Haven't assembled a working model of this nature since I was a kid assembling plastic model airplane and car kits. This model, along with the Tractor Wagon kit that I also assembled, lived up to UGears' promise of precision fit, classy appearance and novelty of mechanism. I even suggested to a relative who's a train buff that he look into purchasing the steam locomotive model...I'm hoping he'll ask me to assemble it!

So far this is # 3 Project for us. My Grandson looks forward to Grandpas visit to work more on these projects. At present we are working on the "Timer" model. My Grandson is learning how to apply the proper pressure to remove the small pieces so they don't break. That is where Grandpa helps out sometimes. I believe he likes the feeling of building something he can see and show his parents that he did himself. Better then X-Box !!!

Ordered two: tractor and engine. Built the tractor already. I had no model-building or similar experience. It was fun - in the challenging puzzle sort of way. I broke a few of the toothpicks that act as fasteners, axles, etc., but they enclosed plenty and I had many left over. Looks great on display!

Christmas gift. Dad collects Farmall tractor stuff. It worked.
Every year at Christmas, it's what to give to the guys. I was thrilled to find these unique models for the men. My husband loved making model cars when he was young & I thought he might like these UGEARS. It was a hit! Don't let the number of pieces in a beginner kit discourage you. The instructions are easy to follow. My suggestion? Glue
My grandson loved this. He is 14 and loves to build things. It kept him busy and when he finished he made a point of showing us his finished tractor.
This kit is going to my son for Christmas who already has about 8 real farm tractors as a junior collector! This model will be just perfect for him to build and play with while he doesn't feel like going outside this winter here in Michigan! And being a working model, is a real plus too!
My grandson (12) is a lego freak so figured he'd love this. He did but the instructions are horrible. It took my husband (56) to try and figure it out but once they did it worked perfectly. Tell the maker to add written instructions instead of just photos. It doesn't say it on the site but on the box it says for 14 years+.
This was a gift for a young relative. His mother said he spent a lot of time putting it together. They sent me a photo of him proudly holding the finished product.
U-GEARS are a fantastic way to teach basic mechanics to anyone, adult or child! I should know - I work at an Ace Hardware store. I discovered my first UGEAR last year - 2018- while vacationing at a Christmas Markets tour in Basel, Switzerland. They had run out of tractors so I got the business card holder and couldn't wait to get home to assemble it! At work, I showed it to everyone - it was is a hit - and I commented how I hoped to see this imported into the US some day. And now, a few months later, I see that Grommet has the most popular styles!!! I'm so excited!!!(One suggestion for the UGear folks - you should re-visit how the tool you use to push toothpicks into place... it is a bit unsafe and can easily slip. I used pliers instead...)
