The Truma Saphir comfort reverse cycle (Rc) is a powerful storage compartment air conditioning system that cools very quickly and efficiently. In cooling mode, the Truma Saphir also dehumidifies and cleans the air with integrated fluff and particle filters. Thanks to the reversible cooling circulation system it can also be used as a heater with a heat pump. I have installed this in my Avan under the bed. Very easy to install, all done in a couple of hours.
Each to there own. Both have the pros & cons. Re Roof air conditioning over internal Air conditioning With mine was weight to the roof and I had the space area inside the van.
The template supplied accurately positions air intake/outlet. Make sure you are aware of any structure/services below the floor before marking out & cutting. Not sure if lagging or duct insulation was available as it would reduce condensation before air conditioner has a chance to dry the air. The 3 ducts are just a push fit into the manifold, I a piece of timber close by & used the packing strap to support & lock the ducts in place. I ran the unit 24hrs for 10 days straight whilst working away. A necessity for a good nights sleep. Whilst a very quiet unit, I would recommend it be installed at the foot of the bed. Works well with easy to follow instructions. Hopefully many comfortable years of caravanning to come, Cheers, Curtis
