I really like the robot and helicopter design work - it looks really good in both robot and helicopter mode. The weaponry and blades coming off the back are really cool, and the details in the copter mode are really good. The transformation, however, was absolutely no fun... it was too technical and picky - there are small plasticky clips for things to fit in, you have to bend arms and legs at odd angles for them to get them to fit and then the pieces pop in and out of position easily.. It took me over 30 mins to transform him the first time... I had to watch a video online of someone changing him to be able to complete he transformation, and I'm not even sure I did the legs completely right in helicopter mode. Blackout is finally as big and menacing as he was on screen. This figure stands tall over the other figures in the Studio series, and looks great on display in both modes. The transformation hinges in the robot mode shoulders are a bit tight, so care must be taken not to force them into position, lest you get stress marks. In any case, the figure is great, and a must have for any fan of the movies.

Both modes look fantastic. The transformation is fun.Only wish the wrists can turn for more poseability, and some panels can be locked more securely. After all, these are just minor improvements which most of people should be able to live without.100% recommend this figure.
Looks just as menacing as his movie counterpart, beautifully intricate and complex, maybe a little too complex BUT, his MH-53 Helicopter mode is STUNNING and is very well proportioned, colors and paint apps are perfect, bot mode is striking and accurate and the inclusion of Scorponok is obviously a plus. The only gripe I have is that his transformation is a little too complex for the structural integrity of the toy. The plastic feels cheap in some spots and you absolutely need to be careful with the sonar boom rod on the nose of the chopper, it is made of a soft plastic that is prone to stress cracking. All in all, this is the best Blackout EVER and I dont see what could be done better mold wise. 9/10
I was very happy with this figure. I have always been a fan of Blackout and still own my original 2007 movie figure and the variations on the mold. It looks very nice and is true to the character, quality is decent though it is a lot of extra plastic in robot mode in order to make it really shine in vehicle mode. As a display piece, it excels - as a toy it is still great but feels just a little like a high-end model kit. The tiny Scorponok is a nice touch. Definitely recommend this to all movie collectors.
This is by far the best movie accurate detailed Blackout transformer ever done!! I have all the Voyager Blackout transformers which are excellent and this leader class Blackout is even better!I bought Blackout while I was out one day and once I got him home opened it to amazement. He even has the arm weapon rotor blades attachment just like the movie.The helicopter mode is better with pieces fitting together more securely for a overall more realistic look.The robot mode is where the amazing difference is with more attention to perfect detail and accuracy from the movie.Bottom line this is a must have for all transformers fans collections.

One of the stars of the Studio Series so far! Looks beautiful in both modes, has a fun and engaging transformation, and scales well with his Decepticon pals. Many people have mentioned that some releases of this figure are prone to stress marks, but mine is looking good after a dozen or so transformations. Keep an eye out or those nonetheless. A great gift for any Transformers fan over 13.
This figure will stand the test of time, while I found that the transformation was not as enjoyable as Starscream, then end vehicle mode is very nice. The robot mode is also pretty nice with a great head sculpt but a little well placed dry brushing would been appreciated.you also get a small decent Scorponok. I's not perfect but I can see this one being sought long after it's gone
