The Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 2 Max are probably the most comfortable, great sounding, and great fitting headphones that I have tried in a while. I immediately became a fan of these headphones because of how comfortable they are and how great they sound. It was super cool and even helped me get some more kills.Flip-Up Microphone – This is pretty much self-explanatory. You can flip up the microphone when it is not needed and the audio quality is nice and clear even on phone calls, no issues there.WEAR – The headphones are lightweight, durable, and super comfortable. The ear cushions are made of plush memory foam infused with a layer of cooling gel to keep you comfortable for extended wear. I used these for a few gaming sessions which lasted a few hours, and they were super comfortable. The headset is designed for be glasses friendly and are also adjustable for a better fit.Battery Life and Charing – These headphones have a battery life of about 40+ hours. The headphones are rechargeable with the provided USB-C cable. Now, I haven’t tested out the full battery life to see if it lasts the full 40 hours but for my gaming sessions that last about 4 to 5 hours they work flawlessly.Overall, these headphones are simply amazing. They are super comfortable, they sound great especially with 3D audio with PS5 and are versatile. Probably the only pair you will ever need.

I am very disappointed with the product and overall performance. I had the cheap model, stealth 600 for Xbox series x/s before I purchased the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max as an “upgrade”. I am much more impressed with the cheap model, considering price, performance, and durability. They lasted me about 2-3 years until the plastic broke and they started to cause an echo if i was in a party with friends (they could hear themselves). I purchased the new pair with hopes of getting rid of the echo, finally having 3d spacial audio, and at least be able to control the audio settings better to minimize the echo. I paid $130 for the new pair and the cheap pair cost me $70. Since I have bought the new pair, I have still experienced echoing while partied up with friends. We tested ... Any plastics used in the headset are high-grade, not thin cheap stuff. Some of it has an almost rubberized feel to it, other pieces have a nice matte finish. Depending on the level of anger, a "throw all your stuff around" rage-quit is not an automatic death sentence for this device.For comfort, much attention was paid to those marathon-session type gamers. Generous padding on the underside of the headband and in the earmuffs will stay comfortable for quite a while. The padding that touches the side of your head and around your ears is a spandex-like breathable material, which should prolong the amount of time before you succumb to the dreaded sweaty-ear rage. I mean, for Pete's sake, the instructions even include how to adjust their trademarked glasses relief system, which was no small engineering feat. It really does seem like they thought of every feature a gamer could want when it comes to comfort.When it comes to sound, they are good, above average. These aren't designed for audiophiles though: they are meant for gamers. As such, there are specific features that gamers will appreciate to help elevate their game, like adaptive sound levels for particular game events (think hearing footsteps amplified in a first person pvp shooter). I haven't tested these features yet, but they are definitely intriguing for the right scenario. I also appreciate the "flip mic up to mute, down to unmute" feature, the ability to accept a call via bluetooth, and other features that put this headset over the top.Overall, they meet or exceed features you would want in a set of headphones alone, but they surpass anything I've ever had in a gaming headset though, indicative of the premium nature of this product. For any serious gamer that has the budget, I would definitely recommend.

This second generation of the sleek & affordable Stealth line fixes almost all of them, as well as adding in a few new tricks.Build quality is above average, though not exceptional. The frame is pretty much all plastic with only a couple of metal parts, and has a soft matte finish that doesn't pick up much in the way of fingerprints. There are a few metal parts in the headband, but all the other accents are painted on. The earcups are thick and held on with friction-fit pins and are designed with an eye towards user serviceability, so if one happens to get damaged fitting a ... The frame is pretty much all plastic with only a couple of metal parts, and has a soft matte finish that doesn't pick up much in the way of fingerprints. There are a few metal parts in the headband, but all the other accents are painted on. The earcups are thick and held on with friction-fit pins and are designed with an eye towards user serviceability, so if one happens to get damaged fitting a replacement should only require a few minutes time and the appropriate spare part. Weight is significant - more than you'd typically expect from a nearly all plastic headset to be honest - but is carried well by the adjustable headband. And there's plenty of room built in as well - it fit my XXL-sized head with plenty of adjustment to spare. There's even a feature designed to let you create a little channel for glasses to pass through along the side of your head, accomplished by pulling off the earcups and tightening a little rubber band that's wrapped around the cushion beneath the cover. It's a fine idea, but I'll admit that when I tried it the channel it created was a little too high to actually accomplish much in the way of strain relief.Things improve somewhat when moving on to core functionality though. The previous model of Stealth boasted a very rich audio experience with a reasonably good surround sound effect when paired with the right hardware, and this new model lives up to the example set by its predecessor. It's got two basic modes for gaming that can influence the sound. "Superhuman hearing" (which is on by default) is tuned to accentuate ambient sound effects typically used in gaming (footsteps, gunshots, etc) to relay a character's position relative to you. Listening to music or audio from a video with this mode on can be a little weird, as random bits of audio suddenly make themselves a lot more well known, but it's certainly not a bad experience. And if you want to use a more straightforward equalizer setting you can simply hit the mode switch to switch to the default setting, which offers much more balanced (if somewhat bass-heavy) audio. Quality is very good with both the dongle and Bluetooth. The mic is good as well, though I'll admit that I found myself a little less impressed with it compared to the quality of the playback. I think the main reason isn't the quality of the mic being used, as it sounded fine when I just had it sitting on my desk, but rather the fact that it does have somewhat limited adjustability when you're wearing it. On device controls include a local volume wheel (which does not provide software volume control in windows, in case you were wondering) and a second wheel that you can remap in software, a mode switch, and a dedicated Bluetooth pairing button. It also includes a feature that some may find quite handy: the ability to accept a signal from both the receiver and a Bluetooth device simultaneously. I'll admit that I've yet to find a very compelling use case for this, particularly as balancing the volume of the two sources is quite tricky, but if you ever wanted to have a Zoom meeting with a custom soundtrack this is the device for you. Mapping custom controls and fine-tuning the equalizer settings can all be accomplished via a mobile app that works over the Bluetooth connection, another nice touch albeit one most will probably use just once before forgetting about it entirely.There are a few small areas for improvement going forward. The Bluetooth pairing process and the documentation around it isn't great, for example. According to the instructions you simply have to hold the Bluetooth button down until it goes into pairing mode, but this won't actually do anything but turn the Bluetooth receiver off. In fact you have to turn Bluetooth on, hold the button down for a few more seconds to turn it on again, and keep holding it until you get the pairing notification. The fact that the volume wheel on the back of the headset isn't software enabled makes it something of a rarity in modern wireless peripherals as well, and can potentially lead to some annoyance if it's been accidentally turned down too much before you start. Despite this, I still find it a lot easier to recommend this improved version of the Stealth 700.

