Fair price point for a compact, quality item. More than adequate as a starter interface with enough features to expand your setup.

it's killer. I've replaced my big expensive apogee with this and am totally happy. comes with great software bundles for free. really impressed.

For my workflow in audio recording, a compressor before getting the audio into DAW is inevitable. Because if we don't limit the audio into the input DB range we lose so much level. Volt 476 is affordable with the trustable UA 76 compressor and pre-amp. Presets are ready to choose and use, so I focus on my record rather than tweaking forever. I'm satisfied.

I really like the VOLT 476, it's a solid mid-budget interface. I accidentally ordered the 276 (I needed the extra outs for my patch bay) and they both have a great sound, and the pre-amp and 1176 models can be really useful for tracking.
Great mic pre, super clean and quiet - helped a lot compared to my 2i2 that I was using before. The outputs are nice, the selectable headphone monitoring is great and the addition of the real analog compression and vintage settings are helpful for cutting through. This thing sounds great, performs perfectly and best of all - it looks nice on my desk too!
I still own an Avid / M-Audio C400 Interface, it can handle 2 sets of Monitors and it has 4 Audio inputs w GAIN, this device has 4 INPUTS as well but only 2 have GAIN control and those are the ones in the front the Rear INPUTS have no GAIN CONTROL so my synths sound very low even with the Synth gain all the way up. I have 2 sets of Monitors and a SUB and i can only use 1 set and the other OUTPUTS can't be used w Active monitors i had to purchase the Audient NERO, now the Vintage and preamps that the device bring are cool and i would recommend it to a friend if they record vocals but for a producer like me this has a lot of INPUTS and OUTPUTS but i can't use them all.
I will mainly use this interface to Record my synthesizers and to produce music, some things that this interface lacks is the option to connect at least 2 sets of monitors and the line in connection in the back Edie's not have a gain control, I came out a Avid C400 interface and that thing is a beast, I was able to connect two sets of monitors and all the inputs had gain control so I was able to control the volume of the LineIn and had no issue now with this Vault series interface the two Line In in the back are very low and my synthesizers sound very low even with the gain all the way up, I'm really considering to change, the mic preamps and the Vintage mode are cool but it would have been nice to have a button switch and control the gain from LineIn 3/4 not only 1/2
Upgraded from a Scarlett 2i2, which I was very happy with but needed something bigger. The Volt 476P delivers everything I would've wanted, so far I've been quite impressed.
I found the output audio very clean, very clean! Unlike any other brand I've ever had! It's an entry line from Universal Audio, but I found the quality of the pres impressive, still with the vintage function and with the pre-set 1176 compressor! It was worth the purchase!
I own the Universal Audio Apollo x4 Heritage but don't want to use that for gigs and events where it might get stolen or damaged. I didn't need the DSPs for live, yet wanted IOS compatibility for the Sunday Sounds IOS app and other iPad applications. This fits the bill perfectly. I also love the output selector buttons on the front. It all just works including the MIDI functions. Thank you UA.
