I definitely would not recommend it it is complete and utter garbage. We also had a verizon extender so we wouldn’t have so many dropped calls. But it is not compatible with this device. So now back to trash cell service.

It can plug in to a USB to provide internet to a single device, but that requires menu selections every time you want to use the computer and gives no continuous connection. Additionally, only one networked device can be supported at a time in this manner. Also, the display goes dark too quickly not giving you time to read messages or menu items. The display is too small and difficult to read. You can not look at it and get status in a glance. Was recommended this product by Verizon employee since I was looking to use it for our church to connect our laptop and printer to and one phone to look up lyrics. no device can stay connected for more than 5 minutes before it drops it. The device admin page is a joke and won’t stay connected to the jet pack for more than 10 seconds. The WPS will not work to connect our printer. The speeds never go over 10mbps. The touchscreen is horrible to use, not “intuitive” like the site says. Was going to return it since the employee said I had 6 months to return it with a restocking fee and past six months there’s no fee. I tried to return it 32 days after purchasing since I’d given up on it as an option. They won’t take it, so now I’m stuck with a $200 paper weight. Thanks!

For $200 I expected it to work much better

I’ve had this MiFi for 24 hours now. I charged it when I got it yesterday but didn’t hook up to the Wi-Fi until tonight with my iPad. After a little over 10 minutes of use it went from 100% down to 84% battery. The screen buttons often have to be pushed three or four times before they actually work, and somehow I accidentally hit the Wi-Fi off button and it took me over five minutes to get it to come back on again. Plus, it continuously shuts itself down and then a minute or two later starts turning on again, which it is doing right now, as I write. The screen only stays lit for about 15 or 20 seconds, then it goes black. But there is no light on it to show if it is actually still powered on or not. Good Quality Hotspot for Price

I purchased this as a backup internet connection in case my company's wifi or my home's internet goes down. The battery life is great for 1-2 devices. It will consume more power as more data passes through it. It will also use more power and slow down if it's in a bag, so keep it cool in the open. If you're using multiple devices on it, keep it plugged in (It will prompt you to disconnect it when the battery's at 100%).This device can be throttled by the user and has the option of splitting into a guest and main hotspot. Specific MAC addresses can be blocked for unwanted devices, and it has features most of today's routers and firewalls have. The touchscreen sometimes does not register finger contact, and the processor may be slow to process commands. I had to keep at it for a few presses to shut it down or switch on/off the wifi.Be aware this hotspot requires a different data plan from your phone, and is also subject to throttling by Verizon if the network is congested or you are over your data limit. Now that 5g hotspots are available, I recommend choosing this hotspot for its reliability, durability, and low-cost (It should be at a discount.).

Huge disappointment

I recently “upgraded” to the Verizon Mifi 8800L because our older device died. This certainly is not an upgrade. The Mifi 8800 has no range and needs constant attention to get it to work. You have to be right next to the device to get access to the internet. It has to be restarted every other day. I am very disappointed in this device as it is quite expensive. The previous one, MiFi 6620L, did not need so much attention. When you wanted to connect to the internet, it connected. Of course, the Mifi 6620L is no longer sold by Verizon. We live in a rural area and this is our only access to internet service so we are stuck with this inferior product. You would think an upgraded product would work better than what is being replaced. I must have a lemon - it has never worked
11 March 2023

The device rarely gets 2 bars of service. It regularly only has 1 or none. I am never able to get decent speeds from the device unless it bounces between 1 and 2 bars. I genuinely think I have a lemon. It is so bad, I'm in the middle of a major U.S. city and still 1 bar. I travel for work, so I have tried it across the county, and in South America and never had any reliable connection with it. I have tried multiple laptops, phones, tablets, nothing can use this piece of garbage. The signal/service is so bad the connection timed out when attempting to perform the verizon troubleshooting steps and I had to switch to a public wifi connection just to continue. Absolute garbage device and it needs to be thrown in the trash

I was wary at first, but this device has proved to be Very useful! I'm in Bellingham and during most of the day, draw just under 100 mbps, and up to 24mbps upload. I have my TV, Phone, Dog 360degree camera, Laptop and Google home all connected...and Zero issues. Of course not all devices are drawing in data at the same time, but when I need to connect, I do Not notice any extra lag. Using my Cellphone at work, I really like how quick and clear my Dog cameras respond, which are wifi connected to this Jetpack at home.I really needed a way to have Internet at home wherever I am, without a Contract, cables, modems to setup, etc. This is very easy to use, quite instant, NO Contract, VERY Mobile with decent range in the home. Perfect for remote areas

I purchased this because I work from home and live in a rural area and the only internet option is a satellite that is at best intermittent. This has helped me so much when my internet goes out (which happens continuously, all it has to do is rain!). I disagree with their statement on the battery usage. I have to plug it in after an 8 hour work day or it won’t last the next day. Having said that, it’s not hard to plug it in at my desk to use it. I’ll be looking to add a couple more to be able to stream as my internet constantly buffers and is beyond frustrating. The cost is worth it because it will be about the same as my awful internet but better service. The touch screen is not exactly accurate and could use some calibration adjustments.

Works great on USB, awful on WiFi
23 April 2023

I use a hot spot for home internet. Got this to replace a previous Jetpack that I had for five years. The old one could be set on the windowsill and reliably used with WiFi connection to the computer. This one cannot be used that way. It constantly drops the network or the connection to the computer and restarts itself. I finally gave up on WiFi and started using it by connecting the charging cable to my USB-A port. It works great when used that way. Very fast 4G speed. On balance I give it 4 stars since I finally figured out how to use it. If you plan to use this outside the home then make sure you take the cable with you and use it as an ethernet device, not on WiFi.
