My man needed one that’d support his arm & especially his shoulder well & through working all day & the “better blue ones” just don’t & they barely hold up through more than a couple of days.We were blown away right out the box how excellent & unique this sling really is!! Real thought has gone into designing & making it.First off, we were a bit worried by the photo that the netting would be a issue even though the idea behind it is great. My man has large arms & this comfortably fit over his long sleeve work shirt without feeling too tight or too loose cause of the way the shape is designed. It really “holds/hugs” the forearm, like encloses it & any left over room comes right in towards your body cause of how & where the strap is designed. He never thought a sling could feel that supportive.It explains in the description that this sling may look slightly different to the packaging as they’re continually improving it. By the looks of the picture & what we actually pulled out of the box, I think the netting material has been made much thicker as it doesn’t look anywhere near as see-through as it does in the picture. It still has the breathing holes but the stitching between each hole looks much thicker as it doesn’t look as see-through.I was a bit worried by the picture the “netting” would easily get caught on things but oddly, that’s not the case. It becomes like part of your skin once the weight of your arm is in it & the left over netting at the top of your arm kind of contours in towards your body. There’s no excess netting hanging off your elbow to get caught on things either. They haven’t put the stitching around the elbow area like many other slings so there’s no pointy corner sticking out from your elbow either to get caught on stuff. The netting idea is fantastic especially in hot weather or if you’re nursing a wound cause it allows your arm to breathe. It’s almost like you’re not wearing an extra layer at all as far as that’s concerned. The whole way along the netting has a well-sewn trim, like the trimming around the edges of blankets.There’s a thumb strap too (you can choose not to use if you wanted & just tuck it into the sling). That’s made from super soft & thick semi padded material that really helps keep the arm where it should be even when you’re moving around & stops your arm naturally wanting to slip out over time or tilt downwards. It truly keeps your forearm exactly wherever you want it, just Genius!!The main strap is also made from thick, very soft padded material too & the strap is extra long so this truly is a sling that will fit probably everyone for real. The way it locks into place is quite unique too. There’s 2 long pieces of Velcro sewn top & bottom of the strap that open up like scissors. You Velcro one part straight down along the part of the strap that comes up across the chest & the other part to the underside of the strap reaching up towards your other shoulder. It closes on the strap like scizzors, holding it firmly. The Velcro itself is very long too so it grips WELL. The design of that is really thoughtful.The Velcro, the main strap, thumb strap & neck padding have all been made the same colour as each other so this sling is also very attractive looking compared to others. It’s all a light-medium grey/silver colour.Around the neck is a very thick piece of padding, like the padding you add to stop seatbelts from irritating your neck. Even this part is well thought-out too cause inside the neck padding is a smallish Velcro square so it won’t twist or slide throughout the day, yet it’s still easy to slip your thumb under to adjust so you can get it in the perfect position & press down to Velcro lock it into place.The strap & neck padding piece are both thick & very soft but they are made out of a material that’s kinda like super softened felt (it’s not felt but that’s the closest thing I can describe it to). It’s very soft however some people with sensitive skin I can see maybe having an issue with it but with how much you can adjust this sling, it’d be easy to keep the strap & neck parts under a collar or over a long or semi-long sleeve shirt. With how excellent this sling is all round & how much support you get compared to every other sling we’ve tried (we’ve tried every design), I’d definitely choose to dress around this sling if the strap material would cause you any irritation rather than not using it at all. The material is similar to that of popular pet blankets. That’s probably another way to describe it. My man gets skin irritations pretty easy but he’s worn it many hours now with no problem.Can also see this sling truly lasting too unlike others. The “blue ones” are supposed to last multiple uses too but we’ve tried 3 different brands like that now (all Pharmacy bought) & they fall apart within days at best but this one I can truly see lasting. It’s built to last, not built for you to have to re-buy everytime you need one.This sling is only $3 more than the blue kinds but you get so much more & so much better quality for that extra $3. In my experience with vitamins & supplements ect, Wagners always takes care in their products & go above & beyond what other brands do so in part, I’m not surprised how great & well thought-out this sling is being Wagners brand, but I partly am too cause I’ve never seen a design like this before. It ticks all the boxes plus boxes I didn’t even know were needed. Feels like it’s truly a product designed by someone who’d actually use it themselves.I usually never write reviews for anything & sorry for the length. I’m just so blown away by the usefulness & quality of this sling & wanted to answer all the questions I wanted to know but couldn’t know till I bought it & put it on him. If you’re needing a sling, obviously something is wrong & you need something that’s not only going to work like needed, but something that’ll be comfortable all day & will last you, not something that’ll cost you over & over to replace or risk causing you further damage, or like my man & many people with other slings, end up causing so much frustration that you end up just taking it off & not using one at all. You won’t experience anything like that with this one. I always thought a sling was a sling till we got this one. A true item of medical assistance if I’ve ever seen one!! Thank you Wagners!!!
