The dashcam works well. I hardwired it and it works as expected. An annoying thing though is that it makes a beeping sound when my car stops moving. I haven't figured out why it's doing that. If you have an iPhone, expect the app to work poorly. Works fine on my Android, but my fiancée and her mom had issues with the iPhone app, namely that the streaming video doesn't work. This is annoying when you're setting it up, but otherwise not a big deal. Viewing recorded videos worked fine on both Android and iPhone.
This dash cam kit was very easy to install with the provided trim kit. I was able to hardwire install this on a Honda CRV in about 2 hours while hiding the wires in the headliner and sides. Configuration of the dash cam is straight forward with settings to adjust sensitivity and parking mode.The Viofo IOS can definitely use some improvement for connectivity via wifi but the app is not really needed. I use it to download the video files to view it on my phone.I did run into Wifi connectivity issues on this unit but the support from Blackboxmycar was top notch and was able to provide me a replacement. They only required me to return the front dash cam unit without all the accessories as I have already installed the wires in my car. Installing the front camera is fairly easy under the rearview mirror pillar (as recommended by the dealer) and careful not to place it along nor touch the Outback's EyeSIght's periphery or line of sight.I had difficulty installing the rear camera. The vehicle is a 2020 Outback and has no ideal spot along the rear window that will not be a distraction and yet provide the best coverage. The initial place was the middle of the headliner but the edge of the headliner tapers upward and the camera does not adjust low enough orientation to catch the sweet spot of the road, When placed on the headliner, it focuses on the sky and top of the vehicles behind. License plates of vehicles in front become unreadable at stop lights because of the headlight glare but becomes readable when the glare disappears or the front vehicle moves.I set the G-sensor at the highest setting but so far it has not been activated yet as far as I know. I have the sounds setting at Start Only. Wondering if it is working. Not sure if there's some kind of alerts when it is activated . My other car's unit's (different brand) sensor is more sensitive and sounds off when it is activated every time the car hits the entrance of my garage. Perhaps BBMC can sound of on this and provide more insight on to this.Overall, my 2 weeks' experience with the Viofo A129 Plus duo is above average. more pros than cons, and will update when I get to hardwire it. Looking forward to using more of the features as soon as I have it hardwired professionally or maybe by me when I get to build up the confidence to do it.:)

Once one learns menu access, up and down controls, selecting feature options is easy. Many of these features have multiple choices and some include an “off” option which allows limiting (if desired) certain recorded information. The purchase BBMC price included the GPS device which was not initially expected.3) Ops manual; The Viofo provided ops manual is small with small text (font) size, best to print a larger format from the Viofo web site. Ops manual content is about 90% on target for me as a first time installer. Thus trial and error learning operations was expected. No big deal because that is where BLACK BOX MY CAR is outstanding. Access to real and knowledgeable people at customer service staff is quickest the best I’ve ever experienced from a internet supplier. Impressive to say the least.4) The Hard Wire Kit (HWK). There were few questions with "Add a Fuse” connectivity and additive fuse values that were not covered with the installation page. BBMC service reps answered my questions technical with confidence, thus giving confidence to going forward with what appeared as conflicting information. Followed directions with successful results. ( Kudos to the CS Staff !)5) Viofo App: This took patience on my part due wifi connectivity and dealing with procedural issues (i.e. not one of my strong skill sets) . App usage now is properly established and working fine.Summary: As of 05.04.22, the A129 Duo Plus is fully operational, road tested with videos downloaded and saved to my computer and or phone. Video quality is proven to be very good to excellent and better than expected. I am at this point pleased with the product price point, quality of the components and video. It’s a waste for it to be running and recording video in a pitch black garage.The camera rattles on the gps mount at certain driving speeds and gets very annoying. When I play the video back, it sounds terrible. The rattle is so bad that it actually triggers the G sensor at the LOWEST setting! I put a very small piece of electrical tape on it. The rattle is no longer audible, but this makes dismounting the camera slightly more difficult. I need to find some thin felt tape to put in there, but Viofo should have added this as part of the design instead of wasting my time to fix it.The included USB to SD card reader is useless. Throw it away. It's usb 2.0 so it's far too slow to playback or copy multiple files. I highly recommend people to buy a USB 3 to SD adapter that works with all phones and computer operating systems.
