I was pleasantly surprised by this little wonder. Historically, a long time admirer, but never an owner until recently. This was purchased to have something "just in case." Enter, the Sportsman. Mine has the matte nylon scales, but is otherwise the exact same. What a well crafted, high quality little tool! It has *slightly* fewer functions than what I'm used to, but it is very flexible in its uses, with some creative thinking. It is a joy to carry, well designed and built, and seems to have just the answer to those "what now?" situations. I am very glad I purchased it. It has opened my eyes to the rest of the Victorinox lineup, seeing as I would love some more functions to suit my lifestyle and surroundings. Brilliant pocket carry!

I bought one of these a few weeks ago and it's absolutely fantastic. The 84mm/two-layer size is VERY pocket-friendly and the ridged file is a really useful tool to have on hand - much more so than an extra blade, in my view. It's rapidly becoming my go-to EDC.

Disappointed. Relook your packing and handling

As a repeat return customer, not all that happy on this purchase. Both of the Victorinox Sportsman, purchased as gifts, were badly rubbed/scuffed along the scales. Seems to be from poor shipping and stock handling. I paid more than other retailers (Amazon, DLT Trading, victorinox) for the typical quality service from Swiss Knife Shop. You let me down this time. In contrast, similar knives I just purchased as gifts from DLT Trading and from Amazon arrived inpristine condition.

Favorite SAK

Beautiful classic Swiss Army Knife. I'm so glad I found it here, at such a good price, and with engraving! I had bought one just like it in Switzerland this last summer as a gift for my father-in-law, and had it engraved by the Victorinox shop...but I forgot to put it in my checked bag (uh oh) but thankfully the Swiss security measured the blade, evaluated me, and let me keep it.But USA TSA agents confiscated it in the US when changing planes (despite it having cleared through Swiss security already) and said there was no way to get it back later. I understand they'e doing their job to protect people, but some common sense here...if I had flown non-stop, I would have been fine.Plus, scissors with longer blades are allowed, yet this one (which was already cleared ... MoreBeautiful classic Swiss Army Knife. I real Canadian Beuty eh!

I am Canadian so I think this SAK is beautiful!I am no outdoorsman. I work in an office, so for me this knife is great. Its slim because its just two layers. I really only need one blade. Mine came with the updated version of this nail file and its is fantastic. Best file ever!I especially like that its unique and not everyone will have a Canadian flag on their SAK

Ordered knife with file, main reason I bought. Sent one with cork screw instead of file.What a waste of $30 bucks.Bought swiss knives for years but last few...I guess I need to go to some other brand.

Perfect for Everyday Woman and Travel

This is my favourite knife. It rides in my purse on a lanyard so I can fish it out easily. When I travel,it goes to my suitcase. Most often,I’m using the nail file, sometimes the corkscrew. The knife cuts tags off after shopping, or opens the hard plastic packaging when I’m traveling. So happy to always buy the mini screwdriver that twists inside the corkscrew. It’s been handy not just for eyeglass screws, but for working with small parts on some kids’ projects. I buy an extra because I’ve lost a few to airline security and luggage thieves.

Practical EDC SAK

I really like the overall size and tool set that the Sportsman provides, especially the excellent nail file, a much more useful tool for me versus the small secondary blade. I also addeda micro screwdriver and pin making this SAK a very practical EDC for most of my daily needs.

Victorinox Sportsman Swiss Army Pocket Knife

I find the 91mm knives a bit too big for my pocket. And, I wanted a knife with useful tools, especially the screwdriver/bottle-opener, the awl, and the nail file/philips screwdriver. This knife, at 84mm, fits the bill and I carry it most days.The tweezers, toothpick, and straight pin are all useful additions and something you can't get on an alox victorinox.Have fun!
