I like this a lot because there is no sponge. We have hard water which has caused the sponges in previous humidifiers to get pretty gross pretty quickly. This one is kind of a challenge to clean because I can’t get the whole thing apart to clean the inside and all of the crevices, but I am so glad there is no sponge filter holding into water and creating mold. It is easy to fill and load, and the amount of water that it holds lasts all night. The mist is powerful enough to fill up a standard-size bedroom. It has made a huge difference for my dry skin and eyes in the winter!

I bought it a couple years ago and it still works well. At first i used it only when kids were sick to relieve their coughing and congestion. I would be cautious about it actually because sometimes the symptoms became even worse. After some time i realized that it depends on the air. If the air is humid enough, then using a humidifier would make things worse. Now we moved to another area where the air is dry in winter and I turn it on every night in winter, and sometimes other days too. It gives a soothing white noise, i like it for myself and for kids. About cleaning - I follow the official instructions on YouTube, filling it with vinegar. I had to scratch the old scale with the knife though.

Bought this because my son got strep throat and he was very congested and could not breath during the night. Dr recommend as well! I likes this model because of the size and aesthetic. It’s for a small to medium room, our room is large but only need it to hit the bed area so it does the job. My sons room is on the medium size so it will be perfect for when he starts sleeping in his room. I deducted one star because it makes a noise every time the water starts going down and the pressure lights are kinda bright. But great humidifier for the price!

This is likely the worst humidifier we've ever owned and we've owned many for my daughter with allergies. I have never had an ultrasonic humidifier which sounds like it has a 'fan'. The 'ultrasonic' feature of this humidifier must be extremely low quality, as on every setting, you hear what sounds like a loud 'fan' noise. If that's not enough, it constantly sounds like a faucet running in a sink full of water, not a drip or trickle, a constant, 'water running' sound, which is not relaxing or pleasant - it's a humidifier, if I want 'Zen', I'll purchase a product to make water noises. I knew better, but thought with so many reviews, why not give it a try. Vick's outsources this to the lowest bidder and gets the lowest quality product in return. Vick's makes menthol jelly rub, not humidifiers. This thing is garbage. I tried it for 2 weeks, with distilled water and nothing changed. It's VERY loud and makes a mess. There are plenty of newer designed, Top Fill options in the market and that's what I replaced this with once I returned it. WASTE OF MONEY, WASTE OF TIME

It holds a little over a gallon of water and on the medium fan setting lasts a little over a day before it needs to be refilled. The fan is fairly quiet on the lower settings for sleeping, though a bit loud at the high fan setting. It puts out a nice amount of mist and you can move the mist output on the top of the tank to select the direction of the mist. This comes in handy to avoid mist being too close to walls or furniture. You can use regular tap water though depending on the amount of minerals in your water, you may want to use distilled or filtered water. We have a pitcher that filters water for drinking and we just use that water for the humidifier to minimize dust in the output. While it's a big plus not having to buy and change filters, you do need to follow the cleaning instructions in the manual to keep it free from scale build up and mold. The manual suggests weekly cleaning using distilled vinegar for the mist nozzle and tank cap and then a small amount of diluted bleach to clean the tank. It's simple to do but be sure to read the instructions to avoid damaging the unit.I like the option of adding a Vicks scent pad and the box included a sample pad to try. It is helpful for those days when you are feeling a bit congested. Overall, this is a handy little humidifier that works well, has a small footprint and is relatively low maintenance. It also has a spot to put scent patches for breathing therapy, but my children are too young to safely use that so I cannot speak to its effectiveness.I find that this humidifier lasts about 24 hours on its highest output before needing to be refilled. The output vent at the top can also be aimed, making it so you can change the direction of the output without rotating the entire unit. First it's very soft blue tank is pleasing to the eyes, easy to clean because of its wide opening enabling my hand to reach inside and reach all spots, and easy to fill for the very same reason. The top handle is deep enough to carry the tank comfortably when filled, as well as lift the tank when empty. Thrilled to find a nice long cord which isn't common nowadays. A small footprint allows the unit to be placed on a bedside table along with all the other gadgets I use. The dial operation is awesome, so easy to control the mist output as needed instead of being stuck with one or 2 speeds like other units I've had. My daughter went out and purchased us the Vicks Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier and this unit is much quieter and SO much easier to operate and clean. It took no time to set the unit up, we simply removed the Vicks VapoPads from the wrapper and place it inside the side slot of the unit. Filled the wide tank with the desired amount of water, plugged it in and switched on the control to desire cool mist flow and before long the Vicks was smelling throughout the house. When you suffer allergies and dry throat, this product has been so helpful - especially at night time. Placing this in my kids room tremendously helped as they are no longer coughing and suffering from dry lips and throat because they sleep with mouth open. It allows my kids to breath better and sleep. With baby #3 coming, I plan on buying another one of these for the baby room. don't buy it

the tab that opens to put water in is so impossible to open my 6'3 215lb bf can barely get it open. i don't have arthritis and am athletic bc i lift weights and do cardio and i physcially cannot open it. i tried just now to open it bc the tank went dry and bc my sinuses were bleeding bc it's so dry in the air even with this thing on fll blast. when i went to open it the stopper would not budge. i twisted it until my fingernail broke, my finger is now sprained and i had to go to the hospital to split it. plus, now the tank is cracked, i'm bleeding, and the stupid stopper STILL never budged. now i have to buy a differnt tank and you better believe it won't be this brand! somebody from this brand needs to reach out to me about being severly injured by this product!
