The chrome-free cowhide is smooth and light. It comes from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and undergoes an innovative tanning process that uses neither chrome nor heavy metals or dangerous acids. By simplifying the tanning process, the use of chemicals and energy is reduced, water consumption is reduced by about 40% and the use of salt is reduced by 80%. After tanning, the water is reusable. ChromeFree leather is used for the entire leather children's collection. The suede is made from the underside of cowhide that has been previously brushed to make it softer and more flexible. It comes from farms in the south of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). It is tanned in Brazil in compliance with Reach standards. Special attention is paid to water consumption during the tanning process. The nubuck leather is also coated with water-repellent oils without PFCs (chemical compounds) to protect the sneakers from light rain.
