Recently I was able to test U by Kortex Ultrathin pads and I have only good things to say about them. Thin and flexible these pads are very discreet and I found them very comfortable to wear. They are very absorbent and gave me peace of mind. Aside from functionality I love that they are made from environmentally friendly products. The design of the box was great too. It sort of resemble a tissue box and makes it easy to grab out the next pad. I find plastic packaging on sanitary packs is just a nuisance, because it completely tears when you open it and you can never put all the individually wrapped pads away as neatly, the box solves this issue.

These pads were comfy, I have a medium flow and it didn't hold the blood very well. Even on the lighter days it leaked out the sides. I think their should have been only one bit of paper on the wings instead of 2 to minimise the rubbish. Weird material to touch but didn't have any rash from them or anything when I usually do. I wouldn't buy again as they leaked through but for someone with a light flow they would be okay. If you wanted something that is eco friendly there are better options like diva cups.

These pads definitely exceeded my expectations. The material felt strange in my hand but it was comfortable and they absorbed as needed.Unlike other pads that tend to get bunched up and even feel a bit sweaty after a while, i found these breathable and stayed in place longer, which is great while at work! And I didn't notice any smell (ladies, you know what i mean withthe whole "time of month" smell we get paranoid about!)If you have a heavier flow, id change a little more often due to the biodegradable material. I was a bit nervous as it looked as though the back/underside where it sticks to the undies was going to give way.

These pads have great functionality, they have wings that ensure that the pad can be easily adhered and it remained stuck in place the whole time it was in use (non of the awkward 'coming loose' effect). They had quite good absorbency, lasting a standard time before needing to be changed and I experienced no leakage when using them. They are a great size to easily fit in either a bag or in bathroom storage and the white packaging was subtle and nice. The fact that these pads are eco-friendly is such a relief, it ensures I feel like I am not contributing a great deal of plastics each month, while still comfortably using a sanitary product I am familiar with.
The product package should include flow recommendation for people unfamiliar with pads. I used it on the very first day of my periods and overflowed within a few hours of wearing. Luckily, I was wearing black pants and it isn't noticeable through it. It would be perfect for the last day of the period or light flows. The protective sheet is very easy to rip when in a hurry but it is expected and reassure me that it barely contain a lot of plastic. It isn't uncomfortable, doesn't get itchy, and doesn't give me rash but I don't have any know allergies so I can't give too much information on that area. Overall, it's good just need some more use details because I thought it could handle heavy flow and maybe ingredients used.
So these came at the perfect time to test. I was going through a very heavy period, due to a chemical pregnancy, so I could try these pads to see how they went. Unfortunately I found that they just were not absorbent at all. The blood just lingered on the top and never soaked through which made a terrible mess. After trying them for 2 days, before a heavy flow started I had to stop. These couldn't handle a light spotting flow so I was not game enough to try for anything heavier.
To be honest, these aren’t a whole lot different to any other product by this brand in terms of comfort or absorbency. They feel the same and work the same. I compared these to a standard U by Kotex super ultra thin pad and there wasn’t a whole heap of difference. I like that they are much better for the environment, and for those that aren’t comfortable with reusable options this could be a good compromise. I’ll be purchasing these again for sure.
The absorbency is terrible, you have to change very regularly even for super. The worst part is the pad literally tears apart when you try to remove it from your underwear. The bloody, sticky backing gets stuck to your underwear and is impossible to remove. It’s literally a disaster. I had to throw out my underwear. Needs a recall.
These pads literally fall apart. The backing stays stuck to your underwear and when you peel them off it makes the biggest mess. I’m also having an allergic reaction after using them, my labia is incredibly itchy and painful (some kind of dermatitis) and I’ve never had this before. Literal hell, I can hardly sleep through the pain and itch. These need to be recalled.
Was so excited to try an eco friendly pad but was severely disappointed. I brought the super pads and they were terrible. Not as absorbent as their other ranges which meant I went through 3-4 times as many pads and also the pads come apart when trying to take them off your underwear. You are left with sticky bits of your bloody pad on your underwear:( great idea for trying to be eco friendly but you would do everyone a favour by discontinuing this product as it’s at this point just a waste of money and materials. Try again Kotex ✌️
