I bought this shoe a while ago. I would like there to be memory foam on the sides and bottom of the shoe for more comfort. I think it would also be better with thicker laces. However I like the shoe overall and have worn this multiple times.

There's a reason they've been made for 30 + years. Whether used for skating or just for everyday wear, this has been on of my favorite shoes for almost half my life at this point. They look great, are decently priced, and once broken in, you can't do much better as far as skate shoes go. If arch support is a major concern, I'd definitely look elsewhere and if used for their intended purpose (i.e. skateboarding), I've made pretty short work of them, but generally without constant abuse, they can take a pretty decent beating. I've always admired Vans from a far and glad I bought these. These are very well made shoes. Super comfortable and look really cute on. I usually wear a size 7 in running shoes but I sized down a half size. 6 1/2 fits perfectly.The only negative would be the super long shoelaces. I’m not sure why they’re so long! I’ll probably swap them out for shorter ones.
The shoes I ordered for my granddaughter were very nice but unfortunately they were too narrow and also too small. This was very disappointing and I have returned them to you. Due to the sizing difficulty I was unsure what do about a replacement and have not reordered.
Asos says these have a faux-suede upper, but the actual shoes say they're made of real leather and suede. I spent a long time trying to find Vans that don't use animal products but shouldn't have trusted Asos's descriptions, I guess they just make them up? The shoes are fine but have been returned as they're made with animal products :(
I wasn’t sure about sizing since I previously owned Vans Authentic and had to go a half size down. I wear a women’s 7.5 in almost all my shoes, (ie Converse Chucks) but occasionally I need to go down to a 7, which I did for my Vans Authentic since 7.5 was too loose. I read many reviews for the Old Skool and some said size up, some size down, others true to size. Since it was pretty confusing I decided to just go with what I got before in Vans and got a size 7 women’s. While the 7 does fit, they are a bit tight and uncomfortable. My toes have zero wiggle room, which is a most for me, as I hate my foot feeling cramped. I’ll be returning for a 7.5 since I love the shoes otherwise!
Bought for my partner who is vegan so does not wear leather. These appear to be just canvas trainers but they have a pointless strip of leather on the inside. I guess this is maybe for comfort but could’ve been made faux leather. Had to return and buy the Vans Era trainers instead. Shame because the old school style is nice.

Today I wore them for my first time and immediately I noticed that they were two different shades of white and one shoe looked “dirty”. I unfortunately didn’t notice while I was indoors, but in the sunlight it was so apparent. My family was asking me if I mix matched two different shoes. The rubber was grayish and the canvas was more of yellow tone on the right shoe. I wish I would have taken a photo, but it’s currently soaking in bleach. I hope this works. Definitely not buying shoes from Nordstrom online ever again.