So, right from the manufacturer, this will work, if you re-arrange your home and turn off every other wireless device you own (they specifically mentioned - computers, tablets, phones, smart TV’s, smart lights, bluetooth speakers, wireless soundbars, etc… even that I should unplug any wall-wart power supplies I have). I’m sorry, but in what world would anyone be ok with that? Further, I live in a building with lots of neighbors, so am I supposed to knock on doors and request that everyone turn-off/unplug their stuff everytime I want to game. Sorry Turtle Beach, you messed this one up and this is the last product I’ll buy from you. I already replaced with a Steel Series that has all the same features, but has yet to have volume/connection issues.

I was a bit doubtful about the stealth 700 as the arm doesn't go out as far but it does a surprisingly good job of picking up my voice and blocking out background noise. A nice touch is to mute the mic, it only needs to be raised about 2 inches vs the h3 needs to be raised most of the way up. Controls. WHY TURTLE BEACH MUST YOU PUT THEM ON THE LEFT EARCUP???!!! I use this 99% of the time on PC, so maybe console players use the left one? IDK but it's annoying if you're in the middle of a game you have to stop moving if you want to mess with settings. The h3pro has the volume wheel where it should be, the right ear cup. Buttons and settings, the stealth has a lot more. The top wheel is volume, and the lower wheel you can set it for different things, I have it set for Bluetooth volume. You can also turn off/on Bluetooth by holding down the Bluetooth button, which you can't do with the EPOS. FYI with the EPOS you can't listen to just Bluetooth without the dongle also being connected, it'll turn itself off. The stealth connection doesn't go very far but better than the h3pro. Bluetooth also doesn't go very far, but while it's connected sitting in front of the computer it's been great, the h3pro is not always great. Some annoyances with the Turtle Beach is that volume on your pc is either 100% or 0% max and then you adjust the volume on your headset. So if you're used to quickly adjusting your volume on your keyboard, it won't work. Also when you turn the headset on/off the beeps are too loud. I have tested it on my xbox and it works fine. I actually like the color light change on the dongle, slow red flash for connected and muted, solid green for the mic on so it's an easy way to double-check it's working as it should. I've had a few times where the mic wasn't working, so it's an easy way to troubleshoot. Battery life is very good, lasts much longer than the h3pro, and the ANC of the epos isn't all that great so I don't miss not having it on the stealth. Also the dongle I wish they either made it smaller like the h3pro where you can leave it in a laptop during transport or bigger so you can store it in the ear cup without it falling out. So overall I do like these quite a lot.

One interesting feature was also the ability to modify the earcups if you have glasses as I am sure many can appreciate this small detail. Over multiple hours long gaming sessions these headphones remained comfortable the entire time so there were definitely no issues when it came to overall comfort.Then the most important aspect of these headphones is the actual performance. I was anticipating a lesser experience than my A50s as they are $100 cheaper, but I was definitely surprised after using these for a couple weeks and going back and forth as the Turtle Beach headsets definitely punch above their weight in this department! I did not have any issues with lag and once I got my settings all configured I have had no issues since. The app is a nice added feature when it comes to customizing your experience, but the preset is more than acceptable in my opinion. The Superhuman Hearing is an interesting sound setting as everything appears to be boosted and I was unsure if there was much to it, but upon listening to music soundtracks I was able to distinguish where Turtle Beach was making adjustments and then going back and playing more FPS games I was able to begin to notice the difference and how beneficial it actually was. The mic quality was right on par with what you would expect as everyone I played with said I came across crystal clear and the ability for the mic to fold right in flush with the headset is a nice feature along with the noise when muted and unmuted. The one aspect I did especially like was the ease of use and the number of buttons/dials on the headset as many times manufacturers just go completely too far with clickable panels, knobs, dials, and buttons whereas Turtle Beach has made it so simple with just a game/chat knob, volume knob, mode button, power button, and Bluetooth button to which the game/chat and mode button can be customized in the app though I kept mine as is with the mode button toggling the Superhuman Hearing mode. Also the feature of slightly raising the mode and Bluetooth buttons is a nice added feature in order to find the buttons quickly and distinguish between the power button. Then in regard to battery life let me tell you that the 40 hours nearly holds true and that it is definitely a long time that goes appreciated without have to charge every couple play sessions and even then the fast charging of 8 hours of gameplay in 15 minutes of charging is a great feature for when my headset did die on me in one of my play sessions.Overall, there really is nothing to poke holes in with this headset as the ease of setup, comfort, and overall performance with the number of additional feature are all exceptional. At this price point on top of it I really think you can`t go wrong purchasing this headset regardless of what system(s) you are gaming on.
