Valentino Donna Born in Roma Green Stravaganza EDP 50ml

Thanks to Influenster I had a chance to test unreleased (yet!) Valentino Donna Born in Roma Green Stravaganza. So here are my thoughts... Wrist test: Donna BiR Green Stravaganza opens with sweetness (of course!), but... It's not sickly sweet as the rest of the line. It's noticeably fresher. I compared it with discontinued Donna Rosa Verde on the other wrist, hoping they will be alike, at least to some extent. And (for my nose) they are, for a while. But where Donna Rosa Verde is green and citrusy, Green Stravaganza is vanilla. There is a bit of floral sweetness (jasmin) too. I'm not a big fan of today's sweet crowd pleasers but this one for me is - surprisingly - quite acceptable. The sweetness here is not sticky or cloying... After more than 15 sprays I can detect tea note, but the smokiness is not prominent. I can smell something fruity, like... pear (???). There's more freshness and warm greenness. I like it more then I did on my wrist, the perfume started working on my skin. After about 2hrs it's kind of similar to CK Beauty, the same softness, delicate sweetness and comfort. It's not something groundbreaking, but it's nice. Just nice. For me of course, as I'm pretty sure there will be many enthusiasts of the fragrance. Some will buy it for a bottle because it's very pretty. Green Stravaganza would be good for spring as an everyday scent, it's not overpowering, doesn't project heavily and the sillage is moderate. Longevity on my skin is not great either, but again - my skin doesn't hold perfumes for very long, so for someone with better pH longevity could be different. I was hoping for something a bit more unusual (with prominent smoky tea note), but it's just another crowd pleaser. If you're someone who loves not particulary overwhelming, uncomplicated scents this perfume might be a good choice.

This is worth it though because it is potent. It does not dissipate after many hours of wearing as I have had it for the last day and I’m overwhelmed by how much I love this Valentino perfume.  I Highly recommend going to your nearest Sephora to go smell it and test it out if you can because it is one of the best perfumes and I have tried so many over the last few decades and I can attest to that! All in all, I really enjoyed this fragrance from the House of Valentino called Born in Roma Green Stravaganza. I think it is a safe buy because the scent is not too overpowering, and I believe that the notes are blended beautifully in this perfume. Like I stated previously, this perfume would be best suited for spring/summer days. I would highly recommend this fragrance to my family and friends.

One if my favorite things about this perfume is the bottle packaging! It’s a beautiful lime green and black color that really pops on my vanity. I loved the feel of the little studs on the bottle as it made it easier to grip, along with a “rocker” look. The spray part actually has a leather look to it, which was a nice touch. The packaging is simple, but still showed the same studded design as the bottle. And the lime green color is super bright stands out. With spraying it 3x, I’d say it only lasted 3-4 hours. Which was very surprising to me considering other Valentino perfumes have lasted way longer. I’m personally not a fan if this fragrance and wouldn’t purchase for myself. Again it could just be my own body chemistry, so I’d suggest trying yourself as it may smell differently on you.

Bottled perfection

I am absolutely blown away, I have never been so obsessed with a perfume. This hits all the right nostalgia notes, and I get compliments every single time someone gets near me. I've been sleeping with this perfume on at night because it seems like I even fall asleep faster with it on, and this morning when I woke up I realized I was having a dream about it. Haha! What a wild scent, truly magic for me.

Truly in love with this

A couple years ago I bought Alien by Mugler, and I thought I really loved it. I did! I still do, but I never wore it regularly. I never wore any perfume regularly, I never cared about it enough to remember until a special occasion. I went to Ulta a week or two ago looking for a new scent because I ended up gifting the bottle to my little sister, who also loved Alien. That's when I saw Donna Stravaganza in it's beautiful bottle on the shelf. I tried it, and instantly knew I needed it in my life. This is like Alien if they called it "Earthling". Stravaganza really does have a green scent, and that's the color I envision every time I smell it. Last night I had a dream about it because it apparently lives completely rent free in my brain. If you like a mix of warm and clean, this is your best bet.

I will definitely be wearing it during the spring and into summer, altering the application methods to best suit the occasion.

Overall, this is a beautiful, warm fragrance that wears well throughout the day! I find myself having to use less of this perfume than I normally would because of how long it wears if applied properly. This is quickly becoming one of my favorites, and I find myself turning to it more than my tried and true smells. The vanilla adding a delicate sweetness.As it settles down, the tea note blooms. Its smoothness comes forward while the Jasmine settles down and stays floral (perhaps due to the tea note). On dry-down it becomes a warm and smooth tea with floral hints and the vanilla dancing throughout like the smoke swirl from a cup of hot tea.If you like a warm tea fragrance with vanilla and floral, this might be for you.
