First time purchasing and tasting Cinque Stella Beans and wow what a coffee. Either a long black or in a latte, the taste was sensational. I highly recommend Cinque Stella beans.

When I bought my new coffee machine I ordered many types of coffee beans from many different companies. But Vittoria’s Cinque Stella stood out high above the rest. Delicious, smooth, deep aroma, string and delicious but not at all bitter. I have just ordered 2 more large bags of beans…. I’ve found the best!

I’m on to my 3rd 1kg pack of Vittoria Cinque Stelle beans and will continue to use them as my main coffee. I like the strong taste and its richness. I drink strong double espressos and strong lattes. In a few days I’m getting my upgraded manual coffee machine and grinder and this will allow me to grind the beans and to extract from them to suit my taste. I expect this will allow me to fully realise the delicious taste of the Cinque Stelle beans. The price is also excellent compared to buying boutique coffee from smaller suppliers.

Let me take you on a journey. About 20 years ago, I was purchasing an Alfa Romeo from a dealer in Parramatta, Sydney and the salesperson asks me if I would like a coffee. I said yes and what I received was amazing. I inquired about what the blend was and it was Vittoria's Cinque Stella. I had an espresso machine and grinder at home and used to go Cantarella Brothers in Silverwater to purchase these beans. 20 years later, I have returned, after trying many different beans, to what I consider the best "coffee tasting coffee" available. Get the grind and extraction time perfect and you will have PERFECT coffee.
After being totally unsatisfied with the coffee I had been purchasing, trying different brands and blends, a friend of mine was using the Vittoria Cinque Stelle. This changed everything, this was what Coffee should taste like. None of the usual stores were stocking this particular blend so I now order on line directly with Vittoria and it couldn’t be easier, two bags every month delivered to my door. Too easy !!
Initial impact is a little subdued, good flavour but not outstanding. The exceptional feature is the aftertaste. This coffee tastes great for hours after the last sip is gone, with residuals of chocolate, caramel and oddly enough, coffee. No bitterness, no hint of sour or burnt. The only downside my dear barista observes is the faint crema.
I think this is even better than Vittoria's Oro Special Bar Bean. Quite an achievement. I've been trying many different brands and beans for my latest espresso coffee machine. Many friends have recommended a wide variety of 'modern' brands, and I did try many, but I keep coming back to Vittoria. My two favourites have been Vittoria's Espresso Coffee Bean and the Vittoria Oro Special Bar Bean. But I think Cinque Stelle Special Bar is better. Unlike so many coffee's I try these days (most of the new trendy coffee's just try too hard to be different and end up with a terrible dirty aftertaste and losing the coffee in the process), Victoria just tastes like a real coffee with that authentic espresso coffee taste. No silly over the top "nutty fruity" tastes - just good clean black coffee that is lovely to drink straight or however you want to drink it! Double shot over ice cubes, latte, macchiato, long black or short.
It's certainly a nice dark roasted Italian style espresso blend however the freshness is questionable. I've got no problem paying premium boutique coffee prices but when I'm expecting fresh coffee with that freshly roasted coffee smell and there is no roast date on the pack, calling up the office to find out when it was roasted resulted in a vague answer without them even asking for the batch details, I wonder why I bothered ordering directly where I could have gone to the supermarket to buy this coffee for a much less price. Don't get me wrong, the coffee is nice but it doesn't smell or taste as fresh as I would have hoped, ie; it seems like it's quite well rested and degassed, lacking the acidity I'd expect with fresh coffee that tones down as it ages. I'm no Al Pacino but I did roast coffee for 10 years, maybe that's the characteristics of this particular blend, but putting a roast date on the pack would certainly give me more confidence to buy direct again.
Very nice coffee smooth without being too weak. Very enjoyable black and with milk. Been looking for a long time for a coffee that pleases everyone in the family. Highly recommended.
