The sound and the bass is amazing, crisp and clear. I've gone through many speakers in my life, but I must say, this one is one of the best so far and I've only had it less than 24 hours. I love that the volume buttons are big for ease of access and use, and that it has a play/pause button right on top. I will say, it DOES suck that there is no rewind button, only a fast forward by double clicking the play/pause. I would think that if you could do two clicks to skip, you could do three to rewind like most devices, headphones, speakers, etc. Not that big of a loss though given the rest of the wins. the charging port gets completely sealed when covered, so you don't have to worry about water seeping into it, although I would still err on the side of caution. The speaker also comes with a cute little hook at the top it so you can clip it a backpack, bike, gym bag, beach bag, or even hang it in the shower.Now for the waterproof part itself; I was simply AMAZED by this feature. Not only can this speaker be completely submerged in water, but music continues playing while it's underwater as well! It makes it great for going to the beach or hiking or even showering where you may need to rinse off sand/dirt with clean water or in the shower where it might get wet. I took a big pot (because I wanted to make sure that the waterproof part worked before the return timeframe expired) and filled it with water and turned on the speaker before dunking it. Completely submerged, it still played muffled music. And the best part? The speaker FLOATS! When it does float, you can still hear the music which keeps the party going. I can't wait to take this speaker to the beach with my friends and test it out.The speaker itself also has an "Outdoor Mode," which Ultimate Ears claims boosts the overall surround sound and whatever to give you the most music when you're outdoors and may have more trouble hearing. I have not used this feature for myself, but I've heard others say that it reduces the bass a lot and the sound quality isn't as clear and crisp, but it does help when you're outdoors and really need to use it. Otherwise, just turn the volume up, but that can kill battery.Speaking of battery, it's supposed to last up to 13 hours. I like that you can click both the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons at the same time to check the battery via a little charm that you hear. Not only this, but checking the battery also does not interfere with music playing, which is nice.I will say, it's annoying when you play/pause sometimes because the music doesn't play/pause immediately, it takes a second for it to stop playing music or start playing music. I've made the mistake of thinking the button just didn't register, and then having to wait for it to pause, then start, then pause again. Not a bad problem though, this is just me being picky at this point.Overall, it's an AWESOME quality sound speaker, it's durable (you can drop it up to 5 feet I think, I forgot to mention that part), it's completely submerge waterproof, you can pair it with another WONDERBOOM for stereo sound (forgot to mention this too!), it has an outdoor mode and almost everything else you can think of. I've only had it for one day, but I think that I can safely say it's one of the best on the market. For $100, getting a high quality, loud, completely waterproof speaker seems like a deal. The Bluetooth on them is way better then my Bose, it's a shame, because the distance is at least triple of that on my Bose, and I get no interference, but my Bose, if anyone get to use the microwave, it does interfere in the sound.The Bose has an annoying 10٪ battery protection, which if you don't see is coming, it screws up everything, you have to reset to whole thing to work again, it just refuse to charge, etc.The sound on this little guys is strong/loud, impressive loud for its size and its crispy clear. Bought a series one ue wonderboom and have been a fan since day one! Once I found out you can sync the speakers together. I've been interested in purchasing an additional speaker. I've done my due diligence on the research and settled on series 2. Seems the only benefit to the third generation is a little bit more battery life. That's not enough to justify the third generation considering I wanted something to compliment my first generation speaker so I purchased the second generation. It syncs up with the first generation speaker flawlessly and they sound amazing together!!! I couldn't be happier with my purchase! Extremely fast shipping. The item was exactly as described brand new unmolested in the box. So happy
I purchased this solely for outdoor use like a picnic in the park or a day at the beach and such. A little back story to why this did not upset. I live in an apartment bldg. that was built 1966 and you guessed it, it has floors and walls that weren't really there to block all the potential noise neighbors or even maintenance people working within the vicinity might make. So we got this new tenant below our unit who instantly became a nuisance for us. They like playing loud music and the volume isn't just high it's coming out of what assume to be a sound-bar so yeah it's really loud and it just travels through the old walls and floors and we could literally feel the vibration and they would intentionally do so after 10pm which in the state of PA there's a noise ... If you were using this in a baby's room for example that might be a concern, but I play podcasts to fall asleep to and the noise of it shutting down has never woken me up, I just realize it might be a downside for others even though it doesn't matter to me. The only other thing is that after years of use (maybe 5?) the small indicator light on top sometimes flickers on and off or dims, but this doesn't affect the function of the speaker at all.Overall, I'd 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a small, good quality speaker, it's treated me super well and I'll be buying another when mine eventually quits :) 10/10
To say I'm impressed with my Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 EXC Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker is an understatement. I was happily surprised to see how compact it is, and I was hoping something so small would be loud enough to be able to hear clearly. Let me tell you, this speaker may be small, but it's mighty. It charges up fast and the charge lasted almost all day. The control buttons on it are easy to understand and easy to use. It paired up quickly and easily to my iPhone. The option on the bottom of the speaker allows you to take a significant amount of bass out of the music and elevate the treble for large parks and days at the beach or simply filling open spaces with you play frisbee with your dog and friends. I have carried this all over Colorado and it hasn't let me down. Plus it makes a wonderful sound system to the shower! I always get complements on the color and sound and I have even converted a few diehard Bose fanboys over lol. The one downside is that you cannot access the speaker through the UE app, which is a real bummer. I hope they fix this in new iterations. Overall I cannot gush about this anymore, just buy it, you won't be disappointed!!
