I find this is a good product to add to the water to deter the build of plaque, but only if you also have a good brushing routine. The Tropiclean wont deter plaque without an added routine of good brushing. This seems to help with the breath when it can be a bit on the nose.

We started using this for our 5 month old Corgi puppy and it absolutely works! I started out by using half of what is recommended so he’d get used to it (they say there is no taste but I figured I’d slowly introduce it to him anyways), and he is now 11 months, has fresh breath and just had a vet check-up and they complimented how beautiful and healthy his teeth are. No buildup or plaque and we don’t brush his teeth, just use this additive. So it has definitely worked for us! Will be switching over to the adult version soon and continue to use this.

The Tropiclean water additive definitely keeps our puppy’s breath fresh. We also noticed that she has much less tartar buildup on her teeth. Fortunately she does not notice that it is in her water.

Bought this b/c my mom's Cavalier does quite well with it. It did not agree with my puppy at all! He started having watery stool and then throwing up his food, and the only change in his diet was when we started adding this to his water (and we didn't even start with the full amount). One of the cats also drank from his bowl a couple times, and also threw up later that day. So this product is a hard pass for us.
I bought this product a few days ago, and decided to start out with a very small amount of just 1/4 cupful in 8 oz of water as my yorkie is only 7 lbs. After a couple days I noticed my dog, which is completely house trained, started peeing inside, right in front of us like he didn't even realize what he was doing. I had come across another review before I bought this product that had mentioned the exact same thing, but I didn't think much about, UNTIL NOW!!, I have no idea which ingredient in this product that caused this, but I stopped using it immediately and am so glad that I at least started out with a very small amount in the water!
Truth be told, I don't know if this is a gimmick or not, but I believe it makes a difference. We have two senior animals and a puppy that drink from the same bowl. The senior cat and dog seem to have better breath when we remember to use this regularly, so we keep using it.
My 5yr old Exotic does not chew his food and is very fussy due to this he has shown signs of plaque, however he loves his water drinking and splashing in it so I thought I would try, I didn't hold out much hope due to his fussiness, however he seemed to love it, I will now try it in the communal cat water bowl so my other 2 cats can benefit from it. Everything helps!
I purchased this after reading many good reviews. However,I didn't really see any significant change in my dogs breath. It's probably just one of them things as by reading the reviews it's seemed to have worked on many other dogs. Shes hasn't got bad teeth either so I might try another similar product.
Unfortunately my pup has zero interest and knows something in his water! So My little man much rather me brush his teeth and gets way more excited with teeth cleaning. I advise if your trying this buy as small of one as possible and save your money.
I have used the full bottle, and Baxter still has fish breath so have had his bloods done for liver and kidney function, no probs there. Stopped his omega 3 & 6 to no avail. So fresh breath water was no use. Only value for money if it works.
