Once again UAG snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Much like with the iPhone 15 cases that were released having been build for a ringer switch instead of the button the phone has, this case does not quite make the cut. It also fails to turn the tablet on when opened. In either case, you will need to manually press the power button, adding needless wear and tear that could have been prevented with just a little bit of actual effort on UAG’s part.Further, the opening in the case over the USB-C port is too narrow for the height of the plug for most quality USB-C cables, including the one that ships with the iPad. Again, just a tiny bit of effort/research could have avoided this oversight, but unless you want to use the cheapest cable you can find and even then have to fight the rubber around the port, you will end up being tempted (or forced) to cut away the piece that blocks the plug from being properly inserted I to the tablet. When I pre-ordered the first case, UAG told me that “a limited number” of these cases shipped without the on/off functionality. Unfortunately, that seems to have been misleading as I then ordered another one a couple days ago, and it has arrived with the same problem.UAG has gone from being a company that makes innovative and essential protective gear for your most important electronic devices to an also ran company that is more concerned with profit than producing quality. This is seen by their continually raising prices to now exorbitant levels while delivering products that are worse than their predecessors and display little thought or effort before shipping to market.Save your money on this one and buy something else.

The Metropolis case allows easy use of all of the buttons and the camera lens. The UAG has a magnetic flap that keeps the case closed when not in use and the wake and sleep feature works like a charm! The stand has five grooves for the different viewing angles for your iPad. This is great to help reduce reflections. The Apple Pencil holder is a great extra that is not always found on other cases. The only small criticism I would offer, is that the magnetic flap when the case is open on my lap does not have a place to store it.Overall, I think that UAG has hit this one out of the park. The Metropolis SE is a quality case that is just what I was looking for and think it is worthy of consideration when looking for a new case for the new iPad pro!

The case actually works well, fully protects the iPad, is easy to use and has a pretty good finish. The seams, the material, the design, I consider that they are very well, in this section it fulfills what is necessary. There are a couple of things that do not convince me and is that using the iPad with one hand completely folding the case is not very comfortable. The other issue is that the auto sleep/wake function rarely works, although it is not the end of the world, I consider it something essential to what many users are used to, I do not know if it's the magnets or the design, but I wish it worked all the time.In short, this case is fine although it doesn't quite fulfill the basic functions. It covers the iPad very well from drops and bumps, has different viewing angles, is made of a sturdy material, unfortunately the auto sleep/wake function needs improvement. If the above is not important to you, this case, with a small discount, would be an option to consider, although for the same price you can buy something similar or with more features on the market. I'm not too sure if I would recommend it, perhaps in specific situations.

To me, buying cases for tech products is just as bad as buying clothes. Things I look for in an excellent case are the style, material, build quality, and protection. The things that are most important are it has to be thin, protect the device, be comfortable in your hands, and any bonus features are a plus. I believe the UAG Metropolis SE Case for iPad Pro really hits the mark. One thing that drives me crazy about cases is the material they are made of. Some silicone materials can attract fingerprints, marks, hair, and many other things. Overtime they become less attractive looking/feeling. The material that the metropolis case is made out of is high quality. It feels nice to hold and has the perfect texture. Overall, the case is both thin and light. Even with the case on, it still easily fits in a backpack tablet slot.Obviously, the reason people buy a case is for protection. This case meets military drop standards for protection. I think most people drop their devices regularly and having a case that protects it is a must. I think one thing to consider is how well the case fits and stays on. This case fits snuggly to your iPad and will not fall off even during a fall.Lastly, this case offers features that make it stand out from others. The first is an adjustable kickstand. Although it has preset angles, there are multiple angles that give you the perfect viewing angle for anything you will do with it. Another feature it has is a dedicated Apple Pencil holder. It allows for the pencil to store and charge while also being secure so that it will not fall off during transport. It also has a magnetic flap that holds the front cover of the case in place when it is closed. This adds additional security/protection while in transport.Since the M4 iPad Pro is new, there are still a limited number of cases on the market. Of the few that do exist, this is one of the best. If you are someone who travels/commutes on trains and places, this is a great case. If you are a student this will also offer you the best protection for your iPad.
