This is my first new suitcase in many years, and it did not disappoint. It arrived in excellent condition, and appeared to be everything I expected. I especially liked the many pockets. I took advantage of the "hidden compartment" in the main area to hide an Apple Airtag, which gave me some confidence I could locate a "lost" bag. My empty weight was only 7 pounds, so I could easily stay within the airline limit. If I were able to take a carry-on here in my small town, I would purchase it from Travelpro - unfortunately they operate only small commuter flights here. My goal will be to make both short and long flights using just this one checked bag. Well done Travelpro!

I was traveling from the US to Italy for two weeks. My filled suitcase was heavy, 50 lbs. Was starting my trip , when I noticed that suitcase was very difficult to wheel- it would not roll well. Then I noticed it only had two wheels!! Who makes rolling , big suitcases with only two wheels??? This $187.00 suitcase is either headed to the curb trash pock up or Goodwill. Made my trip very difficult . Wish you had made this bag just like your carryon with four wheels.

This was my second purchase of this exact same bag. The first one is still in great shape even though it has been on many, many trips. Now my wife and I both have one. What I love about this suitcase is the amount of stuff that I can pack in it and still carry it on the plane. Both my wife and I have used it for business trips and been able to pack a week’s worth of clothes including multiple pairs of shoes.Highly recommend.

I hadn’t had a Travelpro in a while. Frankly, I was disappointed in the last one I had several years ago. I’m happy to say this bag seems well-made and appreciate the color options so crew isn’t confused and taking the wrong black bag with them. I’ve only used it 3 times but have found it having good utility. I was searching for a carryon size with just 2 wheels and this fits the bill perfectly. I have “front-loaded” it with my heavy stuff towards the handle and has so far refrained from tipping over. If it does, it’s off my own doing. I like the quick access convenience pockets. I’d give it a 10 but haven’t used it for long enough to justify it.
These are light indeed - we noticed how easy it was to pick up while still in the box they came in. Just 5.1lbs so it's 2-3lbs lighter than our old ones they replaced when we compared. On int'l trips for 3-4 weeks stays the extra pounds matter. The wheels are medium size and good rubbery feel to them - not just hard plastic like cheaper ones so they should absorb bumps and roll smoother over pavement. Not quite as well made looking at our Crew 11 Spinner Totes which feel and looks a notch above (including the handle). I looked into if these wheels can be upgraded with rollerblades wheels but it doesn't have the width clearance. We bought the rollaboard vs 4 wheels because of cobblestones overseas otherwise would have gone with the 4 wheels instead of easy movement ... We bought the rollaboard vs 4 wheels because of cobblestones overseas otherwise would have gone with the 4 wheels instead of easy movement in airports. My only wish was the bottom grip handle was plastic like they are with the Crew. On these it's just part of the nylon material making an overlap to sneak your fingers into - so it's very seamless and nicely designed actually (at first we didn't even noticed it) but with 50lbs inside I could see it becoming a weak point after a dozen trips by the airport crew. The material overall is nice and water resistance - a nice subtle pattern to them too. Such an upgrade over our old ones and given these are check-in luggages we didn't go with the Crew as we're older now, but if you travel often enough and still young (under 40), I may tell you go with the Crew for more lifetime durability.
I purchased the 20” and 22” MaxLite Carry-On pieces. I cannot offer a substantive travel comment because I have not yet travelled with them. However, I am very satisfied with their form and fit, and especially their light weight!! BOTH weighed in around 5.4 lbs. In contrast, my previous Travel Pro 20” and 22” pieces weighed 9 and 12 pounds, respectively…a Huge Difference. In fairness, I must point out that the older pieces were built like tanks…capable of surviving a Lot of airline travel, which they did with no issues or outward “scars”. I expect the new pieces perform as well, although they will likely experience more local, less strenuous travel.
One big negative: the handle is shaped allegedly ergonomically nicely, but I can’t get it into my personal item’s strap. Also, the latter’s strap is too small—nice and sleek aesthetically but useless when you need it. Otherwise, it is spectacular. No problem at all packing what you need in a carryon, but with the expansion and pockets, I am now using it as a checked bag on short hops when I don’t use a large suitcase. And it’s light! Highest ratings on everything except that handle. I’ve a good mind to take a hacksaw to it.
Love this carry-on. Have never had issues with it on board, even internationally. It is small enough and its design (a bit smaller at the top) keeps it from tipping over. I love 2-wheels vs 4 - I'm more agile, can walk faster, and don't block up foot traffic by occupying the space of two people side by side like one does with a spinner. The wheels are super-sturdy, and I've had no issues on European cobblestones. The wheels do not get caught or stuck going into elevators or trains like spinners do. Very smooth experience. The small pouch on the front is perfect for stashing boarding documents just before security. The side handle feels so cushy, and makes it super-easy to stash this in an overhead bin.Have packed in it for trips of 1-2 weeks, as I always make ... MoreLove this carry-on. This is our second MaxLite carry-on purchase, so although we haven't used it on a trip yet, I'm confident it will work perfectly. We've had our other for a year now, and it works great. We went with a rollaboard this time because the user is a little tough on suitcases and has broken a couple of wheels in the past. (Those were not Travelpro suitcases.) I'm hoping the rollaboard will hold up better because it can only be pulled in one direction. The MaxLite carry-ons have great space, extra pockets, easy to use handles and wheels, and they are very light. With some international airlines allowing only 7kg of weight for a carry-on, the lighter the suitcase, the better.
I travel a lot, domestic and international, for business and holidays, and I have always liked Travelpro luggage for its durability (I own an 18" and 22" Flightcrew 5 and a Platinum Elite Business backpack). Up to this point, I have been using my 22" for international travel, but it was always not quite large enough, so I decided to buy a larger check-in bag. The 26" Maxlite is a lot bigger than the 22" with not a lot of frills. I am finding that it is best used with packing cubes. The only thing I hate about travelpro is their wheels; they are not durable especially if rolling on uneven pavement or on hard street surfaces. Travelpro wheels just disintegrate. There is nothing worse than wheels falling apart when you are on a trip (it happened to me with my 22" and I ended up having to carry my luggage for the rest of the trip). I have replaced all my Travelpro bags with inline skate wheels and they are so much better both in durability and rollability. I don't understand why Travelpro hasn't changed its wheel design to inline polyurethane skate wheels. So I went ahead and replaced the wheels; although the Maxlite design makes it much harder to replace with non-OEM wheels (I am guessing Travelpro did this by design so users were stuck with using their wheels). I was ultimately able to source non-OEM wheels that worked brilliantly.
