Amuses me other reviewers are complaining that it's not a hardcore-enough switch with SSH etc.For this price it's perfect. It's extremely lightweight, compact, runs cool - and has two ways of powering itself - power over ethernet, or (wait for it) USB-C. As far as I can tell this is the only USB-C powered gigabit switch you can get (in NZ) for under $100.Oh yeah and it's also managed and integrates with the Ubuiqiti ecosystem. Good luck finding better value than this.

Lightweight and tough!Great as a dumb-switch.Next show, I will definitely buy a second one for my road-kit - so I can string 2 in-between PoE switches to get up-to 300M hard-wired without needing to get out my Unifi Building Bridge. They do not have SSH unlike every other Unifi product, so Layer 3 adopting them is an absolute disaster. Forget about customising their configuration too. Combine that with Unifi's tendency to revert informURL back to "unifi:8080", and I fear these little guys would be regularly & catastrophically losing contact from your central controller.I wish it had PoE-passthrough on one port like the old US8's... but for it's price, it is spectacular value for money.NOT recommending for critical use - but great for your road-kit!

Great unit for the price, especially if you've bought into the UniFi Network ecosystem. A note of caution however is these units are a COMPLETE pain in the ... to configure if your controller is remote. This is discussed at length in the UniFi forums so be informed before purchase, we needed to connect the unit directly to the network where the controller resided AND select 'Override inform host with controller hostname/IP' before it would adopt and do it's firmware upgrade. No SSH access so you can't do a 'set-inform' sadly.

I needed ethernet jacks at 15m and 30m from the router. So I bought two of these switches. Then I ran a ethernet cable from the router to the first switch and then from the first switch to the second switch. It all works perfectly and required no configuration.
I'm a network engineer by trade with years of experience on Ubiquiti products, and this is the worst UBNT product I've ever used..... The L3 adoption process is just completely broken, even after writing up custom Linux DHCP servers with custom options & following all the guides my L3 adoption just plain failed. With no SSH access, you can't do the standard "set-inform" comman and sit back... Honestly just use this as a dumb L2 switch. UBNT has been slipping for a few years, but this is a really sad bottom.
VLAN tagging is severely limited in its functionality on this product which you only find out about once you try to configure it. You can only configure a port to be either a single network (untagged) or all networks. You can't configure a port to let only some (tagged) network(s) through.
Ubiquiti - pretty much says all you need to know. A fantastic managed switch that is inexpensive and small but preforms great. Some complain about Ubiquiti equipment being difficult to set up. Not the case for me, I'm not the most advanced user but for a nice reliable home system it is an incredible switch. I see it as a big step up from the typical unmanaged switch and if the network is well designed it will perform great. Mine is a secondary switch that handles printers, a Nintendo Switch and Apple TV. Have one at mother-in-laws house running a couple of POE WiFi access points. Rock solid Ubiquity systems are great. Her WiFi system keeps her Apple watch going even if she doesn't remember to take her iPhone with her. Her WiFi system keeps her Apple watch going even if she doesn't remember to take her iPhone with her. She has called for help like when she got her power chair stuck just off the sidewalk outside! Apple watch worked (testimony to Apple and my wife for teaching her to use it). She is 90+ and home network is very important!I highly recomend this product.
Bought 30 of these switches because the more expensive Flex switch was out of stock everywhere. Didn?t realize that unlike the Flex the Mini has no PoE out or pass through ability. When combined with an external PoE injector it worked fine. And the combination oh the Mini and injector was less expensive than the Flex switch.
Ok ... as a legacy networking professional, I usually rate inexpensive products starting @ 3 stars and downgrade from there. This is not the case with the Ubiquity USW-Flex-Mini. I'm truly impressed and blown away with the quality, performance and pricing of this little workhorse. I have deployed two in my home labs in the past few weeks while integrating my home business network with Dream Machine Pro and and larger Ubiquity PoE L2 switch model, camera & VoIP . These little devices are GREAT!!!
This network switch is fantastic. Works flawlessly and very small so it will fit anywhere and in tight spaces. I highly recommend this product. It?s light weight and portable.
