A really good trail tire.

It is a really good trail tire. I run this on the back with a Mazza up front. Compared to a Maxxis Aggressor, it has a strong sidewall that is much tougher than the EXO. It rolls better, but has slightly worse braking. It does well on kitty litter. I wouldn't run it in any sticky mud or heavy leaf cover because the close knobs can't bite through but for summer it feels great. I haven't had enough miles on it to compare longevity.

Best tire i have ridden. My favorite for all terrain riding. Grip is great in the corners and braking. Last over 1k miles with progressive lose of grip that you get used to over time. unlike Maxxis that seem to have a cliff of grip loss around 500 miles.

Good tire. Narrower than advertised.

Very good all-conditions traction. Surprisingly decent in the wet and slimy. A bit squirmy if you really hammer it into the corners, but manageable. Not a rear tire for chargers. Sweet on the front though.Runs undersize. I put the 2.35 on a 30mm ID rim and it’s not even 2.2 at the widest point.

Great Enduro Tire Easy Instal
6 September 2023

This is easier to instal than a Maxxis Double Down but is just as tough. Not sure why another reviewer had such trouble. The compound is a consistent with a Maxx Terra and holds up extremely well. I ditched my inserts because I feel confident even with low OSI.

Great fast rolling rear tire
23 May 2024

I was initially disappointed because I expected the Enduro casing (the description has since been improved). I decided to run it on the rear for a couple of rides. Very fast and corners well in hard pack (Post Canyon). Loose conditions are ok but I noticed the braking to be lacking a bit in the deep loam (Oakridge Alpine Trail), which is understandable given how fast it rolls. On gravel (Oakridge Dead Mt) it tends to surf but so do a lot of tires. Overall I can accept the compromise for summer riding in the PNW and will swap it for something beefier when things get very loose. Trail casing seems to be similar to EXO+ but I tend not to have a lot of repeated rock scrubbing where I ride so that is fine. The feel is very supple but also firm for cornering.

Great traction, miserable installation
19 November 2021

Nearly returned it, it was so difficult to get onto the bead. I installed my Maxxis tires with just a floor pump with no issues, but these I had to use an air compressor blow nozzle, remove the valve core, and strap around the circumference of the tire to get it to go on. The width is much closer to my 2.4 in the rear than my hardtail's 2.8s. The carcass looks pretty square on my 31mm rim. I wouldn't run it on anything wider.Traction is fantastic, and has actual transition traction, unlike the DHR II that came off. It's grippy and predictable in every turn, and bites much better. The initial bite is so much sharper that the bike actually feels like the head angle is slightly steeper. Felt good on the handful of rocks I've ridden, too.If it has a weakness that I've encountered, it's greasy hardpack. The 2.8 Rekons on my hardtail do a better job, but not by a ton. Overall, great tire. Might get a second one for the rear.

Grippy and Lively.
30 May 2024

There never will be a tire that excells at everything, from gumbo to boiler plate, but these tires are the best all around tires I've used by far. The rubber compound is sticky, but lasts well, and the Trail TNT casing is lively and responsive. The tread pattern, with lots of medium size siped lugs seems to grip almost anything.

Impressive and ultra-resistant grip
16 July 2021

I bought the 29 x 2.6 and they have so much grip and give so much confidence that they changed the handling for me. They are heavier than Mezcals (which I also love) but when I started using them they changed my handling and the impression of what can be done on a MTB. Now these tires are my favorites, especially as the front on 2.6. His favorite terrain is: EVERYTHING! They work even in mud very well. Not for nothing do they use them in the world Enduro championship!

Simply a great tyre. Not
14 July 2023

Simply a great tyre. Not to heavy or stiff, looks good and looks like it'll last a long time. I'm very impressed. Using as a rear tyre on a lightweight e-bike, would also be a great front tyre. Grips like glue.

Very disappointed
24 November 2023

I have the trail casing. The grip is pretty good. The roll is good. It beads to rim easily and stays put. The casing is absolutely dreadful. It could work as an xc tire possibly. I have 8 rides on it (mostly short) and have to throw it away. Complete knobs have ripped off, sidewall torn through and more plugs from punctures than any tire I've ever owned.
