Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut Nv, 750 ml

(5,394 reviews)

Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is a Brut Grand Reserve sparkling wine made in the AOC Champagne Denomination of Origin, in Champagne (France) by Veuve Clicquot with the Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir varieties. The origins of this prestigious wine cellar, situated among the best Champagne “crus”, date back to 1772 and Philippe Veuve Clicquot. Fifteen years later, his son François took over with his wife Barbe Nicole Ponsardin until she was widowed at the age of 27 and decided to follow in her husband’s footsteps, becoming the Grande Dame of Champagne. Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is made from a selection of the best vineyards classified as Grands Cru and planted with the Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir classic varieties. A total of 50-60 plots where conventional agriculture is practised and the grapes are not harvested until the optimum point of ripeness. In the winery, Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is made from a coupage of almost 50 wines from the best vineyards. 25% of the wine of the year and 35% of aged wine are added to this blend each year. Afterwards, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle and the wine rests in the cellar for a minimum of 30 months. Finally, a dose of 10 grams of sugar per litre is added during disgorging. The Clicquot Ponsardin widow was a pioneer in the Champagne world. One of her initiatives was to put labels on the bottles. A distinctive yellow label to show the world the quality of her Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label.

This champagne is the best!!! First, it looks so luxurious! Second, the orange pops so good! Thirdly, the taste is the best! I would recommend this with a drop of orange juice. See photo for how we paired it with morning breakfast the day of. Will be purchasing many more! CHEERS

You can’t go wrong with the champagne! It always delivers, is available at most liquor stores or places that sell wine. It’s on most menus that sell champagne at restaurants. The downside, is the pricing when you are out at a restaurant. Sometimes it’s price just right and sometimes it can be priced on the high side. I typically get a bottle of this at either wine stores like Total Wine. Or… I will order this out at a restaurant when they have half-price bottle wine. Makes it much more affordable. I definitely recommend this champagne if you are not sure what to get and you would like to celebrate a special occasion or surprise a champagne drinker.

Veuve Cliquot is hands down my favorite champagne. The quality that you get for the price is remarkable. It’s around $50 a bottle and you can find it at grocery stores. It simply tastes divine. It’s crisp and refreshing. I love to drink it by itself but you can use it for fancy champagne cocktails if you want. Wouldn’t waste this on a mimosa. If you think you hate champagne because you’ve only tasted something cheap and gross like André, try Veuve! I promise you won’t be disappointed. This was paid for with my own money and all thoughts are my own :)

A Superb NV Champagne

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label looks beautiful: golden-yellow, with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles. Next it is so pleasing to the nose: initially reminiscent of yellow and white fruits, then of vanilla and later of brioche. Note the fine balance between the fruity aromas coming from the grape varieties and the toasty aromas, the result of the three years of bottle aging. The first sip delivers all the freshness and strength so typical of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label with a symphony of fruit tastes following (pear, lemon). Here is a true member of the Brut family, well structured, admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo, with each fruit or almond note distinct. Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label manages to reconcile two opposing factors - strength and silkiness - and to ... MoreVeuve Clicquot Yellow Label looks beautiful: golden-yellow, with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles. Best Value in High-End Champagne
30 December 2021

This is the best value in high-end Champagne, when found on sale (around $55). Even at regular price (around $70), it is worth it. Small bubbles that continue forever. Nutty nose and soft on the palate, but with much follow through. Not short lived. Even great as simply leftover white wine, if you are foolish enough to not finish the bottle when opened! Fascinating back story of its history, all the way to the French Revolution, in the book, "The Widow Clicquot."

I love Veuve Clicquot!
22 December 2022

I love Veuve Clicquot so much so that I gave a bottle of it to my family to celebrate a graduation. Silly me.....I expected we would enjoy the Veuve Clicquot together in celebration. They, instead, did not pop it open during my visit! I was surprised. My assumption, therefore, is that they love Veuve Clicquot at least as much as I do and intend to enjoy it privately so they can pour a little more in their own flutes. In the future I plan to bring two bottles for such celebrations.

The French word “Veuve” means “Widow.”In an era when women were excluded from the business world, she dared to assume the head of the company, a role she undertook with passion and determination. Madame Clicquot’s character might be summarized with two words: audacious and intelligent. She seized each new opportunity that arose, willing to take risks, and as such she was able to expand her business to all four corners of the world. Uncompromising when it came to the quality of her wines, she perfected new techniques of production. She invented the “table de remuage” (riddling table) to clarify champagne, and innovated the very first blend of rosé champagne. Within just a few years she made her name into a brand of excellence, a name today renowned throughout the world. Even then, her peers recognized her formidable contributions, and referred to her as the “Grande Dame of Champagne.Madame Clicquot is considered one of the world's first international businesswomen. She was the first to take over management of a company and guide it through hazardous times. She brought her wine business back from the brink of destruction, turning it into one of the most successful champagne houses. She also spread champagne across the globe.Drink and enjoy!

What luxury tastes like
26 December 2021

This is what luxury tastes like! Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut: perfectly dry but not too acidic, bright and vibrant in flavor, with an enchanting nose and a nuanced finish. It’s a delight to look at in the glass with its streaming column of bubbles and even more of a delight to sip. I try many different champagnes but in this price range ($40-$60) if you ask me it’s hard to compete with Veuve Clicquot. Can’t wait to crack up on a bottle — or two! — with loved ones on New Year’s Eve. Total Wine stocks Veuve at the best price I can find, so I always grab multiple bottles and don’t buy it anywhere else.

Worth the $$
2 January 2023

Not usually a champagne fan, but Veuve has changed my mind about Champagne. Celebrated the new year 2023 with this bottle & all I can say is it's worth the $$. Light & Smooth on the palate; easy to pair with cheese board, fish etc. Looked lovely with the box. Will definitely buy again, looking forward to buying the next bottle for the next big event. First Choice Unley = great selection.