I’ve had many UAG cases over the years for many different devices, but I really like their iPhone cases. I like this case a lot better than the OEM offerings and along with being durable, it’s very lightweight, but still provides really good protection. I almost never carry any electronic device without a case and my iPad is no different. Considering how much my tablet cost, I didn’t want to be frugal when it came to finding something to protect it. My requirements were essentially, something thin, but protects my tablet well, allows me to keep my pencil connected and easy to deploy for either writing or watching videos. This case hit all of my marks. The case allows me to charge my apple pencil while not in use and there are small indentions on the base of the case that allow multiple viewing angles. In my use, I had no problem with the adjustments, and it remained sturdy even while I was using the touchscreen to go to different videos. I also prefer that the screen be covered while not in use and this one remained in contact with my iPad while it fumbled around in my backpack. I found myself really liking this case and it will be go to when I prefer to go without using a keyboard case. With that said, keep in mind that this is not compatible with a keyboard unless you use a portable Bluetooth version.I am very happy with this case and I believe it to be well made and should last for a good while.
Ive had a lot of cases through my time of swapping between the smaller and larger versions of the iPad Pro every generation since the 2018s came out. This time around (M4 2024) it was no different I got both the 11” and the 13” model iPads and a bunch of cases to try out with them. My ultimate sweet spot ended up being this UAG case on my silver 11” pro model.I love that apple made the device thinner and lighter this generation so this case could follow suit and also feel thinner and lighter as normally if you want good protection it comes at the cost of heft and bulk. This is not the case (pun intended) this time around it feels excellent in hand. This is not the case (pun intended) this time around it feels excellent in hand. This case having all the right cutout ports and all the right buttons in the right places is a wonderful combination of perfect all in one. The inside of the screen flap is nice micro suede like material that protects the new oled display from harm. The magnets are placed perfectly to allow not only to store the new pencil pro under a flap securely while in motion but also to set the case up into a stand configuration in multiple angles how you want to be using it. They are also in the right locations for the standard of auto sleep and wake which is great.Im really glad to swap from my older M2 iPad Pro 12.9 down to this new m4 iPad Pro 11” as its size and portability overall is much better along with the screen and the one thing I didnt want to have is a bulky case on a smaller device to defeat the entire purpose. That is not this as its very slimline and not a tank bulky case which is exactly what I was looking for, keeps the pencil pro safely attached and goes into the right angles from hand holding, setting on my nightstand to watch media at night to drawing I really love this case and setup I have no gripes with it at all.
The UAG stuff is always a little "rugged" looking - Its part of their brand. I was pleasantly surprised to see just how svelte and form fitting this case was when receiving it.It features a hard rubber body with shock absorbing hexagon liner inside to protect your iPad from bumps, and then features a wraparound "faux-leather-and-felt screen cover that doubles as a flexible multi-angle stand, and screen protector/pen holder flap.If this is the style of case you're into, this one seems to do a pretty good job. I wish the screen cover/stand attachment was removable, as I really liked the base case for what it does - The iPad Pro M4 fits VERY snugly inside, and is well protected from all angles, including a sizable screen bumper edge that doesn't make the iPad feel ... MoreThe UAG stuff is always a little "rugged" looking - Its part of their brand. I wish the screen cover/stand attachment was removable, as I really liked the base case for what it does - The iPad Pro M4 fits VERY snugly inside, and is well protected from all angles, including a sizable screen bumper edge that doesn't make the iPad feel super bulky.I wish the same could be said for the "screen cover/stand/closing flap, which cheapens the overall look of the kit. First of all the edges of the "faux-leather-felt" cover are "faux stitched" to give the appearance of leather - Why on something meant to look rugged, not luxurious? It seems a mixed message. Second, the flap that holds this thing closed seems superfluous and always seemed to be in the way of my using the tablet when opened- And the hard case potion offers a bit of a "pencil saddle" for the pen to fit into when magnetically charging on the iPad, so putting a "strap/flap" over it seems silly. Also with all the extra space around the screen, put some little magnets in there and spare us the big flap that seems to have nowhere to go when it's closed. This harkens me to online offshore knock-offs of official Apple cases that couldn't do the magnets right. In the end its highly functional, but I'm going to have the soft parts worn and creased all over where I'm constantly fiddling with them when I am USING the iPad, and I wish they were removable. If you are looking for a VERY protective case that you dont mind looking like it was military issued (but stitched and refined, you know, for the officers) then this one is a good fit. If you want simplicity and elegant protection for your iPad that doesn't feel all floppy and awkward, look elsewhere.
