These have changed. The Velcro fly is now a zipper, the material is a little different and they run a little bigger but I still like them better then other brands I have. The big downside to these is that for the 2nd time in ordering a 34 waist the liner shorts that come with it are literally more like a 28 and I am not exaggerating. You won't be able to wear them. I couldn't even get them on and the shorts themselves are a little on the big side for me. It will be the last time I buy these.

I am a retired man who loves to go on 15-20 mile treks on my road bike. I am 6' & 185 lbs, and I bought the size 36: it fits me perfectly. I own 3 top-end biking shorts, all from different companies: the TLD Skyline is my favorite by far. It hits the sweet spot in terms of the fabric not being too heavy nor too light. The 2 zippered side pockets are substantial ones. The attached liner is snug yet comfortable. Unlike some other brands with ostentatious labeling, the Skyline's markings are subdued and handsome. I could tell from taking it right out of the packaging that this was a quality product. I recommend it highly.

Fits well and look good but has problems

This item was the Editor’s Choice in the Outdoor Gear Lab review. I beg to differ. The shorts fit well but the Zoic Ether is a superior offering for less money. The Zoic includes a zippered rear pocket while the Troy Lee does not. Troubling was the fact that the loops which allow the liner to be attached to the shorts broke on the first wearing. Replaced by the merchant at no charge but it was still a hassle.

GOOD Shorts. NOT Great!
22 November 2021

I have bought a few pairs of Troy Lee shorts recently due to increased riding and reduced waist during COVID. I have noticed a few things.1. The materials have gotten a lot cheaper. The materials are thinner, less flexible and not as robust as they were only a couple years ago.2. The have features removed. For example, zippered vents, extra zippered pockets, etc.Now for these shorts. They are made from a VERY thin material compared to other TLD shorts. I ride near a lot of thigh high shrubs, SoCal and Utah, and crash on granite, Utah. Now saying that, they have not yet torn but they are not my go to shorts either. These shorts to me are kind of a hybrid XC type short and definitely will not accommodate knee pads; well at least my MTB thighs won't allow them. So, ... MoreI have bought a few pairs of Troy Lee shorts recently due to increased riding and reduced waist during COVID. TLD used to be my go-to, but it is my opinion they are taking advantage of the name and lowering quality of materials and features to increase profit and hopefully no one will notice. I noticed.

Love these shorts! Crashed yesterday
28 March 2023

Love these shorts! Crashed yesterday and they held up great. The material and the fabric allows them to breath . Just keep the zipper on the pockets slightly open. The weather in Florida is already cooking and i have no worries wearing these shorts. I can't wear liners in shorts so the no liner option is great. Would recommend to everyone. The skyline jersey is a great pairing and drys quickly.

Sizing Is Off
9 June 2023

Out of the bag, I'm pleased with the shorts themselves. They are a good fit. However the liner is ridiculously small. I ordered a 34 and the shorts definitely fit like a 34 and no complaints with fitment but the liner feels like a 30 even though the attached tag says 34. I do understand these liners are supposed to have a snug fit, but this is beyond snug, it is cutting off circulation. I don't know what the solution is because if I up-size to accommodate the liner, I will be swimming in the shorts themselves. Not quite sure yet what to do.

Skyline shorts -MTB
20 July 2023

Nice shorts. Fit is great. Stays put where it should. Pockets are good. Did have a minor pokey piece at the bottom of the pocket zipper in 1 pair out of four. found it and trimmed it with flush cutters. All good now. Great fit and taper for riding MTB. Good value when on clearance. Love em and are my main riding shorts

TLD Skyline shorts and liners
23 May 2023

I used to love TLD shorts and liners! They have changed for the worst. The liners are different with a blue chamois and the sizing is way too small! The older style with the green chamois were the best liners ever!.Not sure if they are made somewhere different now or just made using cheaper materials?Long story short I had to return them.

TLD for the win
5 June 2023

This must be my 7th or 8th pair of TLD mountain bike shorts. And as usual, the Skyline does not disappoint. The fabric is sturdy yet not too heavy. The fit is spot on. I am a size 34 waist, and this size Large short is perfect. The pockets are roomy and zip closures are great. The leg length is perfect. This and the Skyline Air Short are my go to styles for mountain biking.

They run a little small
23 August 2023

Overall happy with them. They are replacing an old pair of TLD shorts I've had forever. They are size 32 and still fit. I realize I am old an fat. But I ordered these in 32 and could not get the snap done up. So I swapped them out for 34. Waist is good. But now I find them a little long. They get caught on my knee pads when I pedal. Im going to have the shortened. Other than that, they are cool
