Everyday use + BMX. I've only bought Vans shoes for several years and have had consistently good experiences. This model of the color combination is really the last garbage. After two weeks, the heel collar of one shoe tore when I slipped it on. I didn't look too bad because this has never happened to me before with any other shoe. Now, after 4 months on the left and 6 months on the right, the soles are simply coming loose on both sides. I have now tried to glue them again but of course they don't stick perfectly, which is a real shame as these are some of the best shoes for riding so far. I can only agree with the other reviews.... Go Era or Old School
After wearing Era's and Old Schools for 20 years, I got a pair of authentics. They were the only thing in stock in the all black. After wearing the two other shoes and then the authentics, I can say without a doubt they are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. I made the mistake of getting these before going into a new job. My heels, my back, everything waist down is killing me. I am not an old man, i started wearing vans at 8 years old. I am Vans Family for life, but I will not be buying another pair of these shoes. I just might burn them or put them through a wood chipper out of spite.... Show more

Good Shoes, Seem Legit Vans; Vans has Reduced Quality
Shoes are good, totally fine.I have another 2-3 pairs that represent these exact Authentic style / brand of Vans. The old shoes have substantially more padding into the canvas, especially at the heel. The ones I bought here are canvas only, 0 padding. Not necessarily bad, because that padding doesn't do a ton, but it is indeed a noticeable drop in quality.I buy the shoes for the flatness and for the flex in the width, which flexes better than any other shoe of any other material. Also just generally looks good. But yeah, if you're going to hold these at a standard of your past purchases, you'll be disappointed.... Show more

Great shoes for some but if your coming from High top sk8 pros you will not enjoy these.
Have bought countless pairs of hightop sk8 pros and am their biggest advocate. These half cabs are size 11 and they still dont fit me and I have no hope of tying the laces? im size 10 and always have been with vans why are these difrently sized ? I cant take them back as I got them as a gift but they are un skatable they feel like a size 9 and actually hurt my feet but say 11 and I cant tie the laces? Really confused as to why these are sized difrently and why are the laces so short ? If id bought size 12 and some long laces id be allgood.Might have to go back to high tops because I feel like I cant skate these ? Gutted as the look alright tooI can see flatground skaters enjoying them but you need to size up!... Show more

I would buy these again, however..
They feel good once on and broken in, the build is solid the material is solid, Aesthetically they will work with any look. However the "size 11 Uk" just isnt a "size 11 UK", I have multiple other pairs of VANs shoes of differing styles all size 11 Uk, which have fittted perfectly out of the box, with minimal redoing of the laces. However these seem to be designed for someone who's foot is a flat thin plane with a sharp 90 turn at the ankle then vertical. It is not possible for me to use the metal Eyelet on this pair shoes with my foot shape, the red inside tounge piece is stretched out of the the shoe as well and im worried that by wearing them as I am I am putting excess stress on that elastic red piece, potentially causing them to fail well before wearing any ... Love the pigskin edition, but... no spare laces?!?!
Love this pigskin edition of Half Cabs, they're my go-to skate shoe. Foot support is so solid, without being clunky or sacrificing boardfeel. As with all SKATE models, go a half size up to compensate for the popcush. And they take extra time to break in. Once they do, and griptape starts to round-out the soles, so nice and comfy.But... no baggie with spare laces?!?! What up with that? Not even a sticker tag. Pretty disappointing if this is new norm for SKATE Vans. An extra pair of laces is essential added value for skate shoes, typically the first thing I wear through. And the stock Vans replacement laces aren't the same quality. Could be a deal breaker for me next time.... Show more

Not sure if I would buy again
All I wear is vans, but recently I bought wide shoes and they were completely too big and slid off so I bought the regular authentic and still the Backing of the shoe is too big, my shoes are the same size I have previously bought and this new pair slip off when I walk. Compared to old shoes the backing is wider. I have bought many pairs and it's very upsetting I can't return due to shoes already worn. If sizing and fit is different then a warning should be noted. I have bought many pairs and never had an issue. What a waste of money. It's like maybe this pair will fit maybe not!... Show more

