Decent, not great

Wore these during a visit to a theme park and they absolutely destroyed my feet. A lot of walking and standing (around 10 miles a day) and my feet were obliterated by the
end of each day. I felt like I was walking on bricks. I switched to my Sk8 high tops with comfy-cush and they were much more comfortable. I have average feet with a low to
mid arch and also get some lace bite with these even when they are tied loose around the top of the foot.At least they look nice and are super light. Good for a gym workout
or light training. Anything more than that, go with another option.

I'll start with the positives; they're comfier than converse, the material cleans well and they're a narrower fit than typical vans so suit my feet quite well.Negatvies: after only 5
months of light use, the back loop has come off (see attached image). This is very surprising since I haven't put that much milage on them! Vans Customer service decided
this was 'wear and tear' so have refused a warranty claim.I'm pretty concerned about their durability now, I'm not expecting them to last as long as my (much cheaper)
converse.Another negative is the price. They cost more than I paid for some carbon plated running shoes! They shouldn't cost more than £60 on account of the ... Show more

I just bought a pair of these. I own many pairs of vans. The right and left shoes are different. In the top of the ankle on the right shoe, there was a sharp pard object that dug
into the back of my ankle. I cut it off with scissors which messed up the fabric in the back. It still hasn't fixed the problem, so I'm planning to cut some more off. I think it is
related to how the loop in the back of the ankle is sewed into the shoe. The left shoe is fine. My right ankle had an open sore for about 4 days after wearing the shoes for the
first time, which was before I cut off that spot. I have several pairs of slip ons that have no issues, but every pair of lace ups I've gotten from vans has problems. I ... Show more

Not comfortable
8 November 2023
There is a seem right in the middle of the heel cuff. So even though the shoe fits well and my heel doesn't slip, there is some irritation when walking, even when wearing a thicker sock. The tongue also has an odd square cushion in the middle of it. Honestly the whole shoe seems oddly designed. I returned to the UltraRange line because I loved having a vans fit with a more walk friendly shape in the past, but these definitely fell below my expectations. These shoes aren't worth it, even on sale!... Show more

One major flaw
20 April 2023
I have had these shoes for over a year and loved everything about them except for one major flaw: there is a massive seam on the curve of the inside back heel that gives me blisters every time I wear them. I eventually had to put duct tape on the back inside of the shoes which obviously looked awful. Even the duct tape rubbed away, that's how massive this seam is. Maybe my heels are taller than average but it just didn't work for me. I'm really disappointed that these shoes have such an obvious flaw because I liked everything else about them. They are great for high arches and very cushioned. They look great too. I loved the ultrarange gore, which had a smooth inside heel, but I won't be buying these again until Vans fixes this issue.... One of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn
22 February 2023
*First off let me say as a warning to anyone looking into these shoes and doing research and reading reviews... DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES.*I have been buying and wearing vans my entire adult life. Started in high school and have bought vans and worn then until they nearly disintegrate ever since. I had my eyes on these shoes for a while because I think they look really nice. Reviews seemed promising and the thought of the classic vans style with more support and comfort seemed like it could be "the perfect shoe".Holy cow was I wrong. Reviews seemed promising and the thought of the classic vans style with more support and comfort seemed like it could be "the perfect shoe".Holy cow was I wrong. I have only had these shoes for TWO DAYS and they are absolutely MISERABLE. Walking in them, every step feels like they are going to literally tear my heel off my body. I got the same size I wear every shoe in and compared to my authentics they aren't THAT much of a difference size-wise on the outside. I put an insert in my shoes to see if that would help and it sort of fixed the heel problem but made my toes even more crushed. They are already mildly squished in there to begin with. The right shoe also seems to give me a sharp sensation on my Achilles tendon as if I was literally being pierced or scraped with something. I try to feel around with my fingers and literally can't seem to find out what it is, but when I wear them it's like the shoes are actively trying to harm me.The last time I had shoes this horrible and uncomfortable was like when I was a kid and had to wear cheap dress shoes for Easter or something like that. If I could rate these shoes a half a star I would. If I could rate them zero stars I would. I actually desperately tried to break them in some to make them more tolerable. I literally folded the shoes in half and stacked books on top of them and sat them there over night to try to accelerate the "break-in" process. Boy does that suck. I shouldn't HAVE to do that for a shoe to even be wearable. If there was one good thing I could say about them, I still think these are good looking shoes. So there, have your one star for style. Eat my shorts vans, these are terrible. DO NOT BUY!... Show more

Overall Great
2 November 2022
These are, by far, the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. They're lightweight and the soles are so cushioned. They're so great that I immediately bought a second pair to have on deck in case they stopped selling them! That said, the major downside is the durability. I bought a pair in April and by mid-August the mesh towards the front of the shoe and on the sides was ripped. They're still wearable as there's another layer underneath the mesh, but I'd have expected better. Admittedly, I wore them almost every day, walking between 3-8km most days, but even so, for a shoe that is literally designed for comfort over long periods of time, I'd have expected them to last longer.Overall, I'm still a huge fan of these shoes purely based on the comfort, I just ... MoreThese are, by far, the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. If they can fix the durability issue while retaining the unbelievable comfort, they'll have made the best shoe ever.... Show more

Quality heading in wrong direction
31 October 2023
Where to start. I've had these Uktrarange for best part of 6 years but I've found the quality and comfort has gone downhill with each year.My originals lasted 5 years but I'm getting a year out of the recent versions.I've found sizing to vary between colours. Was always a Vans 10 UK, but found I had to size down half size to a 9..5 UK. That was fine with my black/white pair but I bought a pair of blue in the same size and those are at least a half size bigger than they're supposed to be. They're noticeably large when side-by-side with the black/white. So much that they're starting to rub at the heel. The heel has been an issue for me for the last few years with a harder material (I'm assuming to improve wear) but it causes blisters.Would still recommend but ... MoreWhere to start. They've made them worse over the years
18 March 2024
I have been buying these for 5-6 years and they've always been the comfiest pair of Vans, great for hiking and everyday use. Because I literally wear them every single day, I get through a pair in around 1-1.5 years before they get holes in them, then I buy another pair. Bought a new pair just after Christmas and the random blue bit stitched to the back of the heel has not stopped rubbing and giving me blisters, no matter how many pairs of socks I wear. So, so disappointing because I used to love these shoes. Why is that one bit SO uncomfortable with such raised, jagged stitching?? :(... Show more

Wanted to love them...
29 January 2024
I really love the look of these and I've never really had vans so I was stoked to see that Nike owned vans now (I run 10k 3x a week). Been a Converse chucks/New Balance 997h guy for casual wear my whole life and couldn't wait to get these. I was going to use them as my daily casual shoe and get a few in other colours. The cushioning is incredible, they look amazing, but unfortunately...-incredibly narrow and tight toe box. can barely move my toes up. very uncomfortable.-shallow heel, so even if I took out the insoles and added my own orthotics my foot would slip out of the heelreally sad! no love for orthotics users and those with wider toe boxes. booooooo!...
