I have always been a big fan of Tumi and this suitcase has not disappointed. It is a high-quality item and whilst only medium size, you can get a huge amount in it.
I personally love this suitcase and the features it provides. Packed for a 6-day work trip where I had to bring 3 pairs of shoes, two sport coats, dress shirts, polos, casual shirts, jeans, and casual pants. I fit all of that plus additional clothing for my extended stay. The capacity and functionality is outstanding with the integrated extensions and garment bag.The biggest downside is the weight. If you read other reviews this is a common theme. In my opinion, the bag should be 3-5 pounds lighter. If you pack it full you will come close to the 50 pound weight limit with airlines. At this price point, you should have the weight savings combined with the features being offered.I have no doubts as far as durability is concerned. I upgraded from a similar Tumi ... I love Tumi luggage but must admit there are differences between the Tumi styles in luggage. The Merge line is less expensive but it shows when you feel it and look at its features. The Arrive line looks very cool but you pay a steep price for its looks without added features. I find the Alpha 3 line to be the best of both worlds-looks nice with high quality construction and high end features. Highly recommend.
Great bag. As always with Tumi Alpha line, wheels are excellent and rolls extremely well. Well engineered - enjoy the expandability and the new integrated locks.Fully expect this bag to serve me well for years to come.I'd love for it to be a pound or two lighter, but only if it didn't come at the expense of the quality or durability.
My wife tends to pack a lot of things, and our previous bag was a bit challenging for her to get everything in that she wanted to pack for trips. I decided to get this bag, since it was the largest Tumi bag I could find. Home run! She loves the bag, and she can pack away to her heart's desire and still have room left over. She particularly likes the four-wheel design, which makes moving the bag through the airport easier. She also likes the locking zippers of this bag.
I have several different sized Tumi suitcases and I love them all. My oldest suitcase is 15+ years old and I keep using it when I can manage with a 2-wheeled suitcase.I am so excited to use this Tumi Short Trip Packing Case...large enough for a 3 week trip, 4 wheels that move smoothly and it's expandable. I love the side supports so the suitcase is elevated off the ground and doesn't get dirty when it is placed on its side.The only gift I wanted for Hannukah/Christmas!
I had earlier bought the Extended Trip version of this same bag. Used it once. I only packed that one 2/3 full, and I already was above Delta's checked weight limit. That and my items sloshed around everywhere. (Ended up giving it to a family member after just one trip).Enter this bag. Perfect for the single traveler who is not putting multiple pairs of shoes inside and knows how to pack. Totally filled it and was within the international checked bag weight allowance. Plus, everything just fit better together for a 7-10 day trip. (If you are going longer, you may need a larger suitcase).
