The headlight covers on my Saab 9-3 were looking opaque like cataracts. I was told this is an MOT failure and that replacing them would be expensive. So, I thought Id try this restorer kit as I have always trusted Turtle products in the past and like magic 5 mins on each headlight and they came up like new. I didnt even need to use the abrasive disks. I highly recommend this product.

This product does the job but I have no idea how long the lens will remain clear. There is plenty of both liquids supplied left over on completion but I suspect the grinding pads may have worn down if, like me, it was quite a long job on medium opaque lenses. Also the final treatment using the wipes provided is key to the final appearance but only one wipe of each treatment is provided and so only just enough to do two headlamps. Should the lens deteriorate again in a short time there will be no wipes to repeat the job even though there are plenty of liquids in the bottles, I haven't been able to source further wipes without buying the complete kit again.

I was sceptical of some of the other ones on the market, especially the price - either to high or suspiciously low ( those from China) . However turtle was from reviews came out well so I went for it. It did work well, but I needed to repeat the process twice. The kit is for two lamps but my rover 75 has four, but I still had plenty of the solutions left, but not the sealants. One use only. Yes, hard work but worth it.

I had an advisory on last years MOT about the brightness of the highlights, they were a bit cloudy so I thought I'd try this kit a few weeks before this years MOT. I didn't think my headlights were bad enough to need the coarsest abrasive pad and I just used the other three sides. I spend about 15 minutes on each headlight and felt they were very much improved. The attached photos shows before and after with the lights off and then with them on. The only issue I had was the final stage, a wipe to seal them and protect them from UV. This went on like a thin clear grease and needed up to 24 hours to dry. Two days later it was still greasy and dirt and small flies were sticking to it. I washed it off with car wash-n-wax and the lights look good. Product came as described and on time. It took about an hour to do both headlights, used the 4 different grades of sand paper and polishing compound the sealer and UV treatment. They came up great. Only minor Criticism is they could do with some extra sealer and treatment wipes, not sure if you can buy extras. Bottom line very pleased with result.
I could not recomend this product at all, the kit came with everthing i needed ie sanding block, liquid abrasive and a sachet of lens sealer. It did a great job in cleaning it up and then I applied the Lens sealant. It looked great and I was well pleased with the result, however, 9 months later it's starting to cloud again. Very disapointed with this product, so beware.

Finally clean the headlight with the compound supplied to see the difference. Once you happy with the results use the base coat wipe to clean the headlight followed by the sealant wipe, this really cleans and clears the headlight of the remaining dirt left behind and applies a fine coat of grease over the headlight to stop the clouding come back. The only downside is that you only get one tissue of each for both headlights and if you dont do both headlights at the same time and quick enough it dries out fast. I wasn't expecting much from this kit to be honest, but i thought if it made at least a small improvement it would be worth it. I followed the instructions and also watched some videos on you tube of other people using similar kits, which i found very helpful. My advise to any potential buyers would be to make sure you don't skimp when doing the sanding down it makes all the difference to the final result. My only niggle is that you only get one sealing wipe so basically you get one shot to get it right or you have to buy more wipes to try again. A pitty because adding more wipes would make it so much more useful, but apart from that it was certainly worth the money
If you have fading and yellowing headlights on your car, before you fork out for new ones or new front replacement parts, try this! It is a plastic restorer for headlights - and actually any plastic item (I might try it on my perspex lid to my turntable record player) - and you wipe on with kitchen roll, rub gently in circular motions, and then wipe it off. The second part is a kind of sealer to stop further degradation. Both are simple to apply and the results are immediate and very visible - on my headlamps which were advisories on the last MOT, they fair sparkled after I had polished and coated them.
