I've used Verbatim in the past and this review does not condemn the product - it's great. But you have to wrap service, including delivery into the equation. My [walmart.com] search had one list as "Verbatim 700MB 52X CD-R 2 Pack of 50 Disc Cake Box Value Bundle", that is what I ordered. What I received "Included Item:Verbatim CD-R 700MB 52X with Branded Surface - 50pk Spindle - Qty 2 "Two loose missiles, in an over-sized box with a little craft paper that did nothing. The spindle cases (bases) were broken

First off this item new was great. Second thing is keep the plastic wrapped area high on discs because the bottom falls out easily due to no rack in center holding a 100 pack together. I was lucky enough to have a 50 pack empty to make a full 50 pack with case and rest I just made a case out of cover and plugs. Its a great value but packaging could be better by company that makes this brand. Made a cd and I like this brand but hate its package set up. Its really easy to drop cds on floor if not careful handling these discs. Added pictures to help you see package it came in and one I had already. I taped original package up to contain cds and other will never fall all over because of the center holder. Save old cases to refill.

They are what they are. Sometimes you will get a bad cd that cant be fully recorded on, my cr recorder will say recording error. However the sales associate in Mt Pleasant TX was very helpful and friendly when I purchased these. I always try to shop in store when I can.

Compare the small print where other discs are manufactured. In Taiwan there is strict controls on the quality of manufacturing machinery. Look at the location of manufacture of all the other brands available in other stores. If it says made in China you know you will have a large number of coasters very soon. Verbatim is only manufactured in Taiwan using precision equipment. I have burned many Verbatim CD discs as well as DVD discs. Verbatims are absolutely the best in the market place today. In fact, you should burn two Verbatim discs every time you back up data: one disc to keep in close proximity and one to keep in a second off-site location. If your computer does not come with an installed optical burner then buy an external player/record from the Kmart online website and start making backup. Avoid discs made in China. Get some Verbatim disc. The CD-R format is a good starting point for anyone interested in serious backup. Later you will want to advance to Verbatim 4.7GB or 8.0GB discs. You will not regret storing valuable information on Verbatims.

Being a composer, I need these specific CDs to 1) record my own original music and 2) make more demo copies. My CD machine absolutely requires CD's that say (in tiny print) "Digital Audio" on the CD. As two clerks tried to help me order them at the kiosk TV, the SONY brand was no longer available. The clerks suggested I order the Verbatum brand, which I did only because the Verbatum decscription stated "digital quality". This is a fallacy and incorrect because the Verbatum CDs do not work in my recording equipment. For me Verbatim has always been a favorite brand of software for burning and it's nice to know that the Office Depot still cares about bringing them in. I've never had one disc go bad on me, unless I make the mistake. They are always consistent in the quality they deliver and as long as I can can find them, I will be using them. I bought the CD-Rs recently on my last trip to Office Depot. I use the CD-Rs for downloading music off of iTunes. They work great and I have never had a problem. I got a 50-pack to stock up. I have been using Verbatim for a while and I am pleased. Good quality and works great like it was intended to do.
