The jacket is okay. It's nothing special, so idk if I would even recommend it, especially for the price. Speaking of the price, I paid 190$ for it. When I get it, it had a retail tag on it for 150$. So if you are interested in this jacket, shop else where because Backcountry will price gouge you. Im never buying from this company again!

Almost passed on this one when i read someone say it has no interior pockets...but I decided to check it out at a store. The backside of the exterior pockets work fine as interior pockets. I always wear XL size gear from UA, but in this case I found XL a bit too snug and went 1 size up, fits just perfect with enough room to layer something underneath. Fill is actually 80% duck down, 20% feathers, 600 fill and traceable (except hood, its synthetic fill but works fine). Just shovelled at -20C and it was just right in terms of warmth. I think this is the best value down jacket in this category (its just a little heftier than my Pategonia down sweater jacket, but still packable and has a water resistant shell).

When you get the jacket, it doesn't appear to be very thick but it's actually very warm! My first recommendation would be to order a size up if you're broad in the shoulders or muscular in the upper body. Secondly, when washing the jacket for the first time I would wash by itself on delicate as well as dry on low heat for maybe 10 or 15 mins. and air dry from there. I made the mistake of not washing the jacket on a delicate cycle and almost ruined it although I dont believe the feathers in every area will regain their initial bulk and fluff.

Have been wearing this for over a month now and it is everything I expected it to be. Fits perfectly (I wear a LG), is lightweight (you won't find anything lighter), definitely windproof and very warm in temperatures into the 20s. It also keeps my bald head, ears and neck warm with the hood up. The inside pocket areas on both sides of the coat come in handy as well. Just be careful when using the zippers to ensure you don't catch the fabric when moving them up or down. If they catch, reverse to free it and then go back the way you started. It's a superb jacket and I'll have it until it wears out.
Purchased this jacket a few weeks ago and it fits the bill nicely for winter activities. It's lightweight but still warm wearing just a long sleeve base layer shirt underneath for outdoor activities in cold windy temps. I bought an XL to allow for layering and it's a perfect size for me. I wish the bottom had a cinch cord but other than that I really love this jacket!
This was purchased for teenager who doesn’t wear coats and feels he doesn’t need one despite waiting for bus in Pennsylvania weather. I made him wear it a couple times recently and one day he said you know that coat is pretty comfortable. He also likes that it is easy to pack in his bag when not wearing. Husband wants me to get him same coat.
This item is exceedingly light in weight with a silky smooth shell. It is not bulky at all. This jacket could be improved by having an elastic feature at the waist. I like the psudo pockets on the inside...allowing for carrying an iPhone. I love the jacket and I would definitely recommend the purchase of it to other buyers.
This is a good looking jacket that is remarkably light. I would suggest going up a size from what you might normally order. I usually wear a size large in UA clothing, but the large jacket was a little snug and would not have worked well with even a light sweatshirt under it. I exchanged it for an XL and it is good. I haven't had the opportunity to try it in really cold weather, I live in Canada, which is why I bought it... to wear while clearing my driveway of snow! Fingers crossed.
It's pretty warm. The seams that run down the sides have no insulation which causes major cold spots. It's not supposed to be a heavy coat I guess. It's light weight and comfortable. It works great as a layer underneath my heavy down coat. It's about perfect to wear in a sleeping bag if you're camping in zero degree F. weather. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of down insulated jackets and coats to choose from anymore.
This jacket keeps me very warm and has really good resistance to the weather elements like rain and wind. I like the color and overall fit of this jacket. I also like that I can compress the jacket to a small space which helps a lot when packing. It doesn't take up much space and doesn't add much weight to luggage. The closure is well made and works really well. I think I would add a water resistant zipper on the pockets is how I would improve the design. I'm glad that there is a hood but getting it to fit perfectly and not block your view or pop off when running is a challenge. I recommend for slower paced winter activities or if wearing a hood is not required.
