Vallejo Model Colour - Gloss White 17 ml
Model Color, is a range of opaque and highly pigmented acrylic water-based colors, especially formulated for brush application on models and miniatures of resin, plastic or metal. The colors cover extremely well and extend easily without concealing the most minute details of the figures or vehicles. All the colors can be mixed with one another and dry to a mat, even finish without leaving traces of brushstrokes; they can be diluted with water or Vallejo Thinner. For airbrushing it is recommended to dilute the colors with 50% Airbrush Thinner. Possible mistakes can be corrected immediately with water or alcohol. Once dry, the colors are waterproof and permanent. The range contains a selection of military colors with equivalencies to RAL, RLM and FS values, as well as metallic colors, glazes, transparent and fluorescent colors. The transparent colors can be applied directly for the tinting of headlights and signal lights; when diluted with Gloss Medium, these colors are ideal for tinting airplane or car windows (smoked glass). The glazes are used for a quick shading of the figure or model.

Good read, especially for people new to the WH 40k Universe. But its the same over and over. Now on 9th edition with nothing new since 2010. Overwhelming odds to the point its too much. How could anyone defeat the bad guys? The Ork, Tyrannids, and Daemons are built up like all powerful and unstoppable. But, Im a sucker for this stuff and will continue to collect and read.

I used it on PVC/ABS plastic and it's glossy but more of a satin type (so not for car models or super glossy). It's thinned with water and a small mount can spear evenly over a larger area so only a small amount needs to be used (plamo or miniatures). Great for wet pallets as well. The colour pigment is strong and smooth. It has a nozzle and is squeezed to get out paint however if left sideways without screwing on cap then will leak paint. When hand painting it does not pick up lower layers or paint you have just applied (unlike tamiya) and doesn't react when painted onto or on top of another colour (I haven't tested that though). Packaged well, as described and arrived on time. I hate using pure white while highlighting models- I always have the paint dry out on the brush or turn chalky while using it.They threw a small amount of some sort of tan into this. If you weren't comparing it to pure white you'd have no idea. It's a little smoother, and has a longer working time before it seems to dry. Works decently well as an edge-highlight too. That being said you can always go over this with pure white in certain points, but usually this looks close enough that you wont need to

I have a love/hate relationship with this paint. This was the color I needed and I used it and I was happy with the results. I've been using Vallejo paints for several years and always with mixed results. It seems there is a mix ratio I haven't exactly found when I'm using this paint in my airbrush. I get pretty good results with brush painting pieces but I tend to not be overly satisfied by the results.
Not fond of this. Either I received a bad product or overall it pretty much sucks to use. This came out almost as thinner than most acrylic paint so putting it on something was difficult. It took quite some time to dry because of this so forming it was a pain, and once it began to thicken it did so quite quickly. The second issue I had was cleaning and sanding. It did not work well here either. When it was dry (24-48 hours) It was not hard at all. It sanded off powdery and lacked any real cohesion. It reminds me of opening a bag of cement that was exposed to too much humidity and hardened together but comes apart with a little sanding and work. However for what I have used it for, it has ended up working in the end. It paints fairly well, and is easy covered with a ... MoreNot fond of this. Because the end use I give it 3 stars otherwise it would be only 1.
One of my staple paints; use it in every build! Vallejo is my go-to paint brush paint! High viscosity from the bottle, but can be thinned out with water or thinner easily, and use it with airbrush. Can add flow improver to the paint to reduce airbrush clogging. Seller shipped fast, hassle free transaction~! Am a repeated customer!
This paint is my starting colour to transition to a brighter orange, and it's overall fine.On its own it takes a ton of layers to get good coverage. When mixed with other colours it works very well.Classic Red paint issues.Don't be too surprised when putting a 5th layer on if you're starting from black or grey
You might want to do your own experimenting, but I can say that this stuff definitely cracks. I made sure to let the colored paint dry thoroughly before using the crackle paint, and I also made sure not to disturb the crackle paint much as soon as I painted it on. The crackle paint was a bit of a thicker layer that I slapped on and didn't spread around too much. The directions are a little confusing. It says "brush over basecoat of acrylic color. Once dry, cracks will appear. They will be more visible under second coat of contrasting color. Use varnish to protect coating." To be clear, this stuff cracks the layer that it is painted ON, as in, the "basecoat" is the layer that gets cracked. To be clear, this stuff cracks the layer that it is painted ON, as in, the "basecoat" is the layer that gets cracked. I don't understand the wording of the instructions saying the cracks will be more visible UNDER a second coat - it seems it would just fill in the cracks a bit if it was under a second coat. I dunno. I attached some photos to show you my experience. I had gray primer, then I painted a layer of black, and then painted on the crackle stuff. Then I painted a wash of red. I think I was supposed to paint red, then paint black on top, and then the crackle on top. I'm no expert though. But like I said, it gives you cracks. No peeling unfortunately, but definitely crackle.
Vallejo's quality always seems disappointing. Takes a lot more product, more layers than it should. Dries highlighting flaws. Streaks, or even if you're careful and do more than one coat, the "gloss" isn't very glossy. More like a semi-matte finish that is "glossy" unevenly. I hate it. Sorry, just every Vallejo paint I've gotten has handle poorly and felt like a very cheap knock off of other brands.I've had great experiences with Army Painter Warpaint Metallics (haven't tried as much from them), anything Citadel, Reaper.
