Assam - 125g Loose Tea 125g Loose Tea
Excellent, standard Assam. The leaves are much smaller than the higher quality ones of the 2nd Flush Assam TGFOP1, but this tea produces a dark and robust cup that could be deceiving to the eyes, when looking at the leaves. While the 2nd Flush Assam TGFOP1 brings a higher quality leave to the cup, this Assam provides a similar, if not the same boldness (to my palate's taste, with added milk), albeit with a smaller and perhaps more roasted leaf. Wonderful value!... Show more

Best tea available. For strong tea lover
If you love your tea strong you'll love these. I was tired of having to use 2 teabags, even good quality pyramid bags. So I spent more and got these. It saves me in the long run. It's not bitter, you can really tell it's good tea. Even the colour is good. My new favourite and now I've got used to them. I won't buy different ones. So nice.... Show more

Emergency tea bag’s only.
I’ve drank Assam tea for a long time, but I was significantly disappointed but this considered higher quality Twinings tea brand, well it’s definitely NOT in my opinion. The signature base flavor of Assam tea was VERY lame and only just about existed so unfortunately I’ve had to reserve it to an emergency/last resort option rather than throw it away. What is also an unfortunate fact is that the Twinings version of Ceylon tea I recently purchased was just as lame in flavor compared to other brands. So I will NOT purchase TWININGS tea brand again.Recommend this tea, this Brand - Absolutely Not... Show more

Good tea, this. It's being kept in reserve for the moment.
With this purchase being reviewed, I've not yet opened any of the boxes due to the need to use up the Twinings Assam tea that I've currently got open. Therefore, I'm providing an overview of Twinings' version of Assam tea here. I've been drinking Twinings teas off and on for about 40 years, now, with introduction to them occurring whilst stationed in Japan during U.S. military service. Assam tea has a nice, strong, malty flavour. I've had other versions of Assam tea, both loose and bagged. Twinings is by far the version of Assam tea that I prefer. This is because of its particularly strong and malty flavour. If you're a tea connoisseur, you will not be disappointed.... Show more

I first bought this tea ...
... along with other types such as Darjeeling and Ceylon so I would have an alternative something to drink when I did Dry January. It makes a good strong cup with a well rounded taste; on a par with Builder's Tea but without the stewed 'finish'. I liked it but my husband refused to try it. One day when we ran out of 'ordinary' tea I gave him a cup without saying ... now he won't drink any other.Twinnings is more expensive than other brands, but it is better in stength and flavour. This 80 bag box contains two sealed foil wraps of 40 bags to keep the other half fresh till required.... Show more

Just ok. Not 3 times better than cheaper brands
Ive been a Tetley drinker for years but Ive noticed tea can be much better when Im out and having a cup somewhere nice. So I bought it was time to move up a notch and try twinings. I like my tea fairly strong so this seemed ideal. Unfortunately, I feel this tea is very similar to my old brand. Maybe a tiny bit better and slightly more consistent, but certainly not noticeably better considering each bag is 3 times the price of Tetley tea. It also brews strangely. You have to squeeze the bag and give it a good stir to get everything out of the bag and distribute the flavour. Id do that anyway before throwing the bag away, but it does make it hard to judge progress of the brewing until you stir at the end. I wont be buying this tea again. No stronger than usual
I enjoy a nice strong cuppa so thought I'd give these a go. Nice tea but it doesn't appear to be any stronger than my usual brand so a bit disappointed there. On the plus side there is no tannin effect that can be present in a strong cuppa. I wouldn't bother buying again as they're quite dear comparatively speaking.... Show more

Oh my
Ordinarily the words "breakfast" and "tea" are sufficient to make any lover of hot drinks to invent a hasty excuse. But this is easily the best strong tea on sale and the other reviews here are not lying. It has a full rounded flavour, minimal bitterness and a beautiful coppery colour. When the cup of tea you will have the following morning is the last thing you think of when clambering into bed at night, you know you need to stock up.... Show more

Strong Tea But Less Taste
The tea is definitely strong but I can barely taste any breakfast tea flavour which usually has such a nice distinct taste. So it felt like a waste of money even on offer it's so expensive for what it is. I will stick to the original Twinings EB, Lady Grey & Everyday Decaffeinated that I drink daily. I had to give the other pack inside it to someone else. And I've still got majority of the teabags from my pack left in the cupboard. Hmm.... Show more

What has happened
My husband likes a good strong cuppa and I have purchased these teabags for years. Unfortunately like a lot of products these days quantity is being reduced, it appears that the amount of tea in the bags has been reduced resulting in a weaker cup of tea. Will continue to buy because to date have been unable to find a better alternative, will just have to let the bag brew for longer... Show more
