Ubiquiti UniFi USW-PRO-48 Network Switch Managed L2/L3 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) 1U Silver
A switch is a device with which it is possible to connect computers into a (local area) network, provided your computers all have an appropriate networking device installed. Switches can be daisy chained to form larger networks and come in managed and unmanaged variaties. The unmanaged versions generally cannot filter data and will forward any data that is fed into them, so they are better suited for small networks. Switches are easy to set up (just plug in the network cables) and allow you to share printers, storage space and other network resources with your entire home or office network.

When it comes to Ubiquityeither you like it, or you don't. Ireally like the features that they include and the ease it is to setup. With the 10 GB SFP+ it is easy to link theseswitches with the DAC cables. I have fourof these in my rack (2 x 48 Port, 2 x 24 port POE) and one (24 Port POE) in aremote location connected with a 10 GB fiber run. They are fast and reliable. The controller software has some issues butnothing that would cause me to go another direction. The biggest issue is the Topology changes everynow and then and shows devices connected to switches that they are not.
