This pen writes so beautifully! I got this same pen back in 2018 in SF Japantown and used it until the ink was all gone. I then purchased a second pen through JetPens since the refills had mixed reviews about drying out.Unfortunately, this new pen started out writing beautifully but after the first or second day of light use faded to non-readable. I reached out to JetPens and they suggested using a hairdryer on the tip and even submerging the whole ink insert in nearly boiling water for 15 minutes. I did each and the pen still was faded and inconsisent, entirely unusable despite the ink being full! I am so sad as I love the way this pen wrote, but it seems from reviews on the refills that the ink often has this issue. I don't know if it's these pens in general and my first one from SF Japantown was just lucky, or if it's from this seller though I know JetPens has a good reputation. I asked for a refund or replacement but since it was beyond 30 days there was nothing they could do, which I understand. The 0.5mm Uni Jetsteam pens and refills have worked fine for me thus far, but I much prefer 0.7mm. It just seems such a gamble to purchase more though.

I’m a lefty and I got this pen in hopes of finding a ballpoint that doesn’t leave little blobs of ink on the page. I saw that other left-handers said they had no problem with it, but I still got some ink blobs. (The good thing was they didn’t smear easily because they ink dries quickly.) It must be something about the angle I write at or the specific pressure I use. I gave the pen to my brother (right-handed) and he loves it and uses it all day long at his work. So not perfect for me, but still a very good pen.

Love the rubber body Jetstreams. They have a great balance between sturdy design and inexpensive price. Not to mention you get that sweet, sweet Jetstream writing experience. While you can find the rubber body Jetstreams at pretty much any store. The orange version is only available through online retailers (except In Japan, of course :p). And man is it worth it for the orange, it looks so much better than the boring black of the Target tier rubberbodys.

I like the orange color. It's easy for me to know which pen is mine, and not likely to be 'borrowed' by coworkers. I like the rubber body. A little grippy, but not too grippy. I like the window near the tip where you can see when the ink is low. I like the ink. It has strong crisp lines and doesn't skip.

This is a great pen--a pleasure to write with--with one flaw. After a couple of years, the button-end of the pen comes loose. One time the plastic broke and that was that. The other time I could snap it back, but the spring kept pushing it out while writing. That time I could glue it on. I'm switching to the SX-217 non-retractable models to avoid this in the future while still enjoying the wonderful Jetstream writing experience.

I specifically purchased this pen for the color of the body. The pictures made it seem like a bright orange. However, it is not. The color is more like a pumpkin orange. Aside from that issue, the refill is excellent. The Uni Jetstreams are one of my favorite pens. They write very smoothly. I did change the black ink refill that came with this pen for the blue ink refill (I have to use blue ink for work).

I have tendon problems in my hands, and needed a smooth writing pen. I love this pen because it has a rubberized body which is easier to hold for me without slipping. Also it being retractable makes it more portable. The price is great so I purchased several to have on hand when I am at home, away, in the car etc. The writing is smooth and flows effortlessly, which is important for me because I can now write pain-free. The refills are easy to install. Great everyday pen.

My first Jetstream pen and it definitely won't be my last! I have a pilot Acroball in the same tip size (they don't sell it on this website, I found it at a different store) and this pen is smoother and more comfortable to hold. The color isn't exactly like the picture, more of a muted orange, kinda like the Lamy Safari Terra Red. Still a great color that stands out from other pens though. I will probably get thinner refills but the 0.7 is great for people whose favorite gel pen size is 0.5 but will use an 0.7 if needed. I like a little thinner than that so will probably get 0.5 once the refill runs out. Stands up to highlighters instantly. I highly recommend!

Excellent everyday pen. I use this pen everyday at work and it is a joy to use when filling out forms having multiple pages. The tip size is perfect as it will not tear through the top page of a document as I’m with firm pressure to ensure all carbon pages are legible. I bought the Jetstream Uni SXR-5 refills as I prefer the .5mm tip over the .7mm tip; the gun metallic is my favorite color to boot. As it makes it far easier for me to identify my pen, should it grow legs and walk away from my desk. As they often do.If there is one draw back, it would be the collection of ink at the tip. It builds up due to writing on bulk produced paper as the tip removes fine particles of paper as one is writing. I knew only frustration during those days, in which I spent too much time scribbling within the margins of my page, willing my pen to work. Finally, I caved. It took me half an hour of searching, but finally I found my new Uni-Ball Jetstream 0.7 pen. It works just as well as the former, and I am content once more.So. If you are in the market for a pen, Uni-Ball Jetstream 0.7 is the way to go. It is comfortable, the ink is smooth, and it lasts a long time. Also, if you are left-handed, I can assure you the ink will never smudge. Uni-Ball Jetstream 0.7 is truly the only valid pen.
