These shoes are fantastic. I needed something for wearing with jeans that has solid traction for work (I'm in roofing) as well as in the rain and in slick conditions. The MTE-1 outsole is aggressive without becoming a trip hazard, and they are warm without roasting your feet. As far as eye candy, they're incredibly good looking and can be worn with most outfits and don't look out of place.Regarding the feel of them, they're very secure and tightness is easily adjusted with the laces. They don't bind in any area along the laces, and the higher top keeps them under your pant legs. The all-black with the gum colored sole makes these very versatile, and I'm now looking at a low top one for wear with shorts.Highly recommend!!

The black with white thread look VERY sharp, much better in person. These remind me of my old nike 6s, but even better, with a cleaner design and sharper contrast, and vans style. They were awesome and dry on a rainy windy florida day.SIZE: got these in 10. They are a little tight around the top front of the foot. For reference, I comfortably wear a 9.5 in vans Era Pro skate, and the standard vans slip-on in 10 is almost too loose on me.if I would have gotten a 10.5 in these, it would have been the equivalent feel of the era pro size 9.5.I normally wear 9.5/10 in vans, these you need to size up half a size.
We're always happy with our Vans. The Ultrarange Exo HI MTE-1 is no exception. I've hiked, lifted, and walked all day in them and they're great. Sturdy, stylish, and super comfy.
I bought these about a month ago and couldn’t be happier. A very comfortable shoe to do anything outdoors in. I did some military training, hiked, hit the pump park, etc. With these bad boys! No need to break the shoe in. It comes ready to go!
Fit is on par where it needs to be and were comfortable right out of the box. I’ve put quite a few miles on them already a will be putting many more on them.
These are NOT green. Bought them as a gift in the grape leaf and they look nothing like the photo! The stock photo is an obvious bright olive green - but in real life they're more like a green-tinged bluish-black. There's no way these shoes are passing off as green to anyone who buys them. Plus, the suede is cut super sloppy with uneven trim and sections where the inner felt lining sticks out past where the leather should have been sewn. I don't see how these could possibly have passed quality control - it's just sad. The sizing was as expected but they look so cheap it's not even worth the comfort. Returning ASAP.

This is the first time I've ever returned a pair of Vans. I love their products and thought these MTE's would fit the bill for some snowy exploring, so I pulled the trigger. Quality is still there, these are very well constructed and great looking boots. The problem I had with these was the smaller-than-normal toe box. It was probably due to the extra insulation they stuffed in there, but even with "regular" socks, these boots cramped my toes. I have a pair of the not-so-insulated MTE's, and they fit fine (true to size). So sad because I wanted these to work out.