NOT WIDE ENOUGH
I need flat, zero-drop shoes for casual everyday wear. I used to love wearing Vans, but my feet have grown wider over the years and now they're too narrow. I thought the Authentic Wide might work -- sadly, it does not.If you have a D-width foot, these shoes might be perfect for you. My 2E (female) feet are just too wide for them. Also would've liked a bit more cushioning for my (ahem!) older feet.As wide shoes go, these really aren't very wide. As you can see in the pics, these are about a "pinky toe" too narrow for my feet. It's my understanding that shoe companies including Vans are making shoes smaller to save on costs and maximize their profits. Product
When I first started using this product I was actually around 5 or 6 years old. I understood were the shoe was coming from and the company that was making them. Vans have always been popular throughout the years and I am one who enjoys wearing them with every fit I wear. Not only do they look nice but they go with pretty much every clothing style. I'm 17 years old till this day and I continue to buy them and wear them at all times. This product makes a great connection and attraction to young and active consumers. The purpose of this product is for everyone to have a iconic foot experience. The main strengths of this product is first, the great and strong quality of the shoe itself. Once you have purchased this product I guarantee you one pair of shoes will last more than a year before it starts to tear up or rip apart. This shoe has such a strong material when it comes to being used. For one example , I used to skateboard a lot when I was in middle school and I would always use different shoes to test out my tricks. Since there is grip tape on each board a shoe will mostly be badly damaged at the end of every other trick. I've tested out plenty of shoes in the past but they always ended up quickly ripping or damaged till the point I had to get new shoes every time. I started using the Vans more often and they helped so much because everytime I would do a crazy trick, the shoe still looked brand new. Sooner or later from too much scratching you do some marks on the grip tape depending on your kind of shoe as well. From all the shoes I had worn, vans have been the only that has lasted me the longest. There are many athletes and skateboarders that could also agree with me.Not only because of the quality as well because of how comfortable and outgoing they are.... Show more

There are many athletes and skateboarders that could also agree with me.Not only because of the quality as well because of how comfortable and outgoing they are.Not only has this product been sold worldwide but they are also one of the best affordable shoes. The best and cheapest shoes you could get, go for 30$ at the nearest stores around you. Not many people can afford a normal $50-$60 pair. Many people want to own a pair and I think having a good decent price for the people really makes a change for the company and the community. This will lead more consumers to buy on an average.Since prices are also higher than the others that doesn't mean each shoe has a less downgrade or something. It simply means the change of the color and style.Everytime I walk into the store and choose my pair of shoes I'm going to buy, I'm always satisfied with my purchase and later recommend them to others. Another strength is they come in a variety of colors and styles for both men and women. This is a really great thing for the people because many people have a different taste in shoes including me and having to pick a choice of your own is very helpful. Vans could possibly have a color you probably thought was never there. Over the years the company has also made a customizer that lets you put any time of design on your next order of shoes. You could really imagine wearing a comfortable pair of shoes with your favorite design on them.Vans are comfortable shoes at the end of the day but one weakness this product has is they are not good for our feet because they have trouble keeping our feet warm and dry. Since the material is strong and thin the best thing to do is change up the inside of the shoe and replace it with some wool. I am actually one to experience because after walking or doing a specific activity in these shoes. The foot always feels wet and hardly any dry. I have also tried different types of socks to test them out but they always feel the same.Overall the shoe is fantastic and everyone should get several pairs including you if you haven't already. As a consumer I'm always satisfied and I have several friends and family members that feel the same way. I'm sure this positive product will continue increasing to the top for many years. This product has never let me down and I'm sure it won't let you down either. These shoes will always look clean on all fits and also depending on the color you are wearing.... Show more
