I have been using this helmet for a few weeks and I am very impressed with it. I am normally a less than $100 helmet buyer because they are such a one time use (impact) item but as I get older I feel that it is more important to invest in safety. This helmet has a much more premium feel than past helmets I have had. The shell doesn't feel like a "shell" it feels like part of the helmet, if that makes sense, and that carries throughout the helmet, the multi layer foam is all one solid piece, the removable padding is easy to take out and replace.Airflow on this helmet is awesome!! I sometimes feel like it's not even on with how much air flows past my head. Something my cheaper helmets didn't do.The visor is adjustable and removable with just 3 little hand screws and gives good coverage without blocking airflow. The helmet fit can be adjusted using the wheel on the tension band on the back. Just be sure to measure your head and use the sizing chart online at the TLD website and you should be fine.Included with this helmet is a protective bag which is well thought out with a microfiber side that touches the shell and a mesh bottom that allows the helmet to dry while stored away. A sticker pack is also included. The only thing I would change on this helmet is the clasp. Some helmets use the magnetic clasps and that has spoiled me. No lining up just put the clasps together and they lock. This helmet using old school pinch clasps.

Beautifully designed and really well made and burly, the A2 helmet is such a great fitting and great looking helmet. It's craftsmanship is second to none. I'm on my second one, due to a bad crash I took, that didn't even touch the helmet itself, but just the visor. I bought one in case they decided to get rid of this design, as despite being a little hot and not that great on ventilation, it's so sturdy and well built, that I was afraid on not being able to get another one. The only thing I'd have to hit it on is that sweat drips right into your eyes/glasses during hot weather.I tried the new A3 MIPS, which didn't quite fit right, due to the new dual sizing(eg. XS/S, M/L, ect.). However, I do think that the new forehead sweat diverting pad is a good touch on the ... MoreBeautifully designed and really well made and burly, the A2 helmet is such a great fitting and great looking helmet. I didn't care for the new magnetic buckle on the new A3 though-I want to feel and audible lock....Overall though, I'll put up with the lack of a forehead sweat diverter, because I like the sizing and looks on the A2 much better. Great helmet and now the price came down as well, and they are giving you another spare helmet pad, just like the new A3 MIPS.

I needed an updated helmet. This one in M/L fit my head well with only minor adjustments. I fell riding around a corner a few weeks ago, elbow scrapped up. I had no idea that I hit my head also, this helmet did not shift around at all in the fall and it saved me from injuring my head on the gravel. Minor scrapes to the helmet. Much better the helmet than my head. I recommend this helmet for quality and proper fit.

I found a helmet! I lost count of how many helmets I tired on (30?). None of them really fit my head, and/or the retention mechanism didn't clear my prescription glasses (Oakley Jaw Bone frames with Rx lenses). Jenson had a sale on these and I took a gamble...I'm glad that I did. It fits my head well, and the retention mechanism doesn't interfere with my glasses. The ventilation is way better than the helmet that it replaced. It feels light, especially since it has more rear head protection. The strap material is a little more coarse than I would like (I'm working on that). The strap splitters are nice. The retention system is a little tough to access in the furthest up and rearward position (not a big deal because I don't need to adjust on rides anyway). I got the ... MoreI found a helmet! I’ve been riding with Troy Lee A2 helmets for several years and did some real time testing during that time. The last real test was a few weeks ago when I fell off the wet wooden bridge and hit my head on the tree trunk. The helmet was broke through and through but I sustained no injury and was able to finish the race. The same helmet was ordered that evening. Thank you Troy Lee, you have a life and an alive customer 😊
I decided to go with the A2 based on safety ratings I had seen. I am very satisfied with the purchase. The finish and quality are second to none. Construction is solid yet not heavy. I was in between sizes and opted for the larger one and I made the right choice, it has plenty of room for adjustment to the lower sizes in it's range. Fit is great, no pressure points yet snug. Can't go wrong with this helmet.
I recently bought an electric mountain bike, that I will use for hunting. This is the first bike I’ve had in 20+ years. I knew before I got the, I was going to get a Troy Lee Design helmet.I’ve got several friends that ride downhill and they both trust and wear a TLD helmet. The MIPS safety feature is comforting as well. If, and when I need another helmet, it’s an easy decision.
Being in my late 30’s, I’ve worn a variety of a variety of helmets. When it comes to this bicycle helmet, hands down, best one! It is lightweight and fits so comfortably, I can’t even tell I have it on! The chin strap is equally comfortable. Again, I appreciate the fit, along with the quality. Lastly, the website was easy to navigate and find what fit the best.
This helmet arrived quickly (within just a few days). It’s very nice looking. I chose it because it was on a list of safe helmets and for the MIPS technology. I also wanted the bright color for visibility. It was packaged in a pleasant way to protect the helmet. I have a big head but not a huge head and the xl/2xl fits. It can also be tightened too big or too small for my head. The visor came attached to the helmet. The buckle is fine, just a normal buckle. I really like how the helmet looks- smooth. Now I need a warm day to try it out!
I will start off by saying I don't have a ton of time under mountain bike helmets. I only got into MTB a few years ago, and so far have used an older Giro, a second hand Fox, a Fly Freestone and now this A2. This helmet practically disappears once the cranks start turning. With all the rest, there was always something fiddly that kept their presence known at all times. I only have to mess with this one when I want to undo the buckle to take it off. Way more airflow than I have experienced so far! nice and cool! I'm not into shaving grams or racing, I didn't check the weight before buying. I'm just an old dude that wants his kit to be functional, unobtrusive, and look good. Obviously YMMV, but for me it works fantastically.
