cool, classic sneaker
I love this shoe. I now have three pairs and just ordered the extra white. The Esplar is perfect for me. I have small feet, about a 6 so I ordered a 37. I wear mine almost everyday. I have developed some issues with my feet and with a knee and these look great with nearly everything and are comfortable. I haven’t really had issues with the tongue, but I do feel that they require a period of breaking in. As I have a bit of a bunion I find the Esplar to be the more comfortable between this style and the Campo. The Campo has a higher wall of rubber and it is not as flexible nor does it stretch because of the higher rubber wall. The Esplar has a lower rubber wall and the leather stretches to expand at the point where my bunion is. I wear these sneakers with skirts and ... MoreI love this shoe. cute and comfortable but flawed
So the positives first: these look great and fit nicely. I have a slightly wide foot and these shoes accommodate that while looking great. They are very comfortable.HOWEVER—for $175 I would expect these to hold up better than they are. I’ve work them maybe five times and the rubber at the toe is already separating from the bottom. I’m not terribly hard on shoes and I’ve worn these mostly indoors (only outdoors walking from cars to buildings.) My (insert basically every other brand of casual sneaker here) hold up for years without this problem. I do like how these look, but would not repurchase and don’t think they’re worth the money.... Great Looking, runs big
Love the Veja Campo! I have them in white with black and just purchased these in white with neutral beige. I usually wear a size 6.5-7 shoe and the 37(6) worked best for me in the Veja campo. 38 was too big and although 37 felt a tad small they are fine once I wore them a few times. Unfortunately they don't come in 1/2 sizes because a 37.5 would be perfect. I wouldn't consider them the most cushioned comfy sneakers but they look great and are comfy enough to wear all day. I researched all the styles and really like the Campo the best. I love the pebbled leather and thicker sole. I definitely recommend!... Show more

Love the look, wear poorly
I love the way these shoes look, and didn't find any problems with the tongue (as other reviewers have mentioned) after the first 1-2 wears. I've had my shoes for about a year now of average wear, and I will say that they are completely worn through. The bottom sole is almost completely down to nothing, and the shoes look insanely crumpled and worn. They are way way more destroyed looking than any other pair of sneakers I've had with the same amount of usage. I know that they're white, but I have periodically cleaned and conditioned them. That also doesn't account for the fact that the sole is basically threadbare at this point. They honestly look like a pair of shoes someone has had in a closet for decades. For sneakers this expensive I would've expected much ... Love these! ran big
I love the look of the Veja Campo sneakers and have been wanting them in white with black for awhile so after reading tons of reviews I finally ordered them. I have an average to narrow foot and wear a size 7 in most shoes so I ordered the size 37 and 38 since I was not sure what size would fit me best. I ended up keeping the 37/6. Although the 37 felt a tad small the 38 was definitely too big. Unfortunately they don't make half sizes because a 37.5 would've been perfect but once I wore them around for a day they actually feel perfectly fine and are very comfortable. No issues with the tongue either, I found it to be very soft so I do think they have changed it since older reviews complained it was stiff and uncomfortable. I do always wear thin footies which I think helps especially if the sneakers feel a bit small since footies hold your foot so it doesn't spread out as much if that makes sense, I noticed the shoes felt better and roomier with thin footies than without. I would recommend sizing down especially if you are a half size.. Veja Campo are great looking sneakers, I highly recommend!... Show more

Runs TTS to Large -
I ordered the Veja Campo after debating between Campo, Vespalar, V10. This was a good choice, liked the pebbled leather. Shoe wasn't too bulky or too low. Looks great with my leather leggings, jeans and shorts. Read a lot about tongue being long, etc, Mine didn't seem any longer, just a little stiffer, but I think that's to be expected with leather vs canvas, just needs time to break it in like any leather would. TTS in width, certainly not a really narrow shoe. I am a true 7.5 (US) size in sneakers, from keds, Brooks, adidas, Under Armour, Nike. ALWAYS ALWAYS a 7.5. In dress shoes, flat loafers, heels, I"m always 7.5, but in strappy sandals, flip flops, I tend to go to an 8 when I can, just because I don't like my heel to be right on the edge. I ordered both size 7 & 8 (US). I went with the 7 because they were pretty much exactly like a true 7.5 (US). I'd say if in between sizes, order both (since free shipping/returns and Nordstrom is really easy with returns) or go with smaller size.... Show more

Stylish and cute but expensive and not for walking
I have been looking for a stylish, versatile, low profile white sneaker for awhile now to replace a worn pair I have. Given the price I did my research and read many reviews - my biggest concern going in was that several noted they are a bit stiff at first but break in quickly and my feet are on the wide side. My friend has this exact sneaker and raved about them, so I finally gave in and purchased them as a birthday gift to myself. I’m not a big fan of ‘breaking in’ shoes, but thought these just might be worth it. Sadly they are not. They are cute on and go with so much, but after wearing them for several months now I have noticed my feet (arches) and back hurting if I walk any appreciable distance in them. I’m afraid I am going to have to relegate these to the ... MoreI have been looking for a stylish, versatile, low profile white sneaker for awhile now to replace a worn pair I have. I’m afraid I am going to have to relegate these to the times I want a casual look, but am going by car and with not much walking involved. Too much money for the wear I will get out of them IMO.... The most uncomfortable shoes you'll ever wear
These shoes are the most uncomfortable shoes you'll ever wear. They may be good for short walks or in and out of the car outings but if you plan on walking around the city for more than a couple of hours, get different shoes. I wore these shoes on a trip and after 3 days of exploring the city I had to take them off at the store and purchase sneakers. I just couldn't stand to wear them anymore. The insert is super uncomfortable - it's like walking on hard board. More than that after only a few days of wear the top of one shoe became so wrinkled as if I've been wearing them for years. Honestly, don't understand the hype about these shoes and the price for such poor quality and discomfort is way too much. Not worth it!... Show more

tongue uncomfortable
I have been wanting to buy these for a while and finally made the purchase. Unfortunately, like several other reviewers have mentioned, the flaw involving the tongue of the shoe. It feel like a sharp piece of cardboard cutting against your foot/ankle. This problem could easily be solved. The tongue has a soft fabric padding in it but not on the last quarter inch that trims the tongue. That part is just stiff leather and pokes your foot/ ankle area. Other than that problem, I LOVED the look and style of the shoe. It can be paired with man outfits and dressed up or down. I ordered a size 38 and it fit perfectly. I wear between a 7.5 and 8 in shoes (I wear 38 in Birks so used that as a guide when ordering). I was very disappointed bc they are very fashionable. If you ... Uncomfortable, with odd problems
Unfortunately, these shoes require numerous internet searches on "how to break them in," and "why is the tongue overly long and what to do about it?" and "why don't they fit right?" Some people have apparently been able to manipulate the leather or slide the tongue to the side or tuck it under (?) or exchange them for a different size, but seriously?! That's a lot of work for a pair of shoes. I don't think mine will ever fit right, and just a few minutes of wear in the house rubbed my ankles raw. Sure, they are cute, and stylish, but I, for one, am not willing to sacrifice comfort for that. Especially because I need a comfortable shoe for walking and travel. Celebs who wear these must have gotten them for free and were romanced by the sustainability or something. ...
