RC superstore did an awesome job with packing, shipping and protecting the rc. This is a great RC car for the price. I have always had a rustler and this is a great deal. Not only are the bumpers and lights awesome this kit comes with the 272 Magnum transmission that's in the VXL-3s systems. Meaning that this RC will take the brushless power when converting electrical components. Over all a 10/10!!!

My kid drives this things so hard... off ramps, flips it over Back, front and sideways, wheelies galore, gets it stuck under the shed bending the antenna. Besides some scrapes on the cover, no real damage. I am a single mom and this is my first real nice RC car, I was nervous it would be complicated, but it was just about ready to go out Right of the box. Just made sure it was charged, read some directions and away way we went.O... and it was raining. They DO NOT supply an adequate charger or system. You must purchase a separate block for charging, after spending $200plus I would expect to be able to charge out of the box!!! Can not use new iPhone chargers, lightening chargers etc.

It got a little frustrating on the way because this isn’t the type of thing with directions but my son and I had an amazing sense of accomplishment when we got it to work and now understand how to fix the front of the car.This car has made me realize that I need a hobby. This car is 27 years old with current design and configuration being 10 years.This is a sturdy vehicle that comes with some good extras. As a stock car it will provide hours and hours of fun. I find that this car handles extremely well even while "bashing". Runs well on dirt tracks, flat surfaces and in a skate parks ( be careful on high jumps in course).On the negative side this car is fair in grassy surface (do not think it is built for that kind of terrain like most stadium trucks).Could use a few upgrades to give longer run time and durability ( i.e. heat sink, battery replacement, wheelie bar, front and aluminum shock towers and suspension bars.
Perfect first hobby grade car. Got one for my youngest (6). Had to get a second for my 8 yr old. Almost unbreakable and plenty quick.
Please before you consider buying this awesome car please consider buying a wall charger. If you're reading this I know your wondering why am I saying this. The reason i'm saying this is because the thing comes with a charger that you can only use in the car! I know right, how dumb is it to sell a RC car that can only charge in the car unless if you buy a wall charger for it. Other than that this car is still a spectacular piece of machinery. I do recommend it, but beware, if you or the person your buying this for is new at the hobby please don't go crazy with it because you will crash the thing so bad, trust me, I even broke the bumper! only drive this in big parks or skate parks. We purchased two of these cars (Traxxas Rustler XL-5 RTR RC Truck) to race around the parking lot of our veterans home and they are tons of fun. Our veterans are mostly elderly and they took to them like they had been driving RC cars their whole lives. If you have never used an RC car before and are looking for a fun hobby, this is a perfect car for you. It has a training mode which cuts the speed in half and is very handy to get the hang of things. The Rustler is very rugged and has no problem driving over bumps and grass, gravel and puddles. It is a great pick for someone looking for fun.
Just talked with my son yesterdayI and he battery started on fire. Glad he caught it so he didn’t burn his house down. I was really disappointed since two friends of ours have these same cars and highly recommended your cars. I was going to contact you on Tuesday when you were open again.
Amazing for an entry level model. I got this for my husband and he hasn’t gone back to video games since receiving this present. He crashed it the first day and has fun rebuilding the parts he breaks.
