This N2 Pro dash cam is phenomal. The fact that it's 2 channel recording is in 1080p is great enough, but the night vision/IR on the rear (cabin) facing camera is essential to my use as an Uber and Lyft driver. On the second night of having the camera I had a distruptive Uber Pool passenger. He was rude and annoying the other pool passengers. I pulled over to end the pool ride for this guy and he threatened to 1-star review me and said he'd tell Uber that I was the rude one, and that he'd get his money back for me cancelling the ride. I told him to go ahead, because my N2 Pro dash camera was recording this whole event, and I'd be sure that Uber saw what really happened. After that, he shut up and we had no more issues. Buttons small and not responsive. Sometimes work and other times don't work. Poor suction cup performance (make sure you have it tied to something because it will drop off once in a while). The red circle in the upper left of the screen said it was recording but it was not recording properly. Yes, I purchased the recommended storage SD disk for this dash cam. Once it is recording, difficult to stop it and get back to the main menu. Sometimes records a video and playback is at a very fast pace; can't get it to slow down. Tried to toggle to night vision mode by briefly pressing the power button (as per instructions); it doesn't work. No indicator to confirm when in parking mode if it is going to record or not. I bought this camera for use in my car for Uber rides for my protection. The front camera had really good resolution, but the rear facing camera is NOT AT ALL night time friendly. If you are looking for something to see inside the car at night, do not buy this product. I know it's not specifically designed for night viewing, but I didn't think it would be as poor as it is. Also the suction cup mount works well, but the swivel is already worn out. It will no longer stay where I place it. It stays for about two seconds then flops to where gravity wants it to go, so it ends up looking towards the trees instead of the road. I'm going to try and put something sticky into the swivel to see if I can get it to stay. It's only 8 months old; maybe they will do something about ... The video is HD quality, portable/TRANSFER from car to car you drive without installation hassle. Get 256 Gb memory card for 24hrs looping record. Can hock/connect to power bank for use as gopro. It used very little power on my powerbank. Record front and back with night vision*****. It takes photo while recording. Buy SD Memory card from Walmart/BestBuy nearest store only and try it, because you can easily return it if problem arise. I hope this helps someone. I bought total of two after trying the first one, I am HOOK on this dash.
I researched this and it's very highly recommended by several sites. It's perfect if you want interior and exterior recording. The images were high quality, menu was simple. It doesn't have the Wi-Fi option, which I actually prefer. Otherwise my phone always tries to connect to a camera instead of CarPlay. Couple of things to know. First, they strongly recommend only Samsung SD cards be used. I didn't try SanDisk so can't comment. Secondly, the power connection only has a non-removeable cigarette lighter terminal. Usually these have usb cable and option to use adapter or not. But this doesn't. In my new car, there is only usb ports, nothing else. I had to purchase a cable to power the camera that way. Keep these points in mind so you are all set to install.

I requested that they make a change so that when loop recording is turned off the camera simply continues to record into one file. They have not been able to do this thus far. My second complaint is the design of the windshield mount. The unit is shipped with only a suction mountwhich may or may not hold. Other manufactures include both a suction as well as an adhesive mount. Third complaint is the GPS function is not built into the camera. You are required to buy a 30 dollar GPS mount which either comes in suction cup or adhesive. Power is attached to the unit through the mount which becomes cumbersome and prevents you from rotating the camera more than a few degrees because there is a wire inside the mount. I have been able to contact DOD and they have shipped me their latest 4K model (UHD4K) directly from Taiwan. Unfortunately I will be returning this unit.
Over 2 years still working and taking great photos and videos. Only part i didn't like it power cable. Doesn't have to be cigarette lighter just usb will be great for me. my case i have to purchase another power cable.
Elegant hardware design with.excellent video quality. Could be made easier to swap memory cards. My main complaint is that all available resolutions consume memory fast - 64 gig memory in about 5 hours. Loop mode will then start deleting older files for space. I would like to have some lower resolution recording modes that could save video for an entire driving day.. The Picture In Picture LCD monitor window view would be useful as a recording mode. Vantrue could add this with a firmware upgrade. Directions call for reformatting the memory cards every 1-2 weeks to maintain performance. Not sure why - fragmentation?
This is my second N2. It is great insurance to make certain the true story of whatever is encountered gets documented. Its forward facing camera is just good enough to capture tags (up close) and its interior camera documents what YOU were (or were NOT) doing. A friend was wrongfully accused of using his cell phone while driving. Without the benefit of this kind of a camera he spent significant dollars on an attorney and many more hours of his time before the ticket was dismissed in Winslow Twp.,NJ Court. His experience convinced me this camera is REQUIRED for driving in South Jersey. The only negative is the interior camera does not have night vision and at night has worthless interior video.

Once finally setup and installed, used it on the commute to work, it kept shutting off, so I assumed it was just saving the LED display. Didn't have any indicater lights to say yay or nay It does not have wi-fi capability so I had to connect to computer. I went to the files and only found files of me connecting and powering on. I bought this product to record all the crazy things I have seen on the highway and if it is overwriting files as soon as it turns on it serves no purpose. Instructions were so vague and confusing.
