencing. Hopefully this helps before ...
