I did size up half a size because they can be a bit narrow. Otherwise, I would recommend to a friend!

Bought for birthday present for hubby. He used to get the tie up, checkered ones without the front patch--it seems that old style isn't made any more? Have to return because he doesn't care for this version of the checkered sneaker. Will have to stay with the slip-ons.

I have bought these checkerboard vans at least 6xs in the past 2 years because my son's feet keep growing. He loves these shoes and requests that I buy the same style each time. They look good with his school uniform and with the sweats and shorts he wears on the weekends. Love that these don't cost over $100 and last until his foot grows out of them.
I bought these for my daughter as a gift, they were exactly what she wanted. But I just wanted to point out that the white on the checkers is not true white, they’re more of an off white. The stripe along the side is true white. I didn’t know there was a difference, until i spoke to Vans. I think I’m the only one that notices, because I pay attention to detail. I If you’re looking for the true white checkers these are not them, but Vans does make some! My daughter loves them! She did know that these were not the true white checkers.

I order these on a Thursday with standard ground shipping, I was really surprised they were delivered the next day. I ordered these in my regular size 7 women's and the sneaker fit perfect for my normal size 7 and width is great for wide feet people. Comfortable to wear with socks but too big to wear without socks. These are a great casual shoe to knock around in but if you are seriously going to walk more than 5 miles, I wouldn't recommend because the foot support isn't there. However, these are a great comfy and stylish shoe that look good with leggings and jeans.
