I bought my rod 3 weeks ago and have landed a multitude of plate worthy fish and even reeled in a 1.7m bull shark, these rods take the worry of it snapping out of the equation your main emphasis will become solely focused on will my line snap. 12/10 (the rod will handle heavy line just ensure you’re well aware of the drag setting on the reel and you’ll run into no issues.)

This is the Best small rod on the market that I have used. Great in the canoe, great off the jetty and great to take on holiday. It’s versatile and takes little space.

Very nice rod. Flexible, but sturdy. Ugly Sticks are usually pretty good rods. Great for bait fishing, but probably not too good for lures and plastics due to how whippy it is. Suits bait fishing perfectly. I matched it with a Daiwa Saltist 2500 spin reel. Fantastic outfit.
I was hesitant to buy this model as all the other Ugly sticks i have about 8 dating back at least 20 years have been double seated eyes for strength but i have found with this rod with single seated eyes that are away from the rod is smoother faster and longer casting with less friction on the line but still strong and more sensitivity a different style of Ugly Stick that i like
I have been using these rods (5'6" 6-10kg spin) doing kayak fishing for a few years now and can highly recommend them. They are good quality, durable and at an affordable price. On the kayak fighting a big fish one often end up 'high sticking' the rod and there are few rods that can handle that. These UglyStick Gold rods can handle the rough and tough of fighting big pelagic's (tuna's, spanish, trevally's) off the kayak.
Failed at minimal loading. Worst rod I've purchased. No problem with supplier for purchase. Had no prior problems with Freddy's products.
Not a graphite rod but the tip flex feels like one. Good cheap rod to throw in the back of the car that you are not worried about damaging the tip and can withstand rough treatment. Suits my purpose
I got sick & tired of expensive carbon rod tips breaking, so i bought an ugly stick to get away from issue. I haven't caught a large fish on it yet. But it has handled bass, snapper & flathead superbly. The light action rod is light in the tip but has heaps of grunt down low. It works soft plastics no problems at all. It isn't as light as the carbon rods, but only minor issue (i took 1 star off because of weight), I have flicked lures all day with it chasing bass in the Brisbane river.
Great rod (usg sp 561bh,01k17cm ) caught a 30 kg. plus. Estuary cod . Next day a metre plus Spanish mackeral .(both in Exmouth). This was physically testing but the rod had good flexibility and power a plenty for these two good size fish. So impressed I have now bought a second one.
