Attractive compact hardshell carry-on, but may be too big if expanded

Overall this is an attractive, sturdy hard shell carry-on that is easy to organize your stuff with, particularly if you use small and medium sized packing cubes. It's small, but it has already given me trouble as a carry-on. I initially purchased this spinner for an upcoming European vacation, where I plan to have no checked bags. I went with the compact version because I want to make sure it fits in the overhead. To try it out, I used this on an East Coast trip, and had it expanded to fit in recent purchases and it was flagged by the ticketing agents as too large to fit in a domestic overhead bin. Carefully research airline size restrictions before purchasing!

Packing was very simple and I felt like I had plenty of space for the weekend. Both sides of the inside have zipped enclosures which makes it easier to pack without worrying anything will fall out when you later open it. I had a short weekend trip and I used American Airlines. Going through the airport, the carry on was easy to maneuver, but had the occasional snag on uneven surfaces and took more effort to roll through some carpeted surfaces. On tiled and other smooth surfaces, this suitcase glides like butter lol! I have not used the TSA lock personally. ... MoreFor the record, I’ve only used the carry-on portion of this set. The carry on fit in the overhead in each aircraft I used for my connecting flights. I did not see any obvious scuffs after my first set of flights. Packing and unpacking really felt simpler with this suitcase. I easily took this bag up and down stairs and I am not necessarily strong or fit lol. I admit this bag’s exterior does feel flimsy but so far it has been holding up very well.I paired this carry on suitcase with a travelpro tote (Maxlite 5 Women’s Tote) and I loved how easy this combination made it for my travel needs.I will update this review whenever I use the larger suitcase.

Great value for price
22 June 2023

I've taken it on one domestic trip now and it served me well! It held way more than I expected it could with the tiny size. The material was a bit more flimsy than I expected but it held up just fine. The wheels were sturdy and went over multiple surfaces well enough (carpet, tile, concrete sidewalk, bumpy parking lot) but when I had my personal item bag hooked over the handle it ended up a bit top heavy which made rolling it significantly more difficult. If I hit any crack or bump it would topple over so I had to be very careful. With such a small bag it's hard to avoid the imbalance but that's just the size it has to be! I don't travel often so this is a great piece for me and I expect it will last me a quite a few years for both airport and road trips.

I've taken it on one domestic trip now and it served me well! It has more than enough room for a week long trip (I could have fit even more) and kept everything in position with the zippered pockets. It was very lightweight so i was able to get lots packed without going over on wright. However, the material was a bit more flimsy than I expected so I can see how some people have had issues with durability. It held up for me with some light scratching that is only noticeable from certain angles due to the pattern of the material. The flimsiness also means that it can be difficult to zip sometimes. The top will get stuck overlapping with the bottom instead of lining up when closed so it has to be lifted up to line it up properly to get it to zip. Would not recommend, very cheaply built, comically poor quality. Bag was destroyed after a one-way trip! The top of the suitcase and the front of the suitcase cracked during transit. To top if off, the handle snapped off while wheeling the suitcase for my return trip. I have never had a suitcase break so quickly, what a disappointment. I purchased the warranty and reached out to customer service a week ago and am still yet to hear back from them, very slow communication. Hoping that this was just a defective product and not a reflection of TravelPro's products as a whole, but at this time I would not recommend this brand to anyone. Problem with LOCK

I purchased a carry on then the set of another carry on plus medium bag. Had a real problem with carry on and setting Lock once bag was packed with code , it wouldn't open, Had to go to U tube for help which didn't help. Ended up taking bag to TSA to open bag.Someone did look at bag afterwards and felt that there was a problem with the mechanics of it before we packed it and then couldn't open. Now, the bag is being used but cannot be locked and because of what happened I'm afraid it will happen with the other bags.Otherwise I love the bags and how easy they are to travel with but wish we didn't have that first experience with the lock and the frustration of packing for a trip to Paris with a bag that you couldn't open. In 2008 I received a Travelpro Crew rollaboard as a graduation gift and used it until late last year when the rubber finally came off one of the wheels (the suitcase itself is still in great shape!). I had been wanting an international carry-on size for my honeymoon later this year, and decided to invest in a new carry-on. I looked into a few other brands, but returned to Travelpro since my soft-sider is still in such great shape (and the warranty). I recently used this suitcase on a trip to Mexico and had such an easy time with it to the point I was saying "I'm so glad that I got this!" or "this is so easy!" to my fiancé anytime we were walking anywhere for more than 5 minutes. The spinner wheels roll great
24 July 2023

The spinner wheels roll great on hard surfaces, but do get a little tougher on anything carpeted (think the transitions from hotel lobbies to room hallways). Our 2 year old daughter loves to ride on top holding onto the handles, and I was wondering if you have any seat back attachments? I've seen these on some other brands, but wasn't seeing that on your website. I love that the outer shells are hard but still have some flex to them. The only complaint my husband had was that there wasn't a good way for the handle on the top to be centered on the case, so this did make lifting the loaded case by that handle slightly more awkward due to balancing. Not sure if this could be resolved by making one side of the case deeper than the other? Overall, we're pleased with this ... MoreThe spinner wheels roll great on hard surfaces, but do get a little tougher on anything carpeted (think the transitions from hotel lobbies to room hallways). When I got the suitcase

When I got the suitcase I was surprised by how thin and flexible the plastic case felt, but I’ve had good experiences with my existing TravelPro suitcase and figured they knew better than I do. However, when I claimed the bag after its maiden voyage one of the corners was bashed in and crumpled. The damaged corner was the most loosely packed, and I wonder if that was related. On the return trip I was careful to stuff all corners snugly and there was no additional damage—I will be very hesitant to leave any empty space when packing this suitcase going forward.Other than that, the suitcase was easy to maneuver.
