I bought these right before a ski trip that turned into only snowshoeing and I'm glad I did. I didn't have footwear to withstand the cold living in Colorado and shoveling snow, but these fit the bill. I read other reviews and a lot of them said to size up and they were right. I wear a size 10 in sneakers and ordered an 11, which fit great. There was a little room, but with a slightly thicker sock they were perfect. The lining inside kept my feet warm, but not sweaty warm. I was able to snowshoe and shovel snow comfortably.

Great protection from rain and enough insulation to keep feet, ankle and lower shin nice and warm. Only concern is the insoles, needs slightly more cushioning underfoot. Apart from that, great pair of boots. Wide shoe shape, and stiff upper feels hefty on feet, but perfect for keeping rain, and potentially snow off.

These are excellent snow boots, warm dry and really comfy - more sneaker like than others I've tried.I found clear sizing info hard to find so here is a take - I wear regular Vans in a 9.5. I ordered these in a 10. When I first put them on they felt too small, this is partly because the shape pushes your toes forward so they feel squashed but you have room at the heel. When you lace them properly it places your foot correctly. For me this was still a pretty snug fit so I wore them in the house a bit and decided the fit was good for me. After a few weeks they have stretched a bit or the padding has compounded a bit and they are a really good fit laced or not and super comfy.Recommend going half a size up and give them a chance after first trying on.

Look great, quality seems solid so far. Comfy, fit pretty true to size. I usually wear a 9.5 in Van's shoes for a super snug fit but got these in a 10 for a little extra room. Good traction in snow, not super great on ice though. Wore them in -25C shoveling the driveway and they kept my feet decently warm, any colder than that might be pushing it. Especially if you're not moving around much. Overall, pretty good boots for bombing around in moderately cold weather!
Needed to return for size up. Tongue is stiff and does not articulate well when tied. Feels like there is a pressure point on top of midfoot when walking, but haven’t worn much yet. Five stars for the Altitude Sports service!
Out of the box the first thing you notice with the Standard Snow MTE Boot is the plush liner of the upper insole. As you slide your foot into the boot, the thick upper insole gives way to a more roomy instep and toe box to allow a thicker wool sock for maximum warmth and moisture wicking. The lower external rubber portion of the boot looks like it will handle the sludge that accumulates on the side of the road as well as in parking lots, let alone dry snow. I suggest sizing up to accommodate thicker socks. I wear a size 10 in classic and size 11 MTE seems to be perfect. Have a couple winter trips coming up, update to follow.
I usually wear Vans sneakers in a US 6 with thin socks and a US 6.5 for thick socks. I decided to try a size 7 for this winter boots, and they fit well.I’m looking forward to wearing them in colder weather and seeing if they keep my feet warm.
These are really nice and cool lookin snow boots. I wear a 12 in most shoes / boots, I ordered a 12 and was snug on my toes. So ordered a 13. Backcountry was out of stock in March, I contacted customer service, they gave me a refund no problem. Then they told me to call in August when new shipment arrived, so I did, they gave me the 50% off that I originally purchased the first pair for. I can’t say enough good things about Backcountry and they’re customer service,Back to the Vans snow boots, get them, you will love them! I promise, also people will comment to you about how rad they are…
I had my eye on these boots and finally decided to purchase them. Unfortunately, they were WAY too small. I ordered a full-size larger than I normally wear in Vans. I had to shove my foot into the boot and once I finally got them in my toes were scrunched up against the toe and I knew it was a no-go. I had to return them due to the fit but as a side note, the boots that I was sent were used. This is my first purchase from Backcountry and I don't think this is a used gear site but I could be wrong? I bought the boots on sale but there was no indication that they were used on the webpage listing. The boots I received had some medium brown scuff marks on the white sole and had signs of wear on the fuzzy felt inside layer.
