I've tried several different snowshoes and these are exactly what I need. I use these for SAR work off trail carrying a 30+ lb pack in addition to my own 210lbs. The combination of weight, capacity grip and the bindings are perfect for my use.

I've got to say I'm really impressed with these snow shoes. These things have it all. Comfy flex built into the body makes it conform to the snowy terrain even if you're at a weird angle. The traction is top notch! I was hiking with a friend who had some rental MSR's and I was sticking where they were sliding. Despite the aggressive tread though I never felt like I was having to work hard to move these things forward. The holes in the back help to clear snow easily while also adding some more traction (You can never have too much). I got the chance to use the heel bar and it made a huge difference when climbing steep or nearly vertical trail features. I weighed around 165ish with all my gear and only on the most powdery of pow did I find myself wishing I had more ... MoreI've got to say I'm really impressed with these snow shoes. Finally, the crown jewel of these shoes is the binding system. Extremely easy to use with no pressure points. They're on and ready to go in no time!

It is a good one, the build quality is much better than the one sold in Costco. However, if you have a small foot like me ( US size 7), you should find a smaller one ( probably the female one), as it won’t fit the shoe in an aligned way.

These are much lighter than my former pair and have superior traction, especially on steep slopes. They are very easy to carry attached to my pack, and they have served me well for alpine outings when I am transitioning back and forth between snowshoes, crampons, etc. The only flaw is how loud they are, especially on snow with a crunchy surface. It’s almost not tolerable in certain situations. As great as they are, I hesitate to use them unless I absolutely need to.
The Tubbs Flex VRT is an awesome snowshoe. Theyre super aggressive which works great for steep climbs/descents like youll find in peak bagging or mountaineering situations. The fact that theyre flexible takes a lot of the shock load out of situations where you find yourself on rocks/roots/boulders in situations mentioned above. The binding is super quick and easy, far superior to the previous system like on my Flex ALPS. Doesnt loosen up and is quicker to get in/out of. I cant recommend these enough to people.
Not only are the snowshoes good, but the customer service is amazing. My strap broke last year on my snowshoes who are 8 year olds. I write to them and no questions asked, they send me a replacement part for free.
Yesterday, after receiving my VRTs/29" in one day from Backcountry (thanks to a Super Gearhead name Hannah), I took them to my hill. Central Idaho conditions were fresh pow 54"-74" on untracked slopes of 30+degrees to 40+degrees; temp 4degrees; my sunny dream day with new avalanche warnings in area. New TUBBS shoes feature improved BOA bindings. I rate new bindings 5-Star. No longer have to unwind after use; merely un-lock and lift top foot binding pad, which now has cushioned rubber top pad, then exit by merely removing foot - and that's a major improvement from early BOA bindings. VRTs at 29" PERFECT for powder conditions. Using poles I broke in three miles uphill trail on first day. VRTs have new steel side rails from under foot to tail and a very sharp steel crampon underfoot. New heel strap adjustment perfect. WARNING: Crampon/rails very sharp and can punch holes in carpet or mar wood floors. Suggest binding adjustments be made on concrete or outside decking. Will update in January, 2023. bcyoung.
These snowshoes are perfect for hiking in the Adirondacks in the winter. The claw is spectacular. It grabs right on to the ice. I absolutely love the binding. Omg so easy to put in and off! These seem durable enough to last for many years to come.
works well. true to colour. the heel strap is a bit finicky. overall useful
on my 1st walk with a friend who snowshoes often.i noticed my friends feet sliding around on his snowshoe ..... . He also had to take his off to cross icy rocks. He was so impressed with mine he ordered the exact same pair on the trail!!!!! I originally was looking at a $500 pair but it had 1 bad review from a professional guide that said this $300 was superior in every way possible...... Im very happy I checked the reviews and researched this product before buying
