Twizzlers Strawberry Twists - 198g

I received this product complimentary from influenster and the brand in exchange for my honest review. When this box showed up on my doorstep I was blown away by the sheer size of it! While I LOVE the 3 candy selections I was sent (who doesn't like Twizzlers, Reeces and Jolly Ranchers!?) I was seriously more impressed by the box! Super super cute and perfect for decorating our movie area. As far as the candy goes, I thought we were receiving more just based on the size of the box and the campaign description was a bit confusing, however, the 3 we did receive are all full sized samples and will be perfect for a family movie night. As a kid, i did not care for these but as an adult, i really dont mind these strawberry sugary straws (when biting both the ends) but not only as straws for water or certain juices. Its also just a great plain snack especially when catching a deal on these. This week only, ive bought 6 packs for $9. Now prepare yourself because once you start eating these strawberry twizzlers, its hard to stop and when i said sugary (eariler,) i meant sugary as I went to bed with a major sugar high.

I've never been a fan of Twizzlers in the past but it has been about 10 Years probably since I had one so let me tell you. I did not go into this with high hopes but was pleasantly surprised! Maybe as I've gotten older my taste buds have changed or something I don't know but they were very good and I showed them with my kids and we all enjoyed them! I also received some Reese's Pieces and Whoppers. Of course those were my favorite because chocolate is above anything.

Twizzler’s use to be a candy that I looked forward to. At least these aren’t black licorice, which is truly horrible. Yet there’s not much to these sugary strawberry flavored twisted sticks. Their consistency is like plastic to me. Also this is easily stuck on and in between your teeth. Plus they don’t fill you up, even with their unrefined calories. I don’t know when my disdain for these started. Best guess is fifteen years ago or so. Even my son who loves anything labeled candy, is less than enthusiastic of these are offered. Yes he will eat them, but mostly to be polite to other people. They aren’t expensive, and in reality they aren’t the worst candy you can find. Yet they are boring, and for that reason I’ll give them a hard pass.

These are a perfect movie marathon treat. They are a strawberry-flavored chewy snack that provides long-lasting deliciousness. The ends of each full size candy are pinched shut with a hollow center. The texture is just as it should be, giving you that nice tough chew and that sweet taste of that classic flavor they call strawberry. The packaging is good too. The candies are unwrapped and stick together, but I haven't had a problem separating them.

There is a difference between Red Vines and Twizzlers. And Twizzlers are, hand down, my favorite and has been for quite some time. In my box I received Twizzlers, Jolly Ranchers and Reeces Pieces. It was a good mix of the natural, sweet and salty. My bonus daughter and I took in a movie to try this box. I’m not sure how you can go wrong because you can always add that chocolate to it. 10/10 I would recommend.

I bought these thinking had grabbed a bag of licorice. No big deal, so I give them a try. My thoughts? First, they smell like a cup a cup of hot chocolate you left out for a week. Or if you drank a yoohoo you found on the sidewalk that someone stepped on. They taste like if you picked the congealed chocolate mass at the bottom of that old cup of hot chocolate. They also vaguely taste like stale lucky charms marshmallows? Or maybe like if you ate Cocoa Puffs that expired a few months ago. So that's weird. Basically they taste like old shoe leather that stepped in chocolate once.My one positive note is the twizzlers themselves glisten fantastically in the right light.In light of my experience I cannot recommend this to anyone. It tastes like if an Oompa Loompa was working long shifts in the chocolate room, came home after a long day and his oompa loompa children picked off the chocolate mud that had caked into his boot treads over the week and ate that.I can't imagine these did well in testing? They're just so not good. They're not awful but the fact that this made it past some kind of board of smart/ informed people and onto shelves is baffling. Says "Hershey's" I'm expecting Hershey's chocolate flavor but this tastes like you boiled a single bar in a swimming pool and scraped this out of the filter.

Go back to a sweet childhood memory.

When I was child in the late 60s my Grandfather gave me and my 6 siblings a nickel each to buy penny candy at the corner store. Swizzle sticks were at the top of my list to put in my brown paper bag. Thanks to Twizzlers I can still enjoy 😉 the same flavor of my childhood memories. Thank you Walmart for carrying the ziplock big bag for under five dollars! And thank you 😊 Grandpa .

Soft, chewy and flavorful chocolate licorice

I love Twizzlers licorice. The chocolate is the best!! I also like the strawberry and cherry. The chocolate flavor is hard to find so was pretty happy Walmart could send via mail. They are packaged well so still soft, chewy and flavorful. I usually put my licorice in a sealed baggie to keep the softness and preserve the flavor. It will last a long time in a sealed baggie, though Twizzlers rarely last long in my house as you can see from what is left in the huge zip log bag lol!!

Last week I received a bag of Twizzlers Strawberry Twists to review. Honestly licorice twists are not high on the list of candy I choose when making sweets purchases, but I do enjoy them occasionally when friends or family have purchased them for a party or movie night. When the bag arrived my son opened it immediately and ate half the bag right off the bat. I asked him what he thought and he said "Not bad" which in teen speak means he liked them, because he proceeded to eat more. I had to take the bag so the rest of us could try them and offer our opinion. I liked the strawberry flavor. It wasn't overpowering, but distinct enough from the more well known type of red licorice. I thought that the Twizzlers seemed to be less dry than the competition as well which I thought was better, and more forgiving on the choppers. All in all, I probably wouldn't go running to the store to buy these again, as licorice isn't a regular candy staple in our house. But if we ever had a movie night or some function that a licorice purchase would be needed I would pick the Twizzlers Twists over the competition.
