We all agreed the image from the vortex was indistinguishable from the svarovski’s. The director of cape may pointed to the extreme effort svarovski puts into assuring product quality and German manufacturing excellence. (Vortex however, has an unconditional, lifetime warranty which I have utilized - the clasp on my case broke - they sent me a new case within a week). Vortex at that time claimed its lenses were made in Japan (high quality) but there was some question regarding a Chinese source. Current vortex hd’s have lenses made in china - UHD’s lenses made in Japan. In any case, we all agreed the vortex provided an excellent image. I have never changed my viewpoint since then! Go to Cabelas and compare the three! I recommend the vortex hd’s as the best 10x binos for the money!(For 8 power binos, I might recommend differently).

I have used my razor HDs in 10x42 for several hunts now. They are very clear edge to edge. They do awesome in low light. My favorite thing about them is how deep the can see into shadows. I used them this last hunt switching between these and the Swaro EL. I do believe the ELs were a little clearer at extreme distance. Maybe 5% better. I do not regret my Vortex Razor HDs as a purchase. My spotting scope is a Swaro and I have had many nice optics over the years. These are great binos.

In researching binoculars for an upcoming western hunt I repeatedly found the experts recommending to bring the best glass one could afford. Having used Vortex Diamond Backs I was sold on the brand but I researched high end European Glass and other similar priced options before making my choice. For my eyes, 64 years of age, these glasses provided the best clarity and low light performance. The additional 12X magnification may not be required for others but provides benefit to me. The glasses are light and fit great in my bino pack. I can hold them steady with out a tripod. One can buy better quality glass but for my eyes the quality of these binoculars combined with the price allowed me to bring quality glass on my upcoming hunt while not breaking the bank.

I absolutely love these Binos! They have been my go-to bino for the last 3 years. The power that you get with a 12x50 will always be perfect for me, and this level of glass makes it easy to set up a tripod and glass for hours comfortably on the eyes and with confidence. I have to use corrective lenses or contacts, so I have never been able to pick apart the tiniest details between higher end binos. However, I was given the chance to swap over to a 10x42 Swarovski EL, and and after trying them out scouting this year, I declined because of how much I love these.
This review is on the storage and not the optics. I have used a chest bino harness for the last 8 years. This new style that doesn’t make a good seal is just a no go for me and something this expensive. I called vortex to talk about it and they simply said this is what it is and offered no solution. I expressed that wasn’t acceptable still no solution. I expressed I would find a aftermarket solution. I purchased a large size claim shell case and am very happy with the fit. These binos will never be chest carried and this is a much better solution and should be factory
Upgraded to these from a pair of diamondbacks after a couple years taking them out west. The clarity just wasn't there. These are definitely a decent step up in quality. For the money, they're great and will definitely serve me well. They seem like a good all around pair of binos. Great deal by GoHunt around the holidays, too. 20% off definitely helped
Average. Swarovski is the best (I own 5 pairs), Steiners are next (2 pairs), Vortex (1 pair), Bushnell (2 pairs), Simmons (1pair). At almost 70 years, I need every advantage to see clearly. Vortex is OK in midday light, but does not compare to the 2 top brands in low light for an old person's eyes.
I always wanted a great pair of Binoculars (always owned $75-150 pairs)Read hundreds and hundreds of reviews and comparisons over the last two years and finally made the purchase. Not one regret, …will never need anything better.Very happy with my purchase
Best high end binoculars for the money especially when you get 20% off. I already own a pair of these binoculars but got the second pair for my wife. I have looked through more expensive binoculars but could not find that much difference in clearness and quality. I have used them on a tripod and they are really a lot clearer when steady. This keeps me from having to pack a heavy spotting scope. The warranty is awesome through vortex. I have used the warranty on other vortex products and they have replaced or fixed them.
I didn't necessarily believe the higher priced binos were all that much better than the lower midrange binos. These have certainly changed my mind. The clarity and light transmittence is better than the Viper HD pair I had purchased a year earlier. I can't really balk at the price jump knowing how much better these are even for shorter distance glassing in the deer woods or on the 3D archery range.