I don’t like using a case on my iPad, especially big and bulky ones that add a lot of weight and thickness but sometimes it’s a necessity. The UAG Metropolis is a nice compromise for me as it gives you good protection when needed, but doesn’t add a lot of bulk. When I’m at home I generally don’t use a case, but when traveling it’s a must for me. The Metropolis has a nice feel with its flexible rubberized part that the iPad is contained in and a nice texturized cover/kickstand. When closed the cover is secured with a magnetic clasp, I just wish it did the same when the cover was open and folded behind it.The case gives you the ability to use it at different angles with the adjustable kickstand. This is nice and works well when the device is sitting on a solid surface like a table, but isn’t great if using it on your lap. The biggest reason is the cover part the is the kickstand is attached (circled in red on my pic) in a way that will allow it to wobble on soft surfaces. This is partly because of how thin it is, so I guess that’s a trade off. The case is nice looking and gives good protection, but has some compromises. It would have been nice if the cover/kickstand part was detachable from the main part of the case, but this would have probably added more bulk.
The UAG Metropolis case for the M4 11" iPad pro is well built, very protective, and a good value. I've used it on my iPad for a few weeks now and have been very happy with the experience.First off, this will ONLY fit the new M4 version of the iPad pro. It does not fit the older 11" ipad pro- it's not even close. The new version is much thinner than the previous version and the other dimensions change as well. You can't sqeeze anything but the M4 ipad in here. I own a new M4 version and the older version, so I tried both. Don't buy it unless you have the M4 version. The case itself is nice. It's is very well built with protective bumpers on all four corners. The case closes and a magnetic latch folds over to hold the cover in place. The magnet is pretty strong and the case never comes open accidentally. When you release the latch, the cover opens and the iPad turns on. There is also a space on the side of the case of carrying your apple pencil securely. It is supposed to allow for charging of the pencil against the iPad when in place. I found this worked about 90% of the time. Other times, it didn't connect. I'm not sure if it was how I put the pencil in the slot or just a problem with the case, but I occassionally walked away thinking my pencil was charging only to find out it wasn't. The case opens up and the cover can be folded back behind the case out of the way or used as a base for watching the ipad in landscape mode. There are notches in the inside cover where you can position the case at various set angles for watching movies, reading recipes (my favorite), or other activities. The notches in the cover plus the weight of the iPad means there is very little movement of the ipad in this mode. Why the deduction of one star? First, the issue with the pencil charging was annoying. If I was careful to place the pencil in the holder, wait for the iPad to recognize it, and then walk away, things were fine. If I just snapped the pencil in without verifying the charging had started, it only worked occassionally. Like I said, this may be user error or a feature of the case. Secondly, and this is a nit, there is a triangular piece of the case that connects the cover to the main body. This is where it folds so the cover can be folded back completely or put into landscape mode using the cover as the base. I found this triangular piece to be very wobbly. I once dropped the ipad, caught it by the cover, and prevented disaster. That weak piece between the cover and the case worried me though. I also wish the case came in ANY other color but black. I little my iPads to stand out. Finally, there was the price. It's a very well built protective case. No doubt about that. Is it worth the high price when there are so many other cheaper options? I think so, but others may disagree.
If I was rating just the packaging, there would be another star or two. I like the design of the box and how a piece of it slides out at an angle to allow for the case to come out.Unfortunately, the iPad case isn’t as good as I was hoping. It is a bit flimsy to the touch and feels too thin overall. Once installed onto the iPad Pro it is a snug fit and will not come off without some effort. In that regard, it is protective as the corners are reinforced and thick enough to make a difference if dropped. The case covers the back well but the front flap is where I feel it is too thin. The automatic on and shut off feature was sporadically working for me. I attribute this to the magnet in the closure flap not being strong enough. It opens too easily and with little effort. This is a problem if you are carrying it and it was to slightly slip in your hand, it could accidentally open too easily leaving the front exposed to damage. When opened up for use, you can fold the cover all the way around and use it in portrait mode nicely. However, if you want to rotate and use it sideways to watch a movie or an application, the grooves on the front flap are not raised enough to hold the device in place very well and it can fall too easily. The case is made to hold the pencil in place but because the magnet is not very strong, it can come out of place and you risk losing it.For the price, I would look for other alternatives. If they come out with another version, I would consider it because they’re on the right track and with minor changes, they could make significant improvements.
