Been eye’ing for a year! Finally took the plunge! Simple, classic, and versatile. I’m hoping it’ll give me a lot of miles. Why just 4 stars? It doesn’t have a lot of cushion and support, tongue is too long that it rubs against the top of my foot (work around - fold under), and the sides rub against my ankles (work around - use heel lifts).

I bought this pair of sneakers less than 6 months ago and the bottom of the sole has split from the side making these completely unwearable. Got stuck in some rain for not even 5 minutes and the inside was completely soaked because of the split. Veja as a brand said thats "normal wear and tear" after FIVE MONTHS! Absolutely not worth the money - I've had much cheaper pairs of sneaker last far longer.

Absolutely love the style and a good trick for the stiff tongue is to not lace up all the wayHowever, although the shoes seem like great quality they simply don't hold up. I've had mine for 5 months and wear them frequently ~5x/week. The inside heels of both of my shoes have tears and I started to see the laces fray a few months in before they both eventually snapped. Very disappointing for this price point and for a company that I wanted to support

This is my first time buying this brand. I’m 46 years old, narrow foot, and thin ankles. Style is a 5, and comfort is a 2. My perfect size is an 8.5N. My back heel slips on the size 8, but a heel liner fixed the problem. The shoe tongue is very hard and uncomfortable. It left a red sore on one foot. I will add moleskin to this area. There is not enough cushion in the soles, so I won’t be waking long distances in these sneakers. I did notice my feet became very warm and sweaty, which was strange for me. Overall great style, but lacks comfort.
I normally wear size 8-8.5 US. I gained weight and my feet got bigger so now I go for size 8.5 and if unavailable I do size 9 and am very comfortable. BUT I got the size 8 and this shoe has stretched out and is amazing. Did not hug my foot uncomfortably at all. I need to re-lace to tighten them now but don’t care to at the moment. They’re the best shoes. CONVERSE SUCKS compared to veja!!!! For the wider foot ladies out there BUY THIS SHOE! So cute I wear them everyday with casual clothes. Thank you VEJA!!!!
I have had my first pair since 2019, and they still look great and have gone to multiple states and countries with me. As someone with a normal to slightly wide foot bed these are amazing. I honestly only have amazing things to say about them. I have a size 39 and I have around an 8.5 foot and always wear socks with these!
I love this shoe. I now have three pairs and just ordered the extra white. The Esplar is perfect for me. I have small feet, about a 6 so I ordered a 37. I wear mine almost everyday. I have developed some issues with my feet and with a knee and these look great with nearly everything and are comfortable. I haven’t really had issues with the tongue, but I do feel that they require a period of breaking in. As I have a bit of a bunion I find the Esplar to be the more comfortable between this style and the Campo. The Campo has a higher wall of rubber and it is not as flexible nor does it stretch because of the higher rubber wall. The Esplar has a lower rubber wall and the leather stretches to expand at the point where my bunion is. I wear these sneakers with skirts and ... MoreI love this shoe. I haven’t finished the break-in phase yet so it remains 4-star as of now.Absolutely no doubt that these are great for any kind of outfit. I think my main problem is my legs are not long enough, so these would make me look shorter if my ankles are covered by regular length pants. They look the best on me when I’m wearing ankle-length jeans, leggings, and joggers (of course with socks that’d expose my ankles).I’ve seen people shying away from these because it’s too stiff when first put on. Yes they’re not as comfy as those Adidas sneakers, but with about 5 days of break-in period the tongues can get softer for sure (I’m at the end of this phase now). I also untied the laces & just tugged them to the sides. I also untied the laces & just tugged them to the sides. That way there’s room for the front part of ankles when walking around the house and easier to break-in with a pair of thick, taller socks. These are true to size. I’m usually an US9 in women’s shoes and 9 feels ok on my feet so far (with socks).
This came to me through trunk club and I really liked the look. I’m normally a size 7 in sneakers, which is what I received. The problem was that my heel came up when walking, with socks, even with the laces cinched up. I thought maybe since these are “unisex sizing” I should size down? I did and not only does my heel still come up, the shoe tongue hurts digging into the top of my foot/ankle but my toe hits up against the toe box. It’s just a poorly made shoe. Too expensive to boot. Yeah I’m a fan of trying to save the environment and wear shoes made of plastic but these are a fail. They look very cute on though.
I wanted vejas and ordered both these esplars and a similar campo. I found the veja size chart to be off. I’m usually a 7.5-8 in shoes, but often an 8.5 in lifestyle sneakers. I originally tried a 39, since that said 8, but it definitely fit more like a 9. The 38 fit like an 8, so it was a tad on the small side but better than the too-big 39. A half size would have been perfect! Ultimately, I picked these esplars over the campos because they felt just a tiny bit longer (better fit), which made them a tiny bit more comfortable. And I liked the blue color of the V better than the more greenish campo style I’d bought. These shoes are really cute and the light blue V is perfect. It wasn’t terrible, though, and I’m counting on friends and the other reviewers who say the shoes soften and get much more comfy. I’ve worn these esplars several times now for a few hours at a time, and they are starting to break in. Glad I bought them and glad I went with the smaller size! 4 stars bc they’re not comfy right out of the box.
